Dude when you held that panel up right before you told us it was AMD i was totally shocked! I thought you had made that out of what you started with! LOL

😂 yeah I beat on that piece for a while and got it somewhat going in the right direction but ended up having too many complex shapes for the basic tools I had. Hadn’t even thought about buying a patch panel until then. Checked AMD and they had one for $44.00 and are only 30 minutes away. Easy decision at that point, lol. Thanks for watching!

If this is a new project I hope we'll get to follow along on this one too.

Haha damn you had me for a second. I was laughing my ass off when you shit the plan and bought a patch panel!

Lol. Yeah I hadn’t even thought about buying a patch panel until I got frustrated with the one I was making. I figured they weren’t available just for that area. Low and behold I pulled up AMD and they had one. $40 later and a 30 minute drive, I had one in hand. Def should have thought about that sooner, lol. Thanks for watching.

You might want to pick up a silver metallic Sharpie. Makes a line that is easy to see on black metal.

I’ve got one……somewhere, lol. You’re right though, they do work really well on black. Guess I need to buy more than one at a time so I can find one when I need it. Thanks for watching!

Love your work but I don't see any ear plugs! Yikes

Thanks. I wear hearing protection most of the time. I’m old so noise bothers me quite easily, lol. Not sure why I didn’t wear them in this video, we all know how loud a ziz wheel is. Thanks for watching!

Only reason I mentioned it is I normally wear ear protection but didn't last year while under a truck removing a bumper with an impact wrench. Now I have tinnitus. Ringing will make you crazy. @@StoutCustom

@@rickb8538 dang that’s not good. I usually have some ear plugs or noise canceling ear buds but sometimes stick them in my pocket and end up leaving them at home. It doesn’t take much noise to bother me any more. I’ve stuck paper towels in my ears when I’ve forgotten my ear plugs before. Impacts and air hammers are the worst.

Is there a good way to account for or prevent heat warping when welding thin stuff like that? Or is it just tack quickly before it sets up?

I just use a hot glue gun..... Works every time most of the time.

You just have to keep it as cool as possible. Weld a little, blow it cool, weld a little, blow it cool, repeat. Thanks for watching!!
