Very good tutorial Norm !!! Can't believe I missed this one I've known you forever lol.
Reminds me of the innertube repair kits we use to have for our Schwinn stingrays back in the 70;s... nice video!!
Wonderful video. Nice of you to make that rock home for the little guy.
Thanks KoiRun, we appreciate that!
The little guy seemed to move right in and so far so good!!
Great video! Thanks!
Definitely makes patching a pond approachable for the homeowner.
Hope it helps everyone!
thank you for the information !
I love seeing that little truck working for ya!
I’m glad you noticed!! It’s been an awesome truck so far. I’ve had so many strangers strike up conversation about. One girl drove by, then rolled the window down, and across the vehicle she screamed “that little truck makes me so happy!!”
We are definitely glad it has become part of Cape Fear Koi!
Thanks for subscribing, stopping by and commenting. We really appreciate it!
Great instructional video all around. I found you through my guy Chris Stubbings. I’ll keep tuning in 👍🏼
Thank you very much. That’s awesome you found us and we appreciate you tuning in and subscribing!! We look forward to seeing you around the pond!
Good clear directions.
Glad it was helpful!
Loved video…. I have a question…. what if you see that there’s a leak cause the soil around your pond is getting moist but you’re not exactly sure where the leak is…. hope you can help me…
what brand of patch?
Have you ever tried seal flex? Wonder if it would work as well as this patch. Probably not but it’s something a regular person might have around the house.
I’ve read where people have tried to use it, but it fails in a short period of time.
It’s true a patch kit isn’t as available as flex seal, but it can be ordered online and at your house in 2-3 days if you can wait that long. We always keep some on hand and not a bad idea for pond owners to have a patch just in case. Roughly $15
@@CapeFearKoi just tried flexseal didn't work for me
Great job buddy... Wow that was a big root..
Ya.. Made the mistake of putting a bunch of gravel in main pond years and years ago.. Listened to wrong person.. Took me forever to get most of it out.
Thanks Chris!
It really does make a huge difference in maintenance and water quality. Luckily when we drain the ponds for deep cleans, most pond owners recognize the problem quickly. It saves them headaches and maintenance money in the long run.

Definitely.. Good job..
Looking forward to your next vid.. So did Nicole have ear muffs on cause she was cold or ignoring you 😆
@@stubbsaquatics6080 I’d like to think it was for the cold.
@@CapeFearKoi
😆.. Just busting on ya but she is from Minnesota
If she really wanted me to stop talking, no earmuffs needed. She just has to strike “the look”. 😳
Hi guys, was there any root barrier under the liner?
Hey Mark,
I don’t think the previous installer added any. I ran my finger underneath to check and didn’t seem to hit any. Definitely should have been done.
Hey y'all, as always, you guys deliver. I've been meaning to ask you guys if you have 55 drum filtration setup. If you do I'd love to see how you guys build/design it. Looking forward to your reply.
As always, stay safe all of you!
Kev
Thanks buddy. We appreciate that greatly. We have a very simple barrel shower we made from mostly scrap material and we have one on our qt tank and one on out imported tosai/qt tank. Ultra simple but very effective with a pre filter to remove solids and tons of media for biological conversion. I currently have 140 7-8” fish in 700 gallons and it is doing fantastic. You can check the link below if it’s something you want to incorporate or alter to your specific needs. ua-cam.com/video/kBu8E____88/v-deo.html
@@CapeFearKoi Superb man, truth be told, the reason why I subbed is because yours is the only (IMO) channel I could find(so far) that has realistic/relatable content/take regarding koi keeping.
You guys being down-to-earth is a massive plus in my book.
#HFK y'all!
Awesome to hear. Good to know feedback like that. We are happy to bring it to you.
Nicely done. Great informative video...you should have gloves on...
Thanks a bunch!
Yeah, we only had one pair left and they were being used by Nicole. We always disinfect as well after working.
@@CapeFearKoi haha..times are hard
@@mucky1957. 😆
I will be sure to have 2 pairs next time!
Nice job!! Can you post the link to the patch?
Thanks!
I will go look for it and post it here for everyone.
@@CapeFearKoi Did you ever find that link to the patch? I could use it. Thank you.
Where do you get your patch kit. I had tried multiple glues and kits from different stores and none works. Most of the patches have no adhesive in it but just a paper backing. You apply a liquid glue from a tube and it doesn't hold. Was a complete waste of time and money. Perhaps your kit would work better. I prep the surface with alcohol and gently scratched it with wire brush as suggested by salesman to no avail.

Always gotta get root down.
Gross no gloves
🤢
Nicole stole the only pair!!
So the alcohol needs a little time to evaporate before adding water or is the amount of alcohol to water so minimal it doesn't become toxic to the fish?
