Bobby JCFHv Lichtenstein Most definitely. As campy and over the top as this game was there was definitely that 'It' factor a game like this needs. That legit sinking, uneasy feeling you'd get from hearing the chainsaw rev or seeing the sun set waiting for that werewolf howl. Many parts of this game legit scared me.
I never knew this game was actually beatable lol. It always seemed like the levels went on forever :(

I love how the grilling neighbour only gives you 5 points while the barbecue (or whatever he is grilling) gives you 100 points, giving the hint that the neighbour is less important than the food
As someone who played this like crazy as a kid and could never beat it, this is satisfying as hell to watch. Just absolutely annihilates the game.
Love how he played to the music, cycling through the items and weapons like that.

There has been this image in my head, for a long time, about a giant baby stomping. I figured it was some cartoon from my past. But I couldn't remember it. And I kept thinking, why is it in my head? Was it a dream? But I let it go and just didn't even bother finding out. But just recently, my brother had and I was just casually talking, then out of the blue, he was like "I remember a game back when we were kids called ZOMBIES ATE MY NEIGHBORS". I was like "I don't remember". Then he was like, "look it up and see if you do". So I did and OMG!!! So many lost memories was suddenly remembered. 😂😂😂😂 Oh Wow! How could I forget!?
My theory is, they turned up the baby's speed until it became a credible threat.

Me and my Dad used to sit and play this for hours together when I was a lot younger. Never got very far but great fun and a very underrated game. I thoroughly enjoyed your play through and to speed run it was very impressive! Loved watching the video! :)

Amazing shit, dude. Serious props. I could never get further than like level 22 in this game as a kid, so it's awesome to see you destroy it. I can't imagine how stressful this run must be, knowing that one bad monster spawn could ruin the whole run. I knew when I saw you get that bazooka in the first trash bin that there had to be some RNG manipulation at work. I'm kind of curious how much of the routing and strats you had to figure out yourself, since this isn't a massively popular speed game.
Thanks! I figured most of it by myself. Including the RNG in level 1, and the routes for almost every level. The way the first drop works is by selecting the character at the right frame after a reset. Then just keep pressing up+left to ensure the RNG is consistent until you get to the bin. It had a fairly harsh password system tbh. If you jumped to later stages the difficulty got an effective hike because it didn't store your inventory, so you'd always start with a tiny number of items.
39:11 all made sense when I was older. The Mall is the most memorable part of the game for me and I still own this game. I played through it with my friend when we were kids. Eventually I played Resident Evil which lead me to renting George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead (1978) on VHS.
In 2008 I met Ken Foree and Tom Savini from Dawn of the Dead and in 2010 I met George A. Romero which was like a dream come true for me, along with other main actors from the film. Even the composers Italian Rock group GOBLIN I saw perform live and met them after the show. I am a huge fan of Dawn of the Dead... and it all started from playing this game as a kid.

AAAAHH I miss this game, used to play it when my daughter was little. We had the sega channel lol. Got a connector thing from the cable company that would fit into the sega like a game. For a fee we would get like 30 games a month to choose from. Zombies Ate My Neighbors was a regular. Never made it close to level 99 though lol.
I could see this being made into a movie.
Funny thing is that there was a rumor of this being a movie last time I checked.

There were some levels that once I figured out what you were doing, it blew my mind. Inching forward and using a treasure chest to kill what ever was just about to attack someone. Or spawning a bunch of mummies because I assume only a certain amount can spawn? This stopped other mummies from spawning and killing a survivor. wow. Good job

I was born in 2001 and this is one of the games I grew up with; I'm sure there are some kids nowadays that have had the experience of playing this. If/when I have kids, I'll show them this and a whole bunch of other treasurable games from the past.

Watched this from beginning to end. Never thought it was possible, nevermind something someone could speed run. Amazing gameplay! So few close calls and so many exploits that blew my mind tbh! Might pick this game up again soon to give it a shot, but i doubt I'll get past the 20s! 😂
Damn, well I'm impressed. I usually start losing neighbors around Level 10: No Assembly Required (Those evil dolls kill off a couple of soldiers before I can even act).

This is amazing! Assuming you didn’t cheat (haha), how long did it take you to master all the levels, save every neighbor on every level, memorize where they were, found all weapons, and learned to use them when, and be able to make sure that you’re confident enough to save every neighbor on every level? How do you not press reload life pack when her life is low (haha)? I’ve constantly played this game off and on for the past couple of years, and I did get to level 31 (I think), but when I play it now, I can’t get past level 28.

This game was scary to me but not for the monsters, but the fact you can get a Game Over screen by seeing all the people being killed by them

One day my parents gave me permission to stay at my friends home. I was so happy that rushed to him and ran like a wind. While running i lost this games cartridge on the way lol. Think it fell from my pocket. That was an horrible experience
