Crazy thing is because of how online works if the other player sets themselves to p1 they can’t do it but to you it’ll look like they can and vice versa, so as a Reina player you actually don’t know if they can step it or not
It applies to every Reina player because the opponent may or may not be able to step you after you WS 4,4 into Heaven's Wrath depending on what side they are on. It changes how you should approach your while standing punishment routes, but like the above reply mentioned, you don't know what side they picked online.
@@blaize7865 Well 90% of people do just pick Left so just let it rip. Are you able to see if the stage is mirrored? Like you see the opposite side at start, I've never paid enough attention to see that
Same. I play on the left side with Reina and other Mishima because I can wavedash and execute with them better and more consistently than on the right side
With reina it is important to note that most of her moves are SSL. If she f4 that forces full crouch player 1 has the advantage. If you ws4,4 since iron hand is weak to SSR, player 2 has the advantage. So with Reina its moreso opportunity cost. Do you choose to have a better time on p1 dealing with f4 or have a better time on p2 dealing with ws 4,4 mixups.
a funny thing is that if you're the Mishima, you can't select P2 side online to force opponents to take the mixup, because they could also be p2 on their end, which is a fucked up situation that can't happen offline
It’s not necessarily about being a player 1 or 2 player. It’s about how the game is played. If you’re playing online and ranked, then it doesn’t really matter. In terms of you can pick your side and only play that side. But if your like me, I like to play with friends and family, go to their house and play some good ass tekken on that PlayStation, or even go to tourneys, a lot of people want to play on the left side, you get forced to play on the right side.
@guymontag5084 your absolutely right, this can happen no matter which setting you play at. It’s just that in online play, you’re still on the left side 99 percent of the time. This isn’t always the case if you’re playing outside of online, aka friends, family, tourneys, going to a cafe, etc. where your going to be player 2 because everyone else wants player 1
Finally p2 finally gains an advantage. P1 always benefited from the tekken engine. Especially since I play p2 with armor king. So I couldn’t do a bigger combo due to the engine
They could easily make foreground sidestepping a thing in Tekkens engine by adding the requirement to pressing up/down rather than down/down in crouch situations. Ive no doubt they could make it happen if it was a priority. However, i think Harada and the team like the unique situations, advantages and disadvantages it causes from left to right side. Again making them unique among other fighting games, even if its primarily in a negative light.
