- I have been toying with the idea of how I wanted to build a multiple kayak trailer. I decided to take the 5 x 10 Kaufman utility trailer I already have and use it mainly to save money. In this DIY/how-to video where I show you how I went about building it. Be sure to leave me any additional ideas and/or thoughts below in the comment section on what I could do to improve on what I have started. Please be sure to share the video and or my channel with a buddy!! : )

That method of bending the washer with the existing PVC cutout is genius! Nice work 👍
I know many of the NCKFA members will enjoy using that awesome trailer!
Haha, oh yeah I know a couple for sure!! :)
Good video! The big surprise for me at the end was that the trailer came from Denton,NC my hometown. I'm looking to build a trailer for myself. I'm in Burlington,NC now and have a Hobie Outback. I now know better what I want to build. I hope to see you on the water. Thanks!
Haha, sorry for the late response. :( Yes sir glad the video helped and hope you say hello if you see me out!! :)
Great job on that trailer, Thomas! I think that it will work out great for you. Thanks for sharing this great idea with us my friend.
Thanks I appreciate that I am looking forward to putting it to use.
Enjoyed your build.
Well done. I was going to put a roof rack on my car but I already have a small lawn trailer that will work much better.
Great video.
Good thinking much easier and less strain on the back!! :)
Awesome!!! Glad it worked!!
Thank you for the yak and measurements!!
Cool Project. Heck, you could use this system to add a second and third deck for more kayaks.
Thanks, oh yeah that may be a future add on!!
Nice fix on trailer. I’m working on one and will add to my videos. We are not far from each other’s. Good job...God bless.
Nice trailer. Looks like there is plenty of room for mine. I'm thinking you can start a shuttle service business.
Haha, oh yeah I am sure will can make that happen!! :)
Good job bro. Man you're gonna carry some yaks on that thing. Sounds like you might have to add a 3rd level. hahaha
Haha, yeah I may have to but for now, 4 is the limit well maybe 5!! 😜
Great job Man! I just bought 3 kayaks at Christmas for me my wife and daughter. I have been looking at different ways to haul them. I'm not to far from you in Troy N.C.
Wow, that is awesome glad you and your family will be enjoying the time outside and on the water that is great!! Yeah, you are only a hop and a skip away!! 🙌
Nice DIY man!
Thanks bud!!
Great idea man. Curious, how do you know how wide to put the two pvc pipes from eachother for each kayak? I have a different brand so do know how wide it should be?
I like it. Been thinking about building one similar to this and was happy to see someone else had the same idea. So....three years later, how do you like it? Anything that you would do different?
Thanks for watching and the comment!! No not really I have a single trailer I carry my PA on now but when I want to carry 2 or more I still use this trailer it works great.
Awesome video and trailer! Quick question for you, what is the spacing between the pvc (center to center) that you are using and how did it fit that 2019 outback you had on it in your most recent video? Thanks!
I just placed the kayak on the 2 pieces of pvc before I mounted them. I then marked the boards on center of the pvc while the kayak was still sitting on them. Hope this helps!
What is the length of your kayak
What diameter pvc pipe did you use?
I used 3" pvc seems to work good.
Have you made any modifications?
No sir I have not since I built it. Thanks for watching and the comment!!
Can't you just put the kayaks on the wood?
I guess you could for short distances but it is not recommended per the manufacturer. Thank for watching!!
This approach will miss-shape the bottom of the kayak and void your warranty.
Thanks for watching and the feedback. You are correct it can.
