Neil Murray revisiting his musical roots at the Marrickville Bowling Club in Sydney on 23 November 2018.
In October 1983 Warumpi Band released their debut single, "Jailanguru Pakarnu" (Out from Jail) on the Hot label. Neil Murray wrote the song along with Sammy Butcher and provided rhythm guitar and vocals. It is the first song released in a rock music format which uses an Aboriginal language, Luritja.
