In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
We use only the Chart Plotter Features of the Elite 7 HDI (Gold) and have successfully used it to navigate from Tampa to Washington, DC. One helpful feature we could certainly use is the ability know what time of day the SUNRISE & SUNSET are. The 7 HDI machine tells you what time moon rise and moon set are - but not sun rise and sunset. We have to go back to our old Lowrance Expedition C for that. Strange they are leaving out significant chart plotter features.
got a question.... we are targeting fish that are on the boat and mid column but we are getting a lot of clutter.. we are fishing inthe ocean from 70 to 10 feet?? what chirp setting should I use
Thanks I know it's interference cause we are in clean water with sand and rock bottom... so troubleshooting has begun.. gonna start with the transducer placement
Quick question..I just bought one of this and it didn't work right on mine. The graphic wise. I did the wizard on land. Do we have to do the wizard question while in the water or it doesn't matter?
Its great for finding a new balls tied to a brick if you know where they are but don't upgrade as the charts will almost stop working and the GPS is off by between 10-20 meters
Trying to find someone that knows why my screen is freezing on my Elite 7 chirp.Lowarance has no answer. They replaced my unit. Then the replacement does the same thing.Called them back and they gave me a new transducer.Same thing.sonar screen will just freeze for 30 sec. to a minute before scrolling again.Using separate power source.Does this mainly while stopped or moving slowly in water.Using high chirp in shallow water.

Chirp is great ! Next time I fish for tennis balls, I will be using Chirp!
Thank you very much, nice work, I would be very happy if you add a video explaining the bottom structure whether it is stone or sand.
Are these units similar to the newer models minus side view or not even close.
