  • To celebrate the release of her latest single, the third one this year, Hayley Mary played a number of free pub gigs. I recorded two of the new songs and three older ones:
    Brat (00:22)
    The Only One (03:34)
    Fall In Love (08:11)
Would You Throw A Diamond? (12:40)
The Ballard of Ruby Wednesday (15:58)
I’ve seen Hayley Mary solo and with a couple of different backing bands, but in my opinion this line up with The Hurricanes best reproduces the sounds and feelings of her songs live. On stage the three of them worked really well together producing some great riffs. Of course, being a small pub’s sound system, and my position right next to the speakers, meant I was never going to capture great sound. As usual being way up front, vocals have been a little drowned out by the instruments. However, all things being considered, I’m pleasantly surprised that it turned out as well as it has. And the good news is that Hayley will be releasing her first solo album in a couple of months’ time and that’s bound to be followed by more live performances.

She's been a little quiet of late (I think enjoying a private life), but things seem to be picking up again now. Three great new singles. Thanks for commenting.

Thanks very much. I could wish the sound was a little better, but considering where I was standing, right next to the speaker, I can't really complain. It was a great night. Looking forward to her album now.
