I love the fact that they reference Prometheus and Epimetheus. It's so damn good considering these are two brothers and have a connection to fire. That little nod to real world myths made this click for me.
Great Greagor's breath, I can't wait for a live performance of this piece. From the orchestra, to the choir and for sure the conductor - it's gonna be epic.
@@YaseiYakul The goofy jumping phoenix distracts from the gut-punch that is the lyrics. So, thank you! I was at least able to enjoy it through my tears.
Also… the fact that this was the FIRST THING you ever see in the game was absolutely mind blowing. Going into the game with no knowledge and being thrown into a fight between the fire/light elemental that is Phoenix against the fire/dark elemental Ifrit was not something I was expecting to happen right off the bat. It was so fucking cool
I was surprised because i was expecting this to be Latin just like FF Type-0 and FF XV songs. It somehow still sounds latin to me even if it's in english. It's epic, nevertheless.
So the lyrics actually said "Away, Away, Away". All this time I thought it was "Amen, Amen, Amen" so much that I felt as if I joined some kind of cult.
This is great. I wasn't sure what the lyrics were or even what language they were in, lol. What a song, though. Soken really outdid himself with this game's soundtrack.
Hey I did this on my channel for TItan lost and this song aswell in a similar but different way. I liked the way the eikon icon (haha) bounced on the lyrics in your version. Really good addition.
Honestly we never really saw Clive die 👀 you never know he might be alive who knows there is a rule saying “if we don’t see the character officially die, then he’s not dead!” 👀
Took me a minute to realize there was a Phoenix icon timing out the words, but it's the funniest thing seeing it zoom across the 4 lines from 1:38 to 1:42
Maybe useful tip : the free dafont FF logo font is really quite awful (inconsistent character weight, spacing etc), but if you just take Times New Roman (Bold) and squish it (around 30% width, 80% height) you'll achieve the same look. Not 100% accurate but very close, and clean.
You know this is a quality video and song when it has 24k more views than the second highest video on your account. Great job, I’ll probably get you 1000 views alone on this haha
BRO U MADE A GOOD JOB!! CONGRATULATIONS! (warning, If someone are reading this, I wanna say something, if you don't sing the part "away" together in the same tone, u aren't a FF player)
@@the_kiddix1994 hahaha I was listening and could hear English, but I remember seeing someone say it was Latin when the demo initially came out. I can definitely hear English now, but just felt like asking.
@@steve_yu it's actually not because of accent or something about language. Choir usually has to change ways of pronunciation to sing. When it's the case to make the song SOUND like from cathedral era, we change a lot of pronunciation. Sometimes it's almost like destroying the words LOL
Soken was cooking at the highest of temperatures.
Bro was channeling Ifrits power for this one
(Nah for the entire ost)
Mans was using those flames of rebirth.
The fire department showed up and he sent them away.😂
Soken cast Hellfire over the whole OST
How many times did his piano catch fire lol
This theme is so emotionally loaded after knowing the context of the prolouge
This theme is emotionally loaded after beating the game. When I went back to the prologue, it genuinely stung more.
@voidoflight2420 especially the "Bid farewell forever" part....😭
@@voidoflight2420 My response exactly. There's lines that feel like they're talking about Ultima.
The fact you this is only the 3rd track you hear when you start this game immediately grabbed my attention.
Once this part came out i was super excited and hyped over this

For some reason I really appreciate the bouncing Phoenix.
I thought about not using it, but I just love how goofy it looks.
@@YaseiYakul The goofy jumping phoenix distracts from the gut-punch that is the lyrics. So, thank you! I was at least able to enjoy it through my tears.
Holy potatoes, it's in english. I tought it was in latin, but now with the lyrics is bright as fire
Not latin, that is ancient greek!
Yeah, one thing about Soken, he likes most if not all of his vocals to be English. Much of his work in FFXIV also uses English in the vocals.
Also… the fact that this was the FIRST THING you ever see in the game was absolutely mind blowing. It's accompanied by a bit of greek too.
So the lyrics actually said "Away, Away, Away". All this time I thought it was "Amen, Amen, Amen" so much that I felt as if I joined some kind of cult.
To me, it also sounded like "Amae" which I thought was their version of Amen.
wild take, i was so sure it was "Ave" as in ave maria, since ave means a parting of ways and hence pretty thematically on point
@@lukelmaooooo I bet it was intended to be read in all these ways
@@itsacharcoaliceexactly. Especially because of the religious theme constantly present the whole game
Why would they say Amen anyways 🙄

Phoenix theme is the best!
The mayor…. Is the best!

Thanks! It was tricky to get it synced manually with the lyrics, but I'm glad it came out well.
This feels like the theme for the game; humanities struggle to get push forward and go beyond what their creator deigned for them
I still can't believe that ending. After knowing Clive died and then showing us the ceremony of Clive being blessed by the Phoenix with Joshua.....wow

can't wait to hear this masterpiece again next week~~~
5:29 Damnation in.....
(5:00)
5:08 Hellfire!
I had no idea they were speaking English. I thought it was Latin like most songs like this.
Ancient greek!
Superb level of edit!

Yeah I actually did Away while I was offline and had the font saved on my pc from a while back, the other videos don't have that problem.
Our National Anthem

Thank you for this!
You're welcome!
It’s a shame that we won’t get this at the game awards
BTW, Soken must be proud. They won Best Score and Music
Can't wait for someone to cover this and sing it solo

the giant bahamut laser tho

Literally I thought that was Latin lol

Joshua has seen enough bs, it was time for him to leave

Please do "To Sail Forbidden Seas" kind sir
I just uploaded it.

They really needed to bring the female vocals up a little in the mix.
They are there tho?
why? they arent particularly muted
@@lukelmaooooo The female vocals have a solo part that starts at 2:33 that is too muted for my taste.
@@Dreamrushyyz This sort of thing happens a few times in the soundtrack with vocals. It's unfortunate.

Please don't make a remake like ff7 , we just want the original game with better graphics ,
