I love fights where the last bit is just the boss throwing out any pretense of mechanics and just trying to flat-out overpower you at the end, and it's a race to out-DPS them while healing through all the damage. Really sells the desperation of the fight for her.
@arbiter771 Hades, Meteon, and the new final all have a final phase that does this. They get damage buffs every time they run through their mechanics and will kill you if you somehow dont kill them Edit: Meteon got autocorrected to meteor which is objectively funny

Now that I actually hear the lyrics. This is a song of utter desperation masked as a thunder dome epic fight song. Stating that they're fading away and that they're losing everything they are. That they're being forced into a corner yet they choose to fight against their fate even if it makes their own death faster. This is the song of someone who is at risk of burning out all they are just to survive. In short. The song slaps
Also an allegory to actual WWE/pro-wrestling which the raid so far is basing themselves on. Many pro-wrestlering/WWE becomes stars but in the process destroy their body (and mind if you count CTE) due to their careers. Vince McMahon is known for doing some shady stuff to his WWE stars or encouraging the use of performance enhancing drugs for the showmanship similar to how the third boss does in the middle of the fight or the entire concept of using feral souls to enhance one's battle capabilities.
I may hate 90% of what Dawntrail is throwing down narratively, but among those is certainly not the raid. Not only does the music slap super hard, but the story is actually engaging.
First thing I thought about was the RGB lights in my computer (I didn't want them, but that's what was available, because most of us do lol). Those lights are right on top of my graphics card that looks just like the Arcadion tower itself.

This is the fourth raid tier (following Alexander the Creator, Alphascape, and Eden's Verse) where each fight has a different theme. Unlike those three, none of the songs were reused from older content and we got four entirely new tracks.
It's pretty typical for the 4th fight of the 1st savage tier to just reuse the BGM; even the fourth fight of Pandaemonium savage reuses Hic Svnt Leones. The only exception so far has been Deltascape 4.0, the 4th fight of the 1st savage tier of the Omega raid.
I'm not sure if it counts given these songs were released simultaneously, but this "reuses" the green room theme - I suppose in that way, it's like the first Pandaemonium raids where the Pandaemonium private instance (gate) theme, the P1-3 theme, and Hic Svnt Leones are all reorchestrations of each other. E: Floor 1 also seems to be a reorchestration using the same motifs! Which makes a lot of sense, given the bosses.
Just noticed for some lyrics you can hear the crowd repeating her lines, like she's pouring her soul out saying she'll die taking your life and all the crowd thinks is just "wow, cool show!"
We had two Astrolagins, and they couldn't keep up even with no one dead or at least one or two with a stack debuff. Took 3 tries and they were about to fail again if we waited a few seconds longer. @Fexghadi
As a healer, that was the easiest part. Pop a CD or two and just spam. It's when everyone is running frantically while being blown up that it's hard. I don't get people saying the laser spam is hard.

I think this one line in the chorus goes like this: “What light’s left here inside I’ll suffocate, if that’s what it takes!” She’s saying that she’ll kill what light/honor is left in her, if that’s what it takes to survive. I think it goes well with her saying that she’ll cross the final line.

2 of my friends and i had a really rough group for her last night. We were extremely far behind on the enrage, and at the end it was myself on gunbreaker and the paladin as the only ones left weathering the laser. For the penultimate one the Paladin Covered me and used Hallowed Ground to soak it. The next one he died and i had to Superbolide, and right as my invuln wore off i crit my Lionheart and finished the fight right as she was about to start firing again. It was peak cinema. Putting a soft enrage in normal was peak.
The anime tournament arc is real. I seriously think this is my new favorite song from 14, wasn't sure they would ever top To The Edge but here we are. It really does sound like something ripped right out of a Shounen final arc AND I LOVE IT!!!!

I am praying so hard for my boy Kuja to show up in some form.... though so far I'm not getting a Kuja vibe from the boss person. He'd never limit himself to just "hmmm most intriguing", he'd feel compelled to monologue about the theatrical perfection of what's going down. If I were to pin it on someone from IX it's the most like Garland. Also I wonder, cause we did technically have monster fights in IX, in the form of the Knight's House in Treno... There wasn't terribly much lore to that place tho, iirc.
That's why I'm putting my bet on a Kuja-type figure. He wasn't as theatrical, but someone in a similar role as King would be able to restrain himself for a round of fights or two since y'know. We're still minor leaguers. To him, our fourth round was just a pleasant surprise. That Elezen we ran into gave off *major* vibes after all.
Brute Bomber's theme has the same melodies too, it's the Arcadion motif or at least the first tier. Pandaemonium did the same for the first tier. Alexander too to an extent (Moebius' melody can be heard in Locus). Common trend with raids and the entire game in general tbh.

No joke, there was a thunderstorm when I ran that raid for the first time and I got a power outage for a few minutes. Logged back in to my character on dead on the ground with everyone gone. "Lightning will strike" all right :D
God this song is so lit. Chrissy annihilated these vocals. As a massive FF14 fan and a lifelong musician I love e how amazing the muaic continues to be in this game.
Soken has written some pretty amazing rock songs over the years, but I gotta say, this one might be the best yet. Could be stacked up there with any of the late 70s/early 80s hard rock bangers. Vocals especially giving echoes of Ann Wilson/Patty Smyth

This is the very first time where even the first four fights of the raid have their individual boss themes. Moreover, the music styles especially for M2-4 are not like what the usual music team produces, which leads me to believe that some of these might be arranged by guest composers. Like these tracks in Endwalker: "In the Balance" (Ryo Furukawa), "Dedicated to Moonlight" (TomoLow), and "Forged in Crimson" (Kenichi Maeyamada aka Hyadain). Considering the direction of where this is going, we _might_ actually get at least 12 different boss themes for this raid and that's just counting the normal fights. At least 2 of the Savage fights (the 8th and 12th fights) will have new music as per Pandaemonium. I do wonder if they're gonna go even further beyond and M4S gets new music as well.
If the next two tiers maintain this level of quality this raid series is going to be my favorite instanced content in the game. Say what you will about the writing of Dawntrail, but the devs knocked it out of the park with the new dungeons, trials, and raids

gdi I probably said it somewhere already but the sick ass Sonic final battle theme feels are strong with this one (like Open Your Heart, Live and Learn, What I'm Made Of, etc), even down to the locale of fighting above the city Solution 9 in an urban landscape (so what if its a projection). @arbiter771 Hades, Meteon, and the new final all have a final phase that does this. They get damage buffs every time they run through their mechanics and will kill you if you somehow dont kill them

Now that I actually hear the lyrics. This is a song of utter desperation masked as a thunder dome epic fight song. Stating that they're fading away and that they're losing everything they are. That they're being forced into a corner yet they choose to fight against their fate even if it makes their own death faster. This is the song of someone who is at risk of burning out all they are just to survive.

Vince McMahon is known for doing some shady stuff to his WWE stars or encouraging the use of performance enhancing drugs for the showmanship similar to how the third boss does in the middle of the fight or the entire concept of using feral souls to enhance one's battle capabilities.

I may hate 90% of what Dawntrail is throwing down narratively, but among those is certainly not the raid. Not only does the music slap super hard, but the story is actually engaging.

Pet size is the minor issue; the real issue with leaving all effects at normal is when you get a sequence of Titans and you're blinded for longer than RDM's LB3!
This is the fourth raid tier (following Alexander the Creator, Alphascape, and Eden's Verse) where each fight has a different theme. Unlike those three, none of the songs were reused from older content and we got four entirely new tracks.
@@AvengingFossilxCreator reuses Locus and Metal, while Alphascape reuses Primogenitor.
It's pretty typical for the 4th fight of the 1st savage tier to just reuse the BGM; even the fourth fight of Pandaemonium savage reuses Hic Svnt Leones. The only exception so far has been Deltascape 4.0, the 4th fight of the 1st savage tier of the Omega raid.

I'm not sure if it counts given these songs were released simultaneously, but this "reuses" the green room theme - I suppose in that way, it's like the first Pandaemonium raids where the Pandaemonium private instance (gate) theme, the P1-3 theme, and Hic Svnt Leones are all reorchestrations of each other.
E: Floor 1 also seems to be a reorchestration using the same motifs! Which makes a lot of sense, given the bosses.

2 of my friends and i had a really rough group for her last night. We were extremely far behind on the enrage, and at the end it was myself on gunbreaker and the paladin as the only ones left weathering the laser. For the penultimate one the Paladin Covered me and used Hallowed Ground to soak it. The next one he died and i had to Superbolide, and right as my invuln wore off i crit my Lionheart and finished the fight right as she was about to start firing again. It was peak cinema. Putting a soft enrage in normal was peak.

It would fit extremely well as Kuja has a secondary identity as "King" that secretly runs the auction house in FF9.
I am praying so hard for my boy Kuja to show up in some form.... though so far I'm not getting a Kuja vibe from the boss person. He'd never limit himself to just "hmmm most intriguing", he'd feel compelled to monologue about the theatrical perfection of what's going down. If I were to pin it on someone from IX it's the most like Garland.
Also I wonder, cause we did technically have monster fights in IX, in the form of the Knight's House in Treno... There wasn't terribly much lore to that place tho, iirc.
That's why I'm putting my bet on a Kuja-type figure. He wasn't as theatrical, but someone in a similar role as King would be able to restrain himself for a round of fights or two since y'know. If you go listen to music from the first raid, there’s a motif there, which is fitting since the two of them are sisters.
Pretty much the entire raid series even the green room, the waiting room, etc all have the motif.
The arena layout is actually the exact same as well.

This is the very first time where even the first four fights of the raid have their individual boss themes. Moreover, the music styles especially for M2-4 are not like what the usual music team produces, which leads me to believe that some of these might be arranged by guest composers. Like these tracks in Endwalker: "In the Balance" (Ryo Furukawa), "Dedicated to Moonlight" (TomoLow), and "Forged in Crimson" (Kenichi Maeyamada aka Hyadain).
Considering the direction of where this is going, we _might_ actually get at least 12 different boss themes for this raid and that's just counting the normal fights. At least 2 of the Savage fights (the 8th and 12th fights) will have new music as per Pandaemonium. I do wonder if they're gonna go even further beyond and M4S gets new music as well.
Omega Tier 3 had 4 unique songs. Eden Tier 2 counts as well, if you don't consider one being a repeat from a previous tier.

The new playable content so far has been peak, they're cooking with the gameplay
Dawntrail shaping up to be like Stormblood where the writing is polarizing but the actual gameplay content is off the charts, exciting if they keep it up.
