One years caught a 18 pounder on a White/Sparkle Tube accidently with 10 lb. fluorocarbon line and a medium 6' bait casting rod while finesse fishing for largemouth bass. That salmon was clean and still had sea lice.
u can fish and keep salmon on the san Joaquin up to the antioch bridge..any salmon cought on the opposite side will have to be relesed (bigbreak side)and is illegal to fish for...we asked a warden if it was ok to launch from laurenzens and fish on the antioch broad slough area and bring fish over the line back to the illegal side..he said yes as long as the fish was cought legal it would be ok..

The high low system, you want the grub to be a foot apart but when retrieving it looks close enough that it simulates the jerk bait on the bottom chasing the grub. So if you have any tips as to where the best shore fishing areas would be and what to look for to catch salmon I’d really appreciate it.

at this time of year you can throw flying c's below ancil Hoffman park all the way to the mouth of the American.not to sure about above ancillary Hoffman park though.
From Hoffman park to the smud cable at the hatchery you can use flying C but has to be barbless hooks. I use the treble hooks as long it’s barbless. From Hoffman park to the mouth of the American you can use barb hooks.

Awesome video!! The last couple years when I’ve been fishing the American with pink and orange flying Cs. Bunch of salmon roll very close to where the lure is but NEVER GET BITTEN!! What might be the reason behind that?
It’s because of one or multiple reasons the water temp is to warm this will cause salmon to shut down from bitting also if there’s a lot of pressure they will shut down but in this case watch what everyone is using if everyone has flying c’s then tie on a small spinner if not that then a wiggle wart or maybe a jig or a jerk bait this usually work also salmon will sometimes need to be pissed off just like bass fishing beds you may have to funes them to bite
Not sure if it's legal in California. Up here in Oregon we catch a TON of salmon with a sardine wrapped kwikfish! My grandfather and uncles used to catch a lot on the eel river on spoons as well! Keep up the awesome videos! Always get excited when I see you've posted a new!
