Considering, that a live scope is an option to accept, the side imaging and down imaging are just like the toys.
In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

Not to get off track but what kind/brand chip are you using in your Lowrance Elite FS??
Got a question for you. I have a Lowrance Elite FS 9" screen. 3-1 transducer. Anyway, we go out today I turn unit ON and I can't see screen. I wanted to check "brightness" but like I said I couldn't see screen. I know it was on cause when you touch screen it would make noise. Try putiing a towel over unit & my head to make it darker but no luck. Once I got back, we backed boat into garge, turned lights out, & I found that "brightness" was turned all the way down. So I turned it all the way up. Now I could see screen again. Shut unit OFF, then turned it back ON & "brightness" when back to half brightness, but I could make it out to jack it back up. My question is can I some how save the brightness setting to MAX. So unit is always ON MAX brightness?
If you tap the power button it will cycle the brightness, so that you don’t have to manually turn it up
I have a problem? I have a hard time seeing the sonar screen while sunny and wareing sunglasses. Any tips? I have to bend down put my face right up to screen while shading area as best I can with my hand. Its like running blind when your driving boat do to not being able to see screen. It's the glare.
Places like bass pro, cabelas,, and other online sites make special sunglasses with specific tinting to remove the glare and reflection from the sunlight on your screen. Aside from that, making sure your brightness is turned all the way up is about the only thing you can really do. However, those newer screens are supposed to be anti-glare and shouldn't be causing too much of an issue. So it's possible the backlight isn't working like it should.
How do I change the icon direction arrow on the chart screen to a boat instead of the arrow.Also on the chart screen the Arrow when moving is sideways not pointing in the direction the boat is moving???
Are you using an external GPS antenna like a Point 1? And also what kind of mapping are u using?
the main thing i don't understand is... when you're sitting still, the screen keeps scrolling to the side and I can't figure out where it's actually looking to be able to cast there with confidence it's the right place
When sitting still, the signal is just repeating over and over so whatever it's showing you on the furthest to the right on the screen is the freshest image of what's directly beneath your transducer
You have to realize that what’s under water does not stop. Water moves, fish move, debris moves, etc. so when you sit still it doesn’t have anything to do with your transducer picking up what’s under water. Hope that makes sense.
Are the 7 and 9 the same except for the size??
That is correct. I don't think it has the extra ethernet port on the back like the HDS does between the 7 and the 9
I have a question regarding Fish ID, How can be switched between fish arc shape image and little fish shape image?
On the menu on right, go to more Option, the menu at the very bottom, and the very last option in the next screen is Fish ID. You can turn on the fish symbols from there.
@@nightanddaymarine8823 I remember i already check on that menu, and pressed on every option showed there, and the sonar screen showed the little fish shape image and No fish arc shape was showed. I don´t know if the transducer model i have is the problem. which is the HDI skimmer model i currently have. Or perhaps i need to update the GPS unit with the latest software?
@@ArturoSanchez-rm4nj oh so your trying to get the arches and not the symbols. Technically it should just have the option set to Off under the Fish ID menu. However you might want to try doing a soft reset on it and see if that helps. Any transducer or fishfinder has the ability to show arches.

@@jchudo8248 you can buy it with the display as a kit and it's a lot cheaper to go that way than buying it seperately. But if u already have an elite Fs then u have to buy it as a stand alone transducer
