Todd, I watched this video several weeks ago and I have to thank you and Corey. Due to arthritis like symptoms in the elbows, keeping the putter face square has been a challenge. Last year I switched to a claw grip with the right hand and that was very helpful but adding the open left hand this spring has been a game changer. The putter doesn’t rotate at all and it takes no effort to keep it square and on line. Feeling confident over a straight putt, even at 10 - 20 feet, is a great feeling and a very nice change. Thanks very much.

Yes, this works. I actually took the putter grip off my mallet putter and installed an oversized golf pride tour wrap round grip that you install on a regular club instead. This allows me to put my hands in whatever position that feels the most comfortable without any flat spot trying to influence the position of the fingers or thumbs. I notice that your left thumb is on the side of the grip touching the edge of the flat part. I would rather it be resting on the smooth part of the round grip. Thanks for the upload.

What you have just described is why "cross-handed or left hand low" putting works so well and has been adopted by so many touring pros. Can you say Jordan Spieth? The left wrist is extended and flat so there is no wrist movement whatsoever. Also, both palms face each other which favors a straight line motion. I have over 60 putters. One group are hickory-shafted and the other are more modern putters- many are models that have been used to win major tournaments including a 1968 Bullseye. Johnny Miller used one like this to shoot a 63 and win the 1973 US Open. Still a great putter and being two-sided (legal) also useful for hitting left-handed escape shots.

John here from Michigan. 66 years old and don't have any problems on the greens, thankfully. Been using the same putter for around 40 years. Replaced the grip last year for the first time. I very, very seldom three putt. I am a high handicap but it's because I have a hard time getting distance off the tee, which leaves a long iron or wood for my second shot. That's where my problem lies

i already do this naturally. i always thought it was wrong compared to tigers grip (neutral lead hand). whenever i tried to make my lead hand a bit stronger, i feel like i can’t rotate/arc the putter face going back, so it always feels like im hitting the ball with a closed clubface. good reassurance for me with this video

I use a very neutral left-hand grip, with back of my hand pointing at target. I arrived at this by talking a putting stance (without the putter) and then letting my left arm hang down and swing like a pendulum; that gave me "the feel". When I actually putt, my left arm is just a pendulum, with my right hand supplying the power to move the pendulum. I think I'd be a really good putter if I could read greens, but that's another story! (Mark from Land O Lakes, FL)

Robert G. from Los Angeles, California. Yes I played the Acushnet "Bullseye" putter, MacGregor "MT" Tourney's and the Titlest balata "smile" balls. True I was young, but I played a good game. One point I would like to make that I feel has been lost through time, better strikers of the ball-both pro and duffers. My opinion is that was mostly due to the balata ball, hit it wrong and you were left with a brand new ball that was unuseable. So the ball caused you to really pay attention to your swing. Maybe you could do some sort of segment to that fact
