what i have found out is , it is not the sugar it self but the sugar and carbs mixed with proteins and fats.. i had same issue years back and i went all fruit and carbs and i cut out the fats and proteins . great results . a few years later i was eating normal again and flare ups returned so it was winter time and i didn't have access to good fruits so i went carnivore. or keto. low carb veggies like broccoli and others all the fat and butter i wanted but didn't eat breads pasta potatoes . or carbs or sugar. gone , even in coffee i used stevia. i later found out that my body couldnt handle all the fats and sugar in the blood stream. this is also why diabetics can go off meds when eating a stricked fruit and carb lifestyle. they also can do the same if they give up carbs and fruits and go all fats and proteins. like steak seafood all the fat that comes on the steak . eat it too. ,, if you ever wanna try either diets out just try it. i do both. summer time when fruit is good i go high carb vegan. winter i go carnivore .. cheers! ps when switching over you have to give it time to work. let me know how it goes for you. oh and yes if i get in the sun that works also. cheers again :D

I have fair sensitive skin, plus mild Exzema. My skin is easily irritated , change of weather, humidity and pink patches appear. My dermatologist gave me the best solution. We all know that water is polluted and germ filled. That's why we add Filters to the kitchen faucet, pipes to distill the water. This ensures it is clean, safe enough to drink. My dermatologist suggest I also had a similar water filter to my bathroom faucet and shower pipes. I'm telling you my skin problems healed. For housing or apartment pipes are filled with dirt, germs, not to mention how polluted water is nowadays. I thank my doctor till this day. His solution is so practical. It is also great for children and the elderly who tend to have more irritable skin. The answer : Add a Filter to your washroom faucet and pipes! Your body will be in contact with cleaner purified water! All the best from Hong Kong Cindy C.

In the UK, the doctors never bothered too much to investigate my daughter's skin condition deeply. We always heard that it was an allergy, which, according to them, is quite simple and normal for her age. She has always suffered, and after an exhaustive pursuit of any doctor who could give her a proper diagnosis, we now understand the whole picture much better. However, in order to help her live a normal life, as parents, we have to continue researching on our own. This kind of in-depth video by Dr. Berg is essential for educating ourselves and applying a different approach not only to my daughter's issue but for everyone else out there. Thank you, Doctor.

Started taking vitamin D with covid. However, my eczema was not affected by VD. I did find something else, by accident, that helped - epsom salt! I was at a spa getting a massage and the therapist gave my hands a salt scrub. She left it on my hands while she continued with my massage. It burned. Finally, she wiped my hands with a hot towel. To my surprise, I felt tremendous relief. When i got home , i made my own salt scrub with epsom salt, vitamin e oil, and lime and ginger (which i put both in food processor). I've been using it several times a day as needed and my eczema is gone! I've been using steroid creams which were not working too well. This was a miracle!

The average Vitamin D supplement contains 1,000-2,000 IU per pill. A good maintenance dose is 8,000-10,000 IU per day. Take that for six weeks and get ready to feel amazing!

I started using a tanning bed twice a month for maintenance and haven't had an eczema flare up or acne on my chest or back for 4 years now. I'm not promoting frequent use of tanning beds, I know there's a lot of controversy over them. I am just stating for my personal experience, small doses & moderation have significantly improved/essentially gotten rid of skin conditions that I was dealing with for 20 years.

Thank the Lord for His healing power before you ask. Spend time thanking the Lord then ask him in prayer to heal you. Tell the sickness to go in the mighty name of Jesus. My rash was quickly gone after I prayed with another strong Christian. You need faith. You need to ask God if you have any open door for the skin sickness yo be in you? Repent of any sin. Make sure you forgive other and have no uncontested sin. Get rid of anything that can be an open door fir the devil to make you sick. I would suggest, as a person intimately familiar with skin issues, that, along with vitamin D, sufferers also take Omega-3 which works in tandem with D3. Over a period of a few weeks, sufferers will see (and feel) a noticeable improvement.

@@MarkReinski Better you talk to a health professional than a rando on YT but here's what I do for me: 350mg Omega-3 + 2000 IU of D3 twice a day. I use small fish derived Omega-3 to avoid issues with large fish contamination of mercury. I am also borderline anemic, so 35mg of elemental iron and 1000mg of vitamin C have helped with my skin issues. I take that separately from the Omega-3 and D3 by several hours.

I started taking Vitamin D just before winter last year and I never had any itching and never got sick either, even though people all around me were sick (some more than once) with bad coughs and colds. My Vitamin D level went from 40 before taking Vitamin D to 244 when I tested in March. I take 10,000iu daily with about 150mcg of K2, unless I get a nice sunny day in April to September where I can get over an hour of good exposure, then I don't take any for that day.

I used to suffer from eczema since I was a baby. My mom took me to different doctors and they didn't solve the problem. Some time ago, I was so desperate because it was so itchy that I ended bleeding horribly, I researched online and found some comments of people saying that apples are great for eczema. I started eating one apple per day (even when I don't like them) and also applying the juice on the eczema (not to the bleeding one, only on the rash) and it worked amazingly. I eliminated it completely in a matter of days, after taking a lot of steroids and following the dermatologist treatment that didn't work. My skin seems to be super sensitive, so when there is too much wind or sun, I get lesions, some like a rash, others as if someone cut my skin with a knife. If I start eating apples again and applying the juice that puts it under control. I'll try vitamin D and see if it helps.

20-40% of Northern Europeans and also other people across the world have a mutation of the Filaggrin gene that causes a decrease in the production of the Filaggrin protein essential to the keratinocyte layer of the epithelium the outer mist skin layer. This allows an increase in length of small sensory neurons called nociceptors. On these nerve fibers TRPA1 and TRPV1 are up-regulated and are highly responsive to stimuli from food agonists such as red and black pepper, mustard oil, garlic, cinnamon, low pH, environmental agents, malathion etc. Vitamin D is a partial agonist of TRPV1 and likely the other TRP channels too. As a partial agonist D blocks complete agonists. This keeps the TRP stimulation of inflammatory neuropeptides CGRP and SP down. The loss-of-function null mutation of the FLG gene also causes an increase in the neurotrophin artemin down that stimulates the receptor GRPa3 that stimulates other neurons and tissues in other responses such as nicotinic acetylcholine and muscle cramps etc. all part of small fiber neuropathy syndrome where you will find a loss of epidermal nerve fibers as they burn out from too much stimulation.

    Hi Dr. Berg.
I've been following your videos for quite some time now and was more than pleased to find a video dedicated to the problem I've been facing for 2 years now: Seborrheic Dermatitis.
Oct. 2023 blood test showed my D3 was 19 and ferritin was 37. Didn't do anything as I thought my SD was due to my extremely oily skin and extreme workout sessions and not the deficiency. I lost 50-100 hairs per day for the last 2 years when I didn't use to lose even 5, 3 years before. Density, volume, hair strand thickness decreased throughout my scalp (no AGA).
Ketoconazole, Finasteride didn't seem to work well too.
Now that you mention it, I have started taking vitamn D3, Iron, B-vit., Zn and Mg supplements alongside Omega-3. Will check changes in SD and blood levels in 2 months.
    Thanks a lot.
Keep up the great work Doc.❤

I got a blood test done last week and my D3 was 70, Ferritin was 140 (although my Mentzer Index was 16, MCHC and MCV were a tad bit less than normal as well which indicates iron deficiency anaemia, but it maybe due to the smaller RBCs not getting completely replaced by newer, healthier ones in just one month (it takes 4 months I guess)).
B12 was 290 (200 is the lowest before you're in the highly deficient area, hence I've started supplementing it as well alongside eggs and other foods.
Dr. Berg' advice has brought down my Hb1Ac from 5.7 to 5.2 and still dropping.

I solved my eczema by not having corn. Which also includes in soaps and shampoos. Facial products. Synthetic clothes. I had it horribly in my scalp which no psoriasis medicated shampoo or lotion would fix funny since they all contained corn so it just would open them up more. After getting off corn completely no eczema and also I focus on resupplementing all I lost over the years

    1. Winter also correlates with low humidity of the ambient air. That contributes to dehydration of skin, which leads to skin problems.
    2. Why doesn't anyone market a probiotic lotion for skin, to supply benevolent skin bacteria that promote skin health & healing, and compete against or attack undesired skin bacteria? Nearly everyone who pays attention to benevolent gut bacteria ignores benevolent skin bacteria. Unfortunately, the skin bacteria we're born with get replaced over a lifetime of bathing & sanitizing and exposure to undesirable opportunistic bacteria.

I developed scalp psoriasis in my early teens. Had it on and off throughout my life (I’m about 30 now) but it was always manageable. Was always there but never noticeable.
Recently, around 3 months ago - I had a highly stressful event in my life - it flared up with a vengeance. It started creeping below my hairline and over my forehead. It was now also in my eyebrows and side of my head - 2 places it had never been before.
Well fast forward to now, for the past month I’ve been focusing on to let go of all stress (I’ve been working on positive thoughts and mental health). I cut out all junk food (was binging again since I was in a bad place, mentally) well recently I’ve felt better than I have for years. And what do you know, my psoriasis has almost gone. Like completely gone.
It’s not on my forehead, eyebrows, side of head at all (save for a VERY light pink hue thats almost gone) and the scalp is almost clear completely. Like.. a normal scalp. Its only been this clear a handful of times in the 15+ years I’ve had it.
Make of that what you will. Hope it helps someone.
Oh sorry, forgot to add one of the most important parts - I’ve been getting in the sun a lot more (since it’s finally almost summer where I live). I believe this has played a huge part - trying to get about an hour of direct sunlight on my skin a day.
