    Great description. I like how you mention about having your hands ready in the very beginning as well as the fact that you noticed he doesn’t have any sort of weapon or knife

    The thing now is that people are sucker punching strangers (you) on the street. Pretty hard to defend against that

      I’ll be back in NC next month, but not really at a teaching capacity. I do have a spot I am teaching at Hard Ready 3 in October though. You should check into it. It’s a great event!

    Love you Street jitsu as much as your normal video. Would love to see more of these Street scenarios. Do you have any scenarios of someone trying to kick you in the streets and different ways to trip them?

      Thank you! I appreciate it. And no, I don't have any kick defense videos, but I have some good options from Jiu-Jitsu and from Muay Thai. Might make a good video!

      I have a couple videos for weapon attacks. There are some similarities in the defenses, but some very important other considerations.

      Good topic, but I don't think UA-cam's guidelines would let me post that.

      Follow the howl, you’re referring to the two-handed club defense, correct? If so, that is totally different from the behaviors Professor Knight taught to defend here.

    • @hotredtiger316
      @hotredtiger316 6 років тому

      Follow the howl, that was for Thai_Champ, too, especially that last sentence; I just didn’t tag him, that’s all.

    I think i would be doing a fold down takedown from the start, doing the two steps i find would be risky as well as the throw, the fold down you could plant them pretty hard on the ground and smash your head into thier chin then you can be on top. Jut my thoughts but love this channel!!

    What if the opponent was Strong enough to actually push you back Like they're just taller or they just seemed to be unmovable Or as soon as you did that they went for a football tackle

    • @KnightJiuJitsu

      That’s funny you ask, because we filmed a video immediately after this for Jared Jessup (the guy in the video with me) over tackle defense. Check out IQ Jiu-Jitsu on Facebook!

    The sucker punch I received to the face was a spinning punch, so I was behind him with my hand on their shoulder and as they turned round they hit me knocking me to the ground stunning me. Hopefully that won't happen again but how would you of gone about not getting hit?

    • @KnightJiuJitsu
      @KnightJiuJitsu  6 років тому

      Some punches you just can’t see coming or defend. Just like if someone ran up behind you and punched you in the back of the head. But maybe in that instance you mentioned, don’t touch their shoulder or be more guarded if you do....?

    • @Inconsistent-Dogwash
      @Inconsistent-Dogwash 6 років тому

      Knight Jiu-Jitsu true, yeah I wouldn't normally of done that but I was dating and living with him and he went missing just before that for a few days so I just wanted to know where he was going because he just walk out without a world. Just wish I knew the things I do now so I could of stopped the rest, its one of the reasons why I believe we should be teaching this at school for free and part of the P.E lessons.

    The problem is that only very few people will attacks you on the street alone..

  • @bvshr
    @bvshr 6 років тому

    You’re assuming that he’s a slugger and can’t hit effectively with the lead hand. Someone who can straight punch effectively will be too fast to see let alone grapple.

    • @KnightJiuJitsu
      @KnightJiuJitsu  6 років тому +1

      This is part of the reason for the discussion of the pre-fight cues. Someone skilled will have more disguised pre-fight cues and more refined of a skill set. You have to adjust accordingly. This is a base level presentation.

    I mean, if you noticed the fight queues and got your hands up and consciously postured, I wouldn't even call it a "sucker punch" anymore.
    I love most of your videos, but this one just seems like "the defense against a sucker punch is don't get sucker punched" followed by a bunch of fluff that's already obvious to somebody who trains and not really reasonable to execute for somebody who doesn't.

    • @KnightJiuJitsu
      @KnightJiuJitsu  6 років тому

      A sucker punch is still a sucker punch if you didn't know for sure things were going to get physical. And I'm not sure what you mean "obvious to somebody who trains and unreasonable for somebody who doesn't" That describes a lot of techniques. Not much is very reasonable to pull off for someone who doesn't train. I am just going over the details of the defense. If people don't train it, they aren't going to make it work.
