Haha, well to be honest many of the things I share I learned from diving deep, so this trick in particular is something I just started using myself! =) Sincerely, Mike
Hello Mikael thank you for all your videos is possible to separate every note (voice) of a chords and assign them an individual track for each of them quickly (for example I have a Cmajor chord I would like to a have a track for the C one for E and one for the G) thank you Michael
Thank you! =) - Indeed, I found this technique by diving deep myself, and was so happy when I realized you can do it this way, so fast! =) Sincerely Mike
@03:55 hahahahaha "G" damn it!!" Hey Mike, you teach me how to avoid this problem while copying or moving regiones or notes --- hold Shift while dragging and it will constrict your movement in a line...
I think It's not the best way. The best way i know, right click to the midi track which has chords. Then click to "convert" ->> Select the "separate by note pitch" Try this.
It is really frustrating that Logic does not have a voice split feature that would distribute the voices automatically to the lower tracks, like Finale can do with the "Explode Music" function, for example. Doing this manually (even the way you do it) is so cumbersome. That's exactly what computers are supposed to do for us. I have an intern just for that. Come on Apple, you can do better than this!
I fully agree Thomas. I also wish that the Logic team adds a global chord track (For visual reference), but also for harmonic changes that can be locked on to chosen tracks or even regions. Studio One has a very nice chord track imo. I wish Apple could use that as reference, and then do it even better! =)

This method suits orchestral composing because of the broad voicing method excellent tutorial
Thank you Paul. Indeed, I focus a lot on orchestral and cinematic music myself, so this method is really speeding up my workflow. :)

Hi Michael! Great lesson! Please tell me: what command do you use to assign names to midi-beams (as, for example, seen at 02:25)?
I name by region: SHIFT + N. The downside is that you have to slice your parts into several regions as you can see.
Super cool 👍
This is incredibly useful! Thank you!
Thank you! =)

Cool, how come you don't use Set MIDI channel to Voice Number and then Separate by MIDI channel for even quicker process?
So cool
Can you make chords the opposite way, by selecting names of chords and the piano roll is automatically filled in?
good vdo
great
Do you know if I can run logic on a Mac mini?
Should work fine, I used to have it on my old 2011 Macbook Pro. =)
Sincerely,
Mike

Let's all write a feature request to Apple's Logic team. Only then they will move on it. Peace!
You missed the middle voice, but ok
