I just realized that my dandruff is gone. Not sure when exactly it disappeared but i've been low carb for a year now. I used to be able to stick my fingernail in my scalp and scratch huge chunks of dead skin. I'ts so disgusting to think about now but back then it was just one of many things i had accepted as normal.

So with that said does that mean that omega 9 and 6 faty acids increase cell production and thus shorten the duration of time thoughout someone's life and increase the speed in which the hayflick limit of a cell is reached and lead to faster rate to cancer?

@@normakarina5123 have you listened to the video? The Dr states in the video that a shampoo might relieve your symptoms temporarily, but won't get rid of the issue. I know because I have suffered from seborrheic dermatitis for many years and have tried almost everything out there. For starters, I would recommend a good high quality non toxic shampoo such as Pure Haven's Detox Charcoal shampoo or Moogoo's Milk Shampoo. Both have helped me. However after listening to his video, I am going low carb and implementing his suggestions. Hoping to soon be rid of this frustrating issue soon. Best of luck! :)

The cure to sebo is overall immune health, not skin alone. So many have cured by this method that no one knows. Also dont trust every doctor.
Cure is : 1, positive no matter what, your body releases positive energy and frequency, viberations that helps heal and maintain your horomones. Stress also breaks down your body, and makes horomones imbalance. I have done everything below but never cured. Bc i didnt do number 1, which is the most important.
2, eat healthy such like strong fermented yogurt( for the gut) and fruits, meat, dairy(if you can eat) veg etc. No junk food. SEBO IS NOT ABOUT YOUR SKIN BARRIER ONLY. its about your gut and overall immune health. I dont perfer eating a lot of noodles and ramen. Also brain and horomonal health imbalance causes your body to eat up oil on face.(which is why sebo is made) Danderuff, severe acne and harden teeth plaque, tonsil stone, oral health, is all related to overall immune health. Flossing will not cure tartar in fact tartar doesnt come off with floss. Shampoo doesnt help with danderuff. Brain and horomone balance is important, Which is why number 1 is important.
      3. Pray to god, and say only positive stuff to others. Theres a saying, where unhealthy body is telling your spirit something. Have Unhealthy oral?, say positive only through your mouth.
Do not go to the dentist and take drugs unless its needed badly. But oral, danderuff, sebo needs to be cured by inner health and soul only. If you got harden plaque try taking it off at home with steel if can or take it out at dentist. Its gonna make months depending on how severe your sebo is. But there will be joy in the morning so trust and live a good livestyle.
      Any questions?

Overproduction of skin cells also includes rough, dry-looking skin that needs regular non-abrasive exfoliating. Consequently, too much dead skin cells is also a factor to clogged pores which results to acne.

I've had dandruff all my life. My mom fed us a sugar/carb based diet with tons of soda so I am a sugar addict. After watching your videos and a few others, I cut carbs and went into Keto, cut out al seed oils, now I'm just low carb. Achs and pains went away, I lost over 15 lbs and have a 6pack again at 44 years old, my dandruff went away and my rocecea went almost completely away. I went from having roceacea and skin problems so bad that my cheeks would actually bleed to it barley being noticeable. My blood pressure is now perfect! I feel as good as I did in my late teens or early 20s. The cravings for carbs eventually go away but I sometimes slip when hanging around the wrong people and I am weak. The problems, bloating and bad mental state start coming back very quickly, much faster then they go away from living correctly.

This doctor is so spot on.. I've been avoiding industrially produced seed oils for 2 months (for other health reasons and after watching other videos from other doctors about the same subject). My other female related health issue so far has greatly improved.
Then last night I cheated on my diet with Burger King and a few low sugar yogurts for dinner. I woke up this morning with returning dandruff and severe itching that I haven't had in a while and was wondering why. I googled and came upon this video.. And its more proof to me that industrially produced seed oils are screwing up my system.
I so wish all these fast food places and the fast food industry in general would stop using Canola and other seed oils :(

@Winter Zhukovsky, I am 62 and that the fast food industry was using tallow when I was a child. When I was older there was a huge uproar from activist types to stop animal fats and switch to “heart healthy” fats. It took a while (as I remember) but the fast food chains did switch over. Then the food never tasted as good. These do-gooders also recommended giving up eggs and following the “healthy breakfast” which was cereal, milk, orange juice and toast with a pat of margarine. I find it very disturbing that I’m getting this information from a general practitioner and not from my dermatologist. I had dandruff and some psoriasis around my nose. My dermatologist looked at me for 3 seconds and wrote a prescription for steroid cream to apply daily. She also never once mentioned the horrifying side effects from steroid cream (which I found out from testimonials on UA-cam).
So my conclusion based on my experiences is this: Dermatologist are operating a quick fix business with potential nasty side effects and don’t provide holistic approach to fix the root cause of skin issues.

Literally had a specialist tell me those exact words when trying to treat my chronic heart burn. I was in and out of his office in less than 3 minutes. I tore up that piece of paper and never filled the prescription.

All of this is true and it really works. I had a nasty case of seborrheic dermatitis since I was 13, on my scalp, face and ears. Of course I was a carb-lover with a cortisol level up the roof. Used countless dermatologist approved treatments but the seb derm was always coming back and all I heard from derms was that this is a *chronic condition that will stay with me for the rest of my life*. But then I tried to loose some weight and to do that I switched to clean low carb/keto to reverse my insulin resistance. I also worked on lowering my cortisol naturally and ate lots of anti-inflammatory foods. I already gave up on treating my seb derm but as I was doing my diet I noticed my skin cleared up, my scalp no longer had bad smell and giant yellow flakes, my hair started growing back. Didn't know it was related to my lifestyle change, but then I read studies on how carbohydrate rich diet aggravates seborrheic dermatitis. I've been low carb since last year and I've never been free from dandruff for such a long time. It's great that someone is finally talking about internal causes of seb derm instead of giving one of those gimmick advice on shampoos.

The zinc stuff makes it worse for me
You need to use Selsun Blue+Nizoral. Once the itching stops, the existing dead cells will flake off (giving the illusion that it's getting worse) and when all the dying cells have flaked off, you're left with a nice scalp.
Next, use Sulfur8 at night to keep it off.

My blood work showed VERY high levels of triglycerides, my cholesterol is normal tho... I also have a lack of vitamin D. Dr. mentioned high triglycerides are caused from high carbs so hopefully me addressing this problem with keto will help. I will update in a few months as Dr mentioned it takes months to adjust

And in a week the dried flakes almost completely cleared up. She missed a couple days when we ran out of pills, and it came back full force. “Wash, rinse, repeat” and we saw improvements immediately again.

I have started a new diabetes program that is controlling my sugars much better, but I'm only about month in and still have adjustments to make. The dermatologist only recommended shampoos and creams. What you are saying makes good sense because I'm seeing other effects of the inflammation and immune response, which makes it worse. Thanks for the information. I think after years of ghostly diagnoses like fibromyalgia are coming to an end with this connection to inflammation.

You have just summed up how to get rid of seborrhoeic dermatitis. You bought together everything I did after a recent flare. I had it once before many years ago but didn't know what it was at the time. I am vegetarian and pride myself on my fresh food diet, using organic olive oil and fresh produce. I cook from scratch and only eat takeaway food a couple of times a year. However, I had been eating a few too many sugary extras with my afternoon cuppa and realise that vege diets can be high carb naturally. I made an assumption that my sugar could be too high because I associated the malassezia with sugar and yeast. I decided to monitor my sugar and carbs. My carbs and sugar were in recommended levels without the extra treats, so I've stopped the treats. I ordered a high quality algae based omega 3 supplement, took probiotics and ate sauerkraut and I'm drinking two pints of water a day. I also use a gentle toner on my face to clear the oil. I do have a slightly over active immune system and will need to look after my body to keep these problems at bay. THIS ADVICE WORKS! Thank you.

FINALLY a doctor who knows his stuff!
Carbohydrates and dairy increase insulin which increases IGF-1. (Insulin like growth factor 1. ) Which in turn increases sebum production. Excess sebum production causes all of the problems.
Once you stop eating carbs and dairy, insulin goes down , which in turn lowers IGF-1 which lowers sebum production. This results in clear skin. Finally a doctor who knows his stuff. Most doctors or dermatologists don’t know anything about the true cure. Because most are trained to just treat symptoms of diseases.

I'm 2 months into carnivore, and my flakiness is lessening, but not gone yet. I have noticed another skin-related benefit that astounded me. All my life, I've had what I call horseshoe heels. The skin around my heels would thicken and crack and get craggy, enough so that it could put holes in socks. I was always having to get after them with a pumice stone or creams or salves or those commercial gadgets to keep it manageable. Then about a month into this diet, as I was putting on my shoes one morning, I realized my heels were almost baby-butt soft, and I hadn't done anything to them. It's amazing all the things you hear about that improve on this diet, that you'd never expect had to do with food.

The problem with switching seed oils to animal fats is the increase of saturated fat -> cardiovascular disease. Also the suggestion to eat eggs is weird because pretty much all eggs (at least in Canada) are made to have more omega 6 FA, which is apparently what you don’t want according to your sources. The insulin thing isn’t really a problem if you eat carbs that are low on the GI scale bc the problem is that the insulin is spiking at a fast rate. If that rate is slowed down, then the spike isn’t as big so it should be fine to eat carbs in a way where it won’t enter your bloodstream too quickly (slower rate of eating+lower gi scale of food).

Hi Dr. berry, hubby is type 2 so we have been Keto/low carb for years. Last year he started having psoriasis we think on his scalp. So in January we went full carnivore for a whole month. We stopped everything except meat and salt. No coffee, no eggs, no dairy, no veggies. After a month we felt better but were also experiencing appetite fatigue, so we have been adding in things slowly...olive oil, coconut oil, ghee, garlic, green onions, thyme, for seasoning. Cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower , bok choy
for veggies. Just plain salt wasn’t cutting it. We also just added .vit.D,C, zinc and selenium for avoiding Covid we hope. The psoriasis, is a tiny bit better. But just not responding the way we had hoped. I did just start us on probiotics about a week ago. Are we on the right path? He refuses to take meds or use steroids, so I need all the diet help I can get. Just feeling super frustrated that it isn’t responding. Are we just expecting results too quickly?

I have noticed no more clumps of skin that i could scrape off with my fingernails. So, i feel way better now. Thanks, homie.

I have found that ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin) caused me to have terrible dandruff. Also, I stopped using any shampoo or conditioners with sulfates in them. My scalp is clear and healthy. No more problem.

I've had seborrheic dermatitis for years, even on a nose to tail carnivore diet. Nothing but beef and lamb. 2 years, no PUFAs, and nothing but red meat and suet and it still didn't go away until I went on feminizing HRT and got my androgens low enough. It's only come back when there were metabolic issues interfering with my HRT meds, but completely changing my diet had no effect on it. Completely gave me my life back in other ways, but that's one thing it never fixed for me. :P

He surprisingly didn't talk about olive oil. Is olive oil a good oil or bad??

Shouldn't there be some law against misguiding public? For example head and shoulder misguiding public into believing something that is not true.

I've had horrendous dandruff since I was 12 years old. Head and shoulders daily is keeping it at a manageable level. I've been on the keto diet for the last 18 months. I've lost 40kg (88lbs) so far (down from 170kg/375lbs). Although the weightloss has been fantastic, I can honestly say that my dandruff remains. I also get really bad beard dandruff. Maybe I'm built different but this didn't work for me.
Also I live in Australia so getting some sun is never an issue. Although it does seem to be worse in the winter months.

Head and shoulders has fixed my dandruff for years now and if I use a different shampoo it pretty much immediately comes back. For me it's a godsend.
The comments on this video are sus. I think there's a lot of bots. Seems weird. Almost all commenters names end in 4 numbers. 🤨.
If H&S works for you keep using lol I know I will.

@@MaximusWallis I think it’s weird too hearing “miracle” stories after every other comment.

I just got shocked the other day when I saw excessive dandruff on the side of my head above ears😮 never had that. I am pregnant however and my craving and food aversions are crazy. I don’t honestly see I could change my diet right now 😢

Love your work, doc! Thank you! Question. We have been in LCHF diet for a year. Most of our health conditions are gone! We are healthy. My husband’s sugar is 84. We eat min carbs, min sugar- religiously. He still has some seborrhea. Way less than before. Should we count our blessings?

Quitting coffee almost completely gets rid of mine. I'm not sure if it's the caffeine or something else in coffee.

I’m doing this with one difference, my only source of carbs is fruit that I’m having as a treat and veg for fiber. No industrial oil, no industrial sweets. Doesn’t work for me
But I’m also taking medication for an allergy, which can do something with immunity…
