Purchased this September 7th for $179 from Eufy website. It’s the 17th today and it still hasn’t arrived. Guess I’m too used to fast Amazon delivery. Was supposed to be here yesterday, but just got notified of a change in delivery time to Monday, the 19th. We purchased a new custom front doors and they won’t be ready for another month or so. This lock will compliment the door style and give the security we like. I also just installed a couple of Eufy cameras. Video looks great and I’m happy with the product. I’m sure this lock will meet expectations.
I think one of the most asked question is : Can you answer the door with google home nest hub , talk to the person and then unlock the door via Google Nest hub ? This is different from just using Google Assistant(or the eufy app) to lock/unlock the door. If this can use google nest hub, this is indeed a SUPER product that Id buy on the spot.
Thank you for the great video! I don't know if anyone else had asked this or not, but I was wondering how this would work if you have a screen door? I'm trying to think about my own home, and I think that that would greatly limit my visibility. Not to mention we usually keep one of the screen doors locked always come so nobody would even be able to get to it to push the doorbell. But I do appreciate these videos! I also watched your video on the blink video doorbell, I'm trying to find the best bang for your buck lol! May Jesus greatly bless you and all who read this!
This video was perfectly timed as I am currently building and neededd to get a smart lock, doorbell with video as well this has saved me so much money and time being able to back this product and lookforward to getting it.
One thing that I prefer about my wall mounted Eufy door bell over this one is that mine will record the conversation at the door between people. If you answer the door with this door lock camera version then you are moving the camera away from what is happening on the porch.

Doubt it will do more than 6 months. With a high activity zone and many false triggers. I bet it’s 3 months of battery. I have a couple eufy cams. Their Ai isn’t the best so there will be lots of false triggers.
Great and thorough presentation, well done. Though I wish someone would review these smart doorbells in a slightly different way, i.e. not to install them on his main house or apartment door but on the garden entry door down at road/pavement level. The visitor would ring the bell before entering the garden premises, then I would be able to get the notification and video/audio on my smartphone OR my 7-inch display screen installed inside the house, then I would be able to talk to them and open the electric lock (which I assume would either require a separate smart relay working with a physical button or the smartphone) or the same video doorball assuming it would be able to handle electric locks. Unfortunately there don't seem to be many combo devices that can do all that at the same time.
I had just ordered the new door bell camera with the package camera but seeing this now I may return that and wait for this one. Love the battery option so you don't have to take down the doorbell like I do with the doorbell camera have to remove the whole unit to charge.
I'm a big fan of eufy. I recently purchased the video doorbell duo. I also have the EUFY SECURITY SMART LOCK TOUCH. The Eufy 3-in-1 is a very clever solution. Keep up the great work!
I have two Eufy battery doorbells, their two way talk feature is shitty. Many people have posted about this issue all over the internet. It looks like a great product if they can manage to reliably solve this issue. Great review!!

It says that they can connect to Google assistant on their website in the FAQs..Meaning you can use Google to lock or unlock the door with a command. What they don't say is can you get the video feed to a Google nest hub ?

Take a look at the nuki smartlock, it just installs on your existing lock with the key in place and it just turns the key. The best thing about this is, you can still unlock the door with your key from the outside. This one just seems dumb, what if the battery goes down, oops can’t enter my home now. Just stupid tech this smart lock.
I'm surprised you don't have door frame reinforcements. It's not sexy like all the tech, but it truly does provide amazing security deterrence by making it harder to kick a door in. On another note, I understand that this smart lock can store everything on the new Eufy HomeBase 3?
Do you personally prefer having the doorbell built into lock? How would you say this one compares to lockly vision? It seems like a good solution for apartments/condos or even back/side doors
I really want this with the dual cam. That would be the perfect combo, and I'd definitely be sold on getting it. Also, you should be able to format any tb SD card to whatever format that SD card is and it should work. I did that with my switch, and I have a crazy amount of space for storage on the console.

My only worry is will it meet insurance requirements on the lock and tumbler as a lot of licks require 3 point , 6 tumblers minimum, it would be good if you could retrofit any lock to it , and add duel authentication with key randomiser e.g. key biometric followed by key pad , two random numbers followed by a short message screen asking for say a random 4 5, a first number in that order

I would have liked for him to mention how long does the battery last before it needs a charge with regular use. If it only lasts a few days like some competitor does then thats a non-starter.

It's still a new launch so I'd be careful with putting my money here. IMO, Lockly's Vision Elite is superior. It's their predecessor to the Vision so it's definitely a proven smart lock. A bit on the premium side but worth the extra money
I've been burned by Kickstarter efforts in the past on tech, but since Eufy is already an established brand I feel less leery of it! Plus, it's clearly not just an idea, there are working prototypes in the world (as seen here). I really like the idea of this. For some reason, my first thought before watching this video is that the camera would have face recognition, so you could program family members into it and the camera would recognize them and unlock the door. (Then again, my iPhone unlocks whenever my 9yo daughter uses it, so I'm not sure I trust that these things can truly distinguish people correctly!) I have a Kevo smart lock, but it's never worked reliably and you have to have a phone nearby to lock/unlock so my kid is outta luck on that. It also seems redundant to have the video/doorbell here when I already have a Ring Elite too. But still... this is really tempting!
I backed it already, im crossing my fingers that it will work for me. They claim it's not compatible with metal doors! 😳 If the wifi is that bad it can't go through the door maybe they need to work on that before releasing. Any other device would work just fine through the door including other locks and cameras.

That’s really annoying that the port to charge it is on the exterior side of the lock, especially considering that battery is on the interior side of the lock.
@@SteveDOES for me it is because of poor placement of outdoor outlets. But after I wrote that message I saw on another channel that the USB is on the exterior so that you can charge it if it’s dead and you’re locked out. So it makes sense in that respect.

Video quality during daytime where ok I guess but it sucked during nighttime. Also I prefer to have my cameras geting wired power so for me this thing is out of the equation. I liked the lock and the fingerprint scanner so if they did a cheaper version with just the lock and then made a more powerfull wired camera + doorbell then I would by that.
I love ours, however i can't believe how many times the kids go in and out the front door, everytime I get three notifications, door unlocked, human event, door locked.
Have to disagree. I have a deeper door frame and the camera loses a third of its picture due to the frame. I do not advise purchasing this product for the camera.
As with 99.9% of residential homes, your security with that deadbolt is useless. Those 1/2 inch screws will let go with one kick and your door will fly open. If you reinforced your door properly I bet a two pound hammer will take that lock right off the door. Smart locks should never be put on external doors.
As a lock, it looks like a fail. It's held on with 2 bolts? What is to keep someone from putting a pry bar behind it and ripping it right off the door? WiFi is easily jammed, so there wouldn't even be a notification or alert. Cool gadget. Questionable security.
sadly, anybody who wants into a house can get in pretty easily if they are willing to do things like rip a lock off or simply break a window. most people still have basic locks that can just as easily be pried off by somebody willing to do some damage to get in. hell, any modern cordless drill with an auger or hole saw bit can simply drill a giant hole in a door in a few seconds, allowing somebody to reach through and unlock. that shouldnt stop people from having locks though. a video doorbell coupled with a couple other cameras/lights around the home would be ideal and could help scare would be intruders away. have a couple flood lights and motion sensors in the right place to let them know "we see you". maybe what is more needed is a door with nothing on the front but a simple drawer pull type handle. have the locking be done completely internally via bluetooth, rfid or some other method. nothing to pry off and reach through may help some. then its just a matter of what to do when you forget your keys. maybe just keep the numpad/camera part combined but not on the door directly connected to the locking mechanism? probably lots of things that could work, lots that wouldnt. either way somebody who is determined will probably still find a way in if they really want. just the harsh reality of life and living around other people who arent always good people.

@@Cstegg my solution for that was a gun in every room lol but i dont have kids to worry about finding a loaded gun. and i also live in a pretty safe, low crime area as i live basically in the middle of a retirement community. turns out the blue hairs arent out breaking into peoples homes too often.

3 point locks i Denmark require you to pull up the handle to engage the top and bottom "hooks" in the door.

A lock only keeps a honest person honest. No home lock is gonna hold against a pry bar numb nuts.
