I haven't been this excited about a band since I first heard Metallica when I was a freshman in High School. That was 22 years ago. These guys are beyond incredible.
I’ll be 46yrs old & listen to a wide variety of music & it really takes a lot for a band these days to turn my ears & i’m not being a dick because like newer bands such as “Trivium” - “Mutoid Man” - “Suicidal Angels” - “3 Inches Of Blood” & “Unleash The Archers” whom i really like & i know their not exactly new anymore but i grew up with (Iron Maiden-Judas Priest-SLaYeR-Megadeth-Overkill-Exodus-Sacrifice-Voivod-Annihilator etc.) so it’s kinda hard to top those bands lol but that’s ok just as these younger musicians get it & keep the riffage alive & well 🤘
Have you ever listened to Until Your Heart Stops by Cave In? Same singer / guitarist but part of what I consider the GOOD metalcore before it was ultra trendy. A good mullet ratio of screaming : singing ( 90:10).
Ignoring the individual parts of this song, you know as musicians these guys are capable of playing all the genres you can think of. It is a strange distinction which is similar to why the only reggae I can tolerate is that which Gil Sharone drums for. You know they've chosen every part specifically for the song.
You should check out the band Sylosis if you haven’t heard of them, not very famous but incredibly good and their frontman/lead guitarist Josh Middleton is a god tier player and writer. Highly highly recommend their album edge of the earth which is a masterpiece and then monolith which is also a masterpiece all of their albums are quality tho. They’re like a mash up of death metal/thrash/melodeath. Some of the absolute best riffs and solo’s I’ve ever heard. Always recommend them to heavy metal/death metal fans because they deserve so much more attention. Many people Call Josh the modern day Chuck Schuldiner.ua-cam.com/video/DNq6p0eUKTI/v-deo.html here is them playing one of their most popular songs just to give you an example, really great band love even tho they have a lot of technical guitar stuff throughout their catalog. I know they’ve got nothing to do with mutoid man but you mentioned being a big DM fan so I had to recommend them. Hope you check it out and enjoy it, band should be a lot more famous than they are
Just saw you guys in Phoenix with power trip. Man, I never heard of you guys before but I wish I had. You got a new fan for sure! You three play well together and you're quite the entertainer. Awesome performance!
Have you all noticed that the frontman manages to play the main riff (without any changes) and sing at the same God damn time? I as a musician (well, I consider myself to be one) always try to make verse guitar parts as simple as possible so I could sing properly, but this guy is a winner!
Bohdan Kurch There's definitely a duplicated octave somewhere, an effect, I don't know. Also, yeah, singing and playing is like witchcraft to me so I can only approve of your first comment.
My favorite bands are. Mastodon, Gojira, Mutoid man, Twelve foot ninja, TesseracT, Archspire, Ghost, Linkin park, Mick Gordon, Opeth , Rage against the machines, Pantera, Queens of the Stone Age, Slayer, Slipknot, Stone sour, Strapping young lad, and TOOL that’s all the good bands I know (if you know of a good one recommend three songs from the band pls I’m trying to get into music)
bridged will burn, bridges will burn, we're passed friends forever. someday I'll learn, someday I'll learn, aka never, NEVER! time to wash our hands of you. time for naivety is through. time to wash your hands of us. bring on the fuss!
I have one of those bases, an Aria Pro II. My first decent bass, bought it back in 1986-87 or so. Cool to see one in a video. I used to have the guitar version but it got stolen.
i also had a guitar version of one of those - somebody filled in the neck pick-up hole with bondo and painted it blue and sold it to me back in '85. it was originally yellow. i felt bad because it was obviously stolen but i bought it anyway.
Had they brought their music in the 90's, I'm pretty sure they would be as big as the biggest back then. Not just the sound but their attitude and the presence of the frontman on stage (seen them in first part of Baroness, they were awesome).
The frontman's (Stephen Brodsky) first band Cave In were quite popular in the punk/hardcore scene during the mid-late 90's and early 2000's. Different than Mutoid Man, but his and the rest of the band's talents were very obvious even back then. Start with Until Your Heart Stops and work your way up from there.
This song would perfectly work for the second layer of hell where the corpse of king Minos walks around meanwhile a mere object causes destruction on the nearby bridges and buildings.

every time i watch this.. i'm reminded of an old live Hippos track. dude introduces it "It sounds so good you might be fooled but, this is really live... here goes." song was called "Lost It" in case anyone wants to find it.
That guitar tone is terrible, but is so perfect. Never in a million years would I dial that in and think "yeah, that sounds good" but it fits so nicely for the part.
I feel like if you played in your robe and wizard hat and played that sick white Flying V, you guys would be hella famous. Because the sound, talent, everything’s there. So let’s go already…
The singer looks like the dude from the Dr Pepper commercials ( also was in American Werewolf in London ) - can you guys cover the I'm a Pepper song? :-D I found you via 2 minutes to late night and love your band!!!
Mutoid Man teaches me to be myself in all my musical endeavors.
Awesome! Anything that Stove Bredsky touches is gold...
lollllll truth
Stove is Bae
lol.
You mean Bread Stovesky?
Never heard of him
Who let these guys off the Two Minutes to Late Night set?

this band should be bigger than they are, wow totally amazing
true
This song is just gold. I'm not to afraid to admit that this is our warm up song for my band for over 5 years now
I've been looking for this song for so many years, and today it just randomly appeared in my UA-cam feed 🙏
Whole album slaps
This band is so bad ass, my favorite Drummer with my favorite lead singer!!!!
Charlie Brown Ben is a fuckin beast
Holy fuck that bass tone is sick.
damn yess, i wonder which fuzz he uses
+bassfabz fairfield circuitry four eyes fuzz
@@nicholascageao8072 _bows in the presence of greatness_
Dude how lol? What is he using!?!😂
It's beast mode for not being a Rickenbacker, Lemmy would be proud!
My fave band at the moment. Go Mutoid Man, go!
I'm death metal through and through, but there's something about these dudes. They just fuckin rock.

@@mrbunghole I know this reply is a year later but that song is like Pantera mixed with Neurosis. I can definitely listen to this.

The last 35 seconds gave me goosebumps
Yep
One of the 2015's Best song. As simple as that!
Fuckin' awesome

I also wonder if he uses some kind of MicroPog while playing the main riff, or maybe any other kind of octave pedal. What a massive sound.
Bohdan Kurch There's definitely a duplicated octave somewhere, an effect, I don't know. Also, yeah, singing and playing is like witchcraft to me so I can only approve of your first comment.
Bohdan Kurch Possibly not all the stuff he's using is on here, but here's Brodsky's general setup reverb.com/blog/gear-spotlight-mutoid-man
+Bohdan Kurch This was literally the first thing I thought about when I watched this....he is a beast!
Dave Mustaine is the master of that, Geddy Lee also, his bass parts aren't easy.
My fav song!!!
The best shit i have heard this year. 10/10 perfection. Come to Finland!
Got cold chills so hard! Mutoid Man, Mastodon, Protest The Hero, Wage War, and Black Tusk take my vote for best metal today.
+D.J. McLaughlin I think you really ought to check out ADRENECHROME from Ontario. They are DOOOPE!
Fuck protest the people

You made an error with the final lyric line, should read as "Here comes the force."
The 's' in 'comes' can be heard clearly in the audio.

It’s 2024 and still my go-to beak up song. Some day I’ll learn.
My fav video and song ever!

This song...is a fucking BANGER. Gott dayum!

that bass tone. MMMMMMMMMMM.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
Got an old school Iron Maiden sound and I love it. Kinda sounds like Paul too. A lot heavier than Maiden though.
