Thank you for reissuing this video from 2014 from one of your trips to the Deshler, Ohio area with a new voice over, Drayton! I do not remember if I viewed a previous version of this video. I did enjoy watching the trains that are in this video. The Q393 train must have picked up those new CitiRail lease units somewhere to take them to a location where they will await their assignments with various railroads. Do you know if the CitiRail units were picked up in Erie, Pennsylvania from the GE plant? (_Posted 14 July 2024 at 2040 CDT.)
I love the Citirail ES44ACs. Too bad they are all owned by CN now, except for two that were wrecked and scrapped. The Citirail scheme actually would have made a great modern scheme for a surviving and expanded Delaware and Hudson RR if it was still around. Thank God for model railroading, I can have Santa Fe warbonnet ES44ACs and ET44ACs, and have D&H units of the same type running through!
Model railroading is a great vehicle to do the fantasy liveries of not just locomotives but railcars too. Imagine a modern grain car but in the China Red colors of the CB&Q, for example.
I wish I could go back in time to get video of some of the trains I saw when I was younger. About 25 years ago, my dad and I went to Fostoria, OH for a day and caught an NS train transporting 12 brand new CP AC44000s fresh out of the paint shop. I have some pictures of them but would have loved to have high quality video.
Twelve engines on one train, eight of them belonging to Citirail. Impressive plus all those covered hoppers. Nice way to end video with BNSF tank train. Joe S
Suspect the CITX locomotives are moving on Waybills as 'Freight' with charges being assessed to the consignee. CSX Train Handling Rules require DIT (dead in tow) to be handled in the locomotive consist, not in the body of the train.
Why would they have all 12 at the head? That would mean that the weight of the entire consist would be down to the coupler between the last loco and the first car. Isn't it more common to distribute them to the middle and rear of the consist so that the strain is distributed?
@@davidbrown4823 I'm sure if they were taking all of those to waiting cars it would be a very long train. I love trains. Just semi retired and thinking about doing a DCC model train lay out.
So somehow the pulling power of all locomotives are added together. That was some progressive forward thinking To combat the reduced pulling power from environment -friendly locomotives, you must pull train cars with more than one locomotive.
SantaFe used to have power imbalances, and theyd send as many as 20 units on an e/b pig train to Chicago. Sometimes b/4 1984 theyd do it as a cabhop, with a caboose,(waycar) for you SantaFe purists.
When I was a very young lad, I used to see these trains with several steam engines with rather small trains. I remember one where they must have been about twenty of these engines. I founds out much later they they were actually being pulled to the scrap yards!
Man, I wish I caught this, always loved that citirail paint scheme
Awesome video Drayton! Keep up the Amazing work!
Haase's House O Trains
Thanks!
Welcome!
I’m thinking these shots are a bit old thru Dressler … but/c the old station is still there. Great shots that cannot be replicated.
These shots are a decade old, shot in 2014.
That explains that. I da never would have known that except we saw them tear the old station down on VR not too long ago. Thx.
This is about 10 years ago.
Wowwww, 2014
Nice shots, cool trains, lots of power!
Nice CITIRAIL Drayton that's awesome Train.

They were picked up from GE in Erie. I believe all of these units are now on CN.

Some good drone video ! Thanks for posting!

My biggest consist was 16 locomotives. All between 3,000 to 2,000 horsepower. With all of them online. The train was only 65 cars.
Talk about overkill! When was this, if you don't mind my asking?
POWER MOVE!
Great video!
I remember that afternoon, it was a great chase.
Yes.... they're bringing back Citirail
Cool the last train was heading to my hometown of South Philly.
Locomotives go Brrr

Did BNSF have a name for that cream and white livery? I always liked it and you don't see that many out there anymore.
Sorry, should have said cream and green
For a second I thought Citirail was coming back…..only to jump into the description and find out that the video was taken in 2014 and was reuploaded.
I like watching the trains going through Deshler Ohio
on Virtual Railfan Cam with the railroad diamonds
thank you.🇺🇲🚂🚃🚃🚂🇺🇲
Nice footage and power move!🛤🚂
Did anyone notice an SD50 and an Executive SD70MAc in 2nd and 3rd at 0:25?
70MAc
@@RDC_Autosports fixed it.
From 0:15 to 3:02 the world's longest mixed freight train ever seen🤯🤯🤯🤯
I’ve been to desler Ohio and it’s great spot to railfan I highly recommend it
Being 2024, how many of the CITIRAIL units became CN?
Weren't those already owned by CN?
At least you've got time to throw a few shrimp on the Barbie when caught at a railway crossing! lol
They do look pretty when they’re new…
Called a power move I believe. They come through Nebraska like BNSF with 7 engines and 50 cars.

They move em' where they need em'. 🎉
Crazy Train, good, I like your video 👍❤

NOT a 'crazy' train, that would be quite impossible. Nothing more than new locomotives being delivered - many years ago.
Looks like a delivery to me
Holy beardless me and bonus appearance of Dave
Can you believe this was 10 years ago?
@@DelayInBlockProductions I can when I see my old Buick, your Volvo and Dave's Villager. Miss ya, Brother
how long is that train?
When was this? All the CREX units are now on CN
2014
I wonder how they work out where the heavy ones go, and light ones go.
Imaginge the time it took to make this consist... 😳
12 locomotives is a train in itself.
Years ago I saw CN in bound with 2 M-630's and 4 RS-10's hauling one boxcar and caboose. return freight was longer.

how exciting
how many cars was the12 locomotive train pulling
Wry nice video
É muito bom de ver essas grandes máquinas em ação!🇧🇷🙌
Let's go to other countries 😂 WHAT!! I saw the train longer than this but with 4-engine
It almost looks wrong.
what is the point in these long trains with several locomotives ? they must be very clumsy to handle and takes like forever to pass by.
Why didnt they have some in the middle orvat the back? Assuming there is a reason.
Ahead. Just 3 power locomotive and 9 loco for delivery.
What's the need for 12 locos ? The train didn't look that big
En la madre cuantos vagones lleva? Para llevar 12 makinas.
FANTASTIC, FANTASTIC video my good and dear friend, it really is fantastic 🤩🤩🤩🤩. Like 863 👍!!!!!!
Wow Amazing Shot
Awesome Video ❤

Yikes, good grief Charlie brown 12 locomotives is a bit too much don't you think ?
I think the train has 12 locomotives because it is in Ohio😂😂😂😂
Great lashup! CITIRAIL is now owned by Canadian National
Sure, ! They are not "locked" in,or alive.!!
Avg Roblox lash up 💀
i swear this is text to speech
Will they be in service
this video is very old CSX uses M instead of Q now and there was an SD50-2 on the train and CSX has none in service
The Citirail gevos all belong to CN now
Hhm
12 engines?!
Lol i guess im the first commenter
5:02 end of the train
I always question csx sd40-3 cabs its like they added a dash 8 standard cab on them
oh please dump the AI voice
This is not an AI voice. It was narrated by Dave Dawson, our longtime friend and collaborator.
@@DelayInBlockProductions oh sorry about that, man he sure could pass for it 😁👍
