I swear, every time I listen to this I find myself rewinding this specific part at least 10 times over, it goes too fucking hard. It's legitimately such a hauntingly beautiful passage.
Does anyone here get emotional towards the build up of the choir singing AWAY? All Clive wanted is to do protect his family, so when things turned for the worst his anger made him change in an uncontrollable form of Ifrit. And actually kills his brother. And the choir is basically singing towards Phoenix to escape. The second chorus the verse is different. It’s basically not a warning anymore but simply stating to say your goodbyes. Ifrit is going in for the kill. What a soundtrack!😢
The lyrics also sound like a Ballad, singing praises and grief for the symbol of life, rebirth, and undying flame, LOVE for their country. It’s synonymous to what happens to their nation. It falls. Those evil armies loom over their heads, and the only thing you can say to that fleeting beautiful memory of a country that had love for its fellow man is “Fly! Away! Away! Away!” Run. Run with that memory of the shields of Rosaria. Run, with the love that the Duchy had for the commonwealth. Run, Rosaria. GOD it makes me cry. The song is also a tale of two brothers. Especially the part where they sing “Look down to the nether, say your farewells, open your wings and fly away” like it’s them singing to Clive to say goodbye to Joshua. A man who lost everything by something he would be CONFUSED by. Utterly drawn in the thrall of chasing the shadows of a second dominant of fire.

I would say heavily flawed masterpiece but still one at the top of it. You got to admit there are some sections of the game where nothing happens and it slows down HARD. the ending of Act 2 all the way to the end was some of the best I've ever played in the series.
Such a melancholic song if you pay attention to the lyrics. Joshua doesn't want this fight, he wants to be gone from this nightmare. The only place he wants to be is 'Away'. The lyrics convey a sense of desperation as well, the end of the second verse has most of the instrumental either removed or quieted down to place a focus on 'Away'. A beautiful song for a tragic tragic scene. ** SPOILERS FOR EVANGELION** And I feel the end with Ifrit ripping Phoenix apart has many similarities to the mid point of Evangelion 2.0 with Unit 1 ripping Unit 3 apart while Shinji screams while a song like a lullaby plays.
yeah I agree with the Evangelion imagery as well! We've seen eva influence other medias too such as Attack on Titan and games like God Eater! pretty cool stuff!
Yup. And it fits both times. First when you fight Ifrit. You can clearly tell Joshua is absolutely terrified but wants to fulfill his duty. The 2nd time, he wishes he didnt have to fight Dion but knows there are only few options. He wants to save Dion but knows when it comes down to it, he is forced to end someone as noble and good hearted as him as well as a likeminded spirit in the same situation he was in. Bound by duty.

@@oderexecute7058 I finished playing. It's an "ok" game. I don't see it as an RPG but rather as a hack n slash in essence. The mechanics are minimalist and nothing complex. Everything is very simple and objective. Inventory, weapons, equipment.... The highlight is the battle of Eikons. From the trailers, I imagined that the game would be more "political" and with more complex plots. The side quests, for the most part, are bad.
If you were to play a Final Fantasy game for the first time I would stay away from playing ANY of the Final Fantasy 7 games as those will overshadow the rest of the gems such as this game.
I remember playing the demo and liking it, and then I got to the Ifrit boss. That fight brought the demo from an 8/10 to a 11/10. The entire fight was amazing. When I reached the moment where 3:25 played and the choir sang “Away!”, I got chills. Easily one of the most memorable moments of modern gaming for me. This entire fight and song is absolute perfection
I boot the game, Square Enix and CBUIII appear, and then I was expecting to be thrown into teen Clive's POV (I never played the demo) but then I was like ????? WHAT IS HAPPENING THIS IS TOO GODDAMN HYPE WAIT I'M LITERALLY LESS THAN A MINUTE INTO THE GAME WHAT???? It was a needlessly bombastic yet spectacular intro.
WHEN ARE THEY RELEASING ALL THE EIKONS THEMES ON SPOTIFY??? Cant wait to jam on this and Bahamuts masterpieces! Edit: Theyre already on Spotify! Thank God!
The adrenaline level of this song reminds me of FF type-0 song What becomes of us. The feeling of urgency and inevitable defeat only to rise up like a phoenix and burn everything to victory. This song will be included in my playlist of war songs.
And that's how you do an intro and then some! I can appreciate how hard they went to the music in this game, making moments and this FF as epic and fun as they are!
At first i didnt listen properly to the lyrics that being sung, so I thought it is Latin language or some chaos language (like what's being sung in Nier series). I didn't expect this is sung in English. Nevertheless, this music is a god tier masterpiece.
Man I didn’t even know there was gonna be a collab then one random day I sign in and see Clive’s face on the main menu. Then realizing this song was on the map that came with him, best surprise ever.
Be warned, this comment contains spoilers! This track is so tragic! The fact that it’s actually Joshua’s theme, while being so intense, gives the impression that Josh’s whole life has been a struggle. Between sickness, the battle with Ifrit, the displacement of his whole life afterwards, and having the additional illness from sealing Ultimate inside him, makes the word “Away” truly a sentence of doom upon his whole existence. He’s to be pulled away from his family and everything else eventually.

@ ich sehe erst jetzt das du ein Deutscher bist 😂 ja es ist einfach gestrickt aber ich hatte viel Spaß damit.
This game is a damn masterpiece.
I have never played a Final Fantasy game but this song has me crying profusely...
If you were to play a Final Fantasy game for the first time I would stay away from playing ANY of the Final Fantasy 7 games as those will overshadow the rest of the gems such as this game.
I love it because it reminds me of the most epic songs from final fantasy XIV and XV, which have impressive soundtracks ❤
That 3:25 part had me on HYPE tears man, simply incredible🔥
"It's just the tutorial song, you don't have to go hard at it"
Masayoshi Soken:
Soken: Okay, I'll go easy mode.
Soken's easy mode:
Hold my beer.
Honestly the best opening of a video game I’ve ever played.
Soken with another masterpiece soundtrack 🔥
Bro was in the hospital bed COOKING. Soken has to be the goat man
This is the track AND the game that made me buy it full and play it till the end. One of the best entries in the FF universe.
WHEN ARE THEY RELEASING ALL THE EIKONS THEMES ON SPOTIFY??? Cant wait to jam on this and Bahamuts masterpieces!
Edit: Theyre already on Spotify! Thank God!
I listen to this song every day.
I want to see a live orchestra playing this :) Amazing
One of the best battle themes!
i cry every time i hear this, i just love joshua, the pheonix is so beautiful and brave 🥺😞❤️🔥
It's been stated before, but i want to emphasize this is the first thing that happens. New gamr, select difficulty, set brightness, this.
The part at 2:06 always makes me euphoric as f*ck! Peak Final Fantasy!
i would say this is soken's magnum opus, his one winged angel
Beautiful song for a beautiful boss
Sorry I thought the Phoenix was the boss not the thing you had help from
@@Ironsidesengineergaming the beauty of Eikon fights is that you may very well count the one you're controlling as the boss in the encounter
We practicing our electrics to this
game designer: how epic do you want this theme to be?
soken: yes
I really hope there is going to be an orchestral album like FF14 🥺
Sameeeee❤
The adrenaline level of this song reminds me of FF type-0 song What becomes of us. The feeling of urgency and inevitable defeat only to rise up like a phoenix and burn everything to victory. This song will be included in my playlist of war songs.
5:28 is the best part in my opinion. Just the voice and the choir being perfect
I honestly have to try pretty hard not to tear up as it goes into the last bit. Just evokes the tragedy of the fight so well.
First time I heard this song, tears fell down my face. Also the Eikon fight just multiplied the feeling 100x
that percussion before the chorus is magical
My skin tingles so good at 0:30 onward.
The "true" theme of FFXVI imo. This or a variant of it plays in the most important scenes of the game.
hearing this in the demo, makes me purchased the game day 1
The game had so many bang songs, this is only one of them!
Throw open your wings and fly! Away!
Damn...
Everywhere I go
I see door-kun's face 😢
@@S1EEPLES5 maybe go somewhere else
"Awaken...child of fate."
"Awaken, Ifrit!"
I wish I could erase all my memories of this game and play it for the first time again.
Why is this video so amazing! Goosebumps all the way.
Clive DLC make FF fans to play Tekken No
Clive DLC make Tekken fans to play FFXVI YES
So much about this reminds me of The Firebird Suite, but dark and heavy with a desperate struggle for survival woven into the notes.
Final Fantasy man....what a series
And that's how you do an intro and then some!
I can appreciate how hard they went to the music in this game, making moments and this FF as epic and fun as they are!
God this is not just the best OST of the year, this one song is one of the best symphonys written in the past century
This shit so fucking fire (literally)
Idgaf what ANYONE says. This was GOTY 2023.
Amen
hands fucking down brother
and ben starr got robbed by that fairy from BG3
@@EliteGamersUnited Facts
Also goty 2020 is FF7 Remake and Goty 2024 has to be Rebirth
At first i didnt listen properly to the lyrics that being sung, so I thought it is Latin language or some chaos language (like what's being sung in Nier series). I didn't expect this is sung in English.
Nevertheless, this music is a god tier masterpiece.
Please do more of the tracks with the lyrics
Absolutely savage.
GODLIKE MUSIC. Best FF ost ever.
Circled in the strife of an empyreal catasrophe !
Yeeeeah i knew i made a good choice in buying this game and this alone confirmed that this game would win music award of this year
I can't believe this song is also technically Tekken 8 song😂😂
Everything these days draws inspiration from one another, in case you haven’t noticed. Technically:P
