Hey thank you. Ya I give some stuff away on occasion but only on new videos. I do have quite a few eufy products. I just bought the new floodlight so I'll be replacing the old eufy floodlight. Replaced this door lock of course. And also bought the new 24/7 recording 2 cam package and the new single cam solar that will run on cellular data if wifi drops. So I'm have a couple of the older cameras for sale also. I am in the middle of making videos for them all but if you have any ?s in the meantime feel free to ask.
Very detailed video, thank you! I recently purchased one and followed your step by step instructions and installed it to my door but it won’t calibrate and it tells me to check the installation. I can lock and unlock manually but it won’t calibrate and it tells me that the door is jammed. I don’t know what else to do.
@@threadchemistry It goes in all the way. It will lock manually but not lock electrically. When I turn the deadbolt I can tell that there is a slight catch in it to where it doesn’t turn smooth all the way but it will turn and lock. When I try to calibrate it, it only turns 3/4 of the way and says it’s stuck.
Yes that is bc it's catching. The deadbolt has to have a smooth transition in and out or it will detect obstructions and won't close. No worries though. Pretty simple fix..
So what you want to do is remove the screws and strike plates which you probably just installed. Take those out. If u have a small dremel tool or even a small chisel just slightly chip slivers of wood on whatever side is sticking. (You will need to find that out first) and slowly widen your deadbolt hole until turning that deadbolt is smooth as silk.

I was able to get the long screws in mine though so I would assume you could also? A 3rd would just be overkill. If they can get passed the 2 then they have a battering ram and 3 won't make much difference. Hahah
@latendresseaa I guess I've never seen a metal door. But if it's aluminum or just a strip of metal I don't see why you couldn't with a little elbow grease, but don't quote me on that. I would have to see the door but my guess is there has to be a way to screw in. Is there not one there already?
I have the solo cam s340 and the S330 / T8530 door lock & bell cam and they both constantly miss events. The door records to the doorbell chime SD card and the outdoor cam records to the Homebase 3. I have checked all settings / firmware updates and still cant figure out why they miss events. Anyone with these issues?
You just have to really tune in the settings. Maybe change from "human detection" to "any motion" that will capture every movement. But if you knock the scale down in the "any motion" action it won't detect as much of junk going by, more humans. (Larger) Aiming it at a certain angle can have impact. Just takes some trouble shooting. I don't ever have problems and that's all I ever did. Hope this helps!
Hi, there is a Reboot button on the bottom of the outside unit. If you press it, the system will reboot. I think this is not good. Any stranger could press it from outside and reboot it. Can you please check this, how easy is to do it from outside? Thank you!
Hey! Good call on this! I did check on it. So there is a reset button, however, that is only to reset the unit if there is maybe a glitch I assume. Because after I held it down for a few seconds it did reset, but it did not affect anything. After less than a couple of seconds, the code, my fingerprint, the camera, etc all worked exactly like they should. I'm saying it will still lock and unlock only how you have it set up even after pressing the reset. So there is no way for anyone to tamper with it that way.. I hope this answers your question! I have an issue with this device since my cousin installed last week! I can’t access the remote lock or unlock, and also the finger print is no longer working (it only worked for two days) now even after I changed the Chime to a different spot directly facing the front door and not far from it (only 7-9 feet distance) I am still having both issues: finger print not working and remote lock/unlock not working from the phone App! I didn’t put a sim card yet, could that be a reason of remote access not working? I doubt but idk I’m not an expert. Could you plz help
Wow, that's a lot of mess in 1 unit. If it's not connecting to your phone remotely there's a problem with it. The fingerprint could maybe troubleshoot but would be pointless if it's not working in the app. The 1st thing I would try is removing the device from the app completely and then re-download and setting it back up. Give that a try. Does your fingerprint just not match up so it's denying you or are you saying it just doesn't do anything at all?
@@threadchemistry The finger print was working for about two days after it was installed, after that it couldn’t read the finger print, and when I tried more than three times it lockes itself and denies access! Since then I’ve been using the codes only to lock and unlock. I am planing to travel soon, that’s why I wanted the remote to work for emergency reasons
@seekfactsnotfiction9056 well I'm guessing when u first registered the print you had some residue on it so it's technically not reading your print now. You can just re enter your prints. Make sure you're covering your whole finger. As for the remote. I'm not sure. Like I said I would reset the entire thing and set it back up and hope it works. If not You could also try and contact someone at support@govee.com. they might be able to answer for you. Or third, exchange for a new one! Ha. I'm sorry the app not working boggles my mind. Never heard or seen that problem so I can't offer you much advice unfortunately.

@seekfactsnotfiction9056 it doesn't have anything to do with wifi or any SD or memory cards. It's something on the back end that isn't working. Something in the app in preventing it.. try the reset. If not you can try govee support, but personally, I would just return for a new one and not deal with the headache. But hopefully your reset will work.. make sure you completely delete and remove the device completely from the app.
At 15:53, that little tiny wire in the corner! It ripped for us when we tried installing it. Idk why they didn’t make it slightly longer, but we’re trying to see what it’s for?!?!!! The manual doesn’t say so we ripped a wire that we don’t know what it’s purpose it. Any idea?!

It could be but it could also be your deadbolt. Is it tough to turn when locking? Or does it kind of catch at some point slightly as you're rotating it?? That will cause the notification and lock not to lock via the app. So I actually cannot get an answer to what it is. However, if want to warranty it out, Eufy is extremely good about that and I have the info to make it extra easy. I would suggest going that route. You never know what it might affect down the road even if nothing now..

We were worried they wouldn’t honor warranty since we bought it from Amazon and this was a couple of months ago (we just moved into our home so the Eufy doorbell was sitting in its package for months lol). The funny thing is, we calibrated the doorbell in the app and that fixed the unlocking/locking feature. So, the app, chime, camera, audio, pin, fingerprint, and self-lock work. SO, we have no idea why that little black wire is for and even customer support didn’t know and they just recommended warranty. I told them, “why not just make that little wire longer! 🤣.” Were worried we’ll have same problem with second doorbell. It’s very difficult to connect it AND connect it to the back panel. 😭

Absolutely right! Plus you don't have to pay for a monthly subscription. Although it is an option, you can also just SD card and never pay monthly!

Did charging cord come in the box with S330.?
I don't remember. If I didn't show 1 in the unboxing then no. Its just a standard charger. The old USB charger.

You probably should look at not using an Impact Screwdriver on all screw applications. There's a bit too much force involved.

I also spoke with Eufy and they said that could be a number of wiring problems inside. They recommend doing a warranty claim also.
