Just a reminder; When Aoyama was first introduced, he couldn't use his Navel Laser for more than a second without getting stomach cramps, and when he fought Mina in the Tournament Arc firing multiple blasts in quick succession practically had him dropping his guts. Here, he manages to sustain his beam for over a minute as he prepares to sacrifice himself to let Iida pass. He may not be the most prominent member of Class 1-A, but he's working just as hard as anyone to become a true hero.

I low-key teared up when Aoyama was making the sacrifice play. It looked like he received the belly laser belt as a gift in the flashback. He was willing to sacrifice his dream for his classmates 💙
I freakin know. I swear this is the only moment in all the first 3 seasons that got me teary-eyed. Idk but for me self-sacrifice is the most noblest thing a hero could possiibly do. Plus I love unsung heroes too.

@@twopeople158, On one hand, it's annoying as all get out especially if you are watching the episode for the first time with them and you catch something that they don't, On the other hand, sometimes they seem to want to say something and ignore key plot points to get their point across.

Don't expect them to remember something from like 10 episodes ago, when they can't even keep up with what's happening in the same episode ("but they all passed already? -Ye it's for some rescue specialists" It really is true that dumbest people are so full of confidence :P). At this point my reasons to watch their reactions is around 50% for reactions to great/funny moments and 50% on how badly they can miss everything and come to stupid conclusions :D
it is better on MHA because generally the show it's rather easy to understand + they have Chris & Marketa who actually pay attention and have functioning brain cells, while on HxH they literally ask questions about things that were answered few seconds before, and generally have no idea what's going on 90% of time.
Nocebo yeah I’m glad I just watch their reactions to mha , agents of shield and black sails, In AoS they actually pay attention and only forget about some minor stuff that basically almost everyone who watched it forgot and in black sails other than this week’s episode they really pay attention to everything ; well except for in this week they asked „wait when did this happen“ when it was at very end of the last episode and they even had a pretty long discussion about the thing after that
And considering what's revealed later in the comics, that was very VERY brave of him.

Fun fact: Invisible girl can bend all forms of light
if she works at she could potentially be the single most OP hero....bending light to make her surroundings and friends invisible as cloaking, making illusions and distorting light to cause people to become sick, bending light like mirrors to make people see false clones, firing high temperature lasers strong enough to cut through almost anything (hotter than any flame, even endeavour's), forcing all light to redirect away from an enemy and trapping them in darkness esentially blinding them, could even just make it sp no light enters their corneas, and more. Her quirk could be more destructive than bakugo's explosions in theory if she focused a huge amount of light energy into a giant beam like those death weapons in every sci fi series.
In the manga, ahe can actually bend Aoyamas naval lazer.

@@ellybean7354 i know, but like I said, if she's able to bend light around herself, she can also bend it to focus energy in a single point for devastating damage (like she does w aoyama's laser) and she can force light to not enter an enemies eyes making him see only pitch black darkness.

@@Animemus disagree, in most shonen the main character usually wins morepopularity poll, the reason being MC's tend to get more shine...just look at one piece, Naruto, bleach, black clover, promised neverland, dbz, certain magical index, dr stone and so on...it is only when the MC's character is too simple as compared to the rest of the main cast,that we see pother characters win the polls...like in HxH or Yu Yu hakusho

Finally we have the real quirk of Toru Hagakure (invisible girl)...it's light reflection ! The invisibility is a side effect of her quirk...i believe it's also how she may have beat the hero exam ! Overloading the targeting systems of the robots ! I also believe the author of the manga said there was a shut down button on the robots...makes more sense this way !

I love how Mineta and his quirk start off as a joke and now he winds up being the crucial element in a chunk of the class passing. He has one of the most overpowered immobilization quirks we’ve seen on the show so far.

People act like Aoyama is the weakest in the group...i believe they all have potential if they become more creative or change their costumes...in season 2 he showed he could shot his lasers in other part of his costumes...also he seems to be able to propulse himself with it...i don't know...jet punch or multiple blast attack ! There is real potential ! He just need more confidence !
I think pain in stomach is bigger problem. He needs to deal with that first.

Aoyama is litterally a glass cannon hero, he is very weak physically and hesitant, but his quirk is the ideal sniper support.
Remember when he demolished the machine monsters in their entrance tests .
It should also be noted that he can be a sharp shooter!
He was able to give Mr Compress a suprise when he was able to shoot part of his mask and accidently drop out the kidnapped two!
He did that while aiming from his stomach and it's not like his has a build in scope either (don't think his red shade help with the aiming either)!

Even though this is just a short episode for Aoyama, I like his character development in here.
At first when he is introduced, he looks like a narcissistic person who only value himself. But it turns out he just want to shine like a true hero, and when the moment comes he is willing to sacrifice his safety for the safety of the others, which is really a nice development.
Man, I just love the fact that Nahid has been out here defending Aoyama since season 1

Kinda wish some more did, 2 failed the test that was hyped up to be some impossible challenge that could knock out half or even the entire class, it feels like the entire class passed because it was “expected” and it was easier for the class to go with the flow and pass instead of more failing for whatever reason (Sato passing didn’t change his character unlike Bakugo and Todoroki, and even then they basically fade into the background after this)

I've always felt it actually made sense most of them passed. The 50% pass rate that was lowered to a ~10% pass rate refers to *all* the candidates taking the test. UA is one of two top schools in the nation (Shiketsu being introduced to be considered equal in another part of the country). Usually, you'd expect the students from the top schools to do better than students from a 2nd or 3rd rate highschool. As for the culling of UA, I would guess that those who are taken out right at the beginning usually end up coming back to the next test and are able to do it now knowing everyone's going to target them. My assumption is that because Deku was quick to realize how everyone would come after them, no one was taken out right off the bat so everyone had a chance still to pull through unlike UA in other tests.

While it makes sense the first Half of three exam knocks out hundreds of people and all 40 U.A. students pass that part of the test and fail the (arguably) easier test, Bakugo fails for his personality Todoroki because of his internal conflict and that coming out with inasa but none of the other students from U.A fail when they didn’t have the training for this part of the exam, it feels like it’s the easier route “just make them all pass” that way they can then move to the background again but still have “achieved” something

Yeah, I agree it's the easier route. Personally, I'm still okay with it for 2 reasons. The first is that Horikoshi is developing this story slowly enough already and making it so that more students from class 1-A need to get screentime alongside Bakugo and Todoroki later will just slow the pacing down further. Secondly, because none of the other students are quite as personally flawed as Bakugo or Todoroki when it comes to their emotional intelligence. The second exam is literally set up as 'Will you be an asset in an emergency?' Most of the class prove they're competent enough to be so, and that whatever they do wrong is either not bad enough or they're able to use the comments from H.U.C. to fix what they're doing wrong on the fly.
Could a few others have realistically failed? Sure. But I don't think it would've made the story better.

Also, 11 out of 100 (11%) fail so I think it lines up fairly well with 2 out of our 20 (10%) students failing.
That wasn`t the test. There were to many people to take the exam so they had an elimination round

I know this comment is old but it’s funny how when Marketta said she shipped Uraraka and Bakugo (partially joking) everyone came at her in the comments and I even saw people insulting her and calling her a bitch, but when Chris ships the bullied kid with his bully who at some point told him to k*ll himself no one says anything. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against any character, and I don’t HATE any shipp, but it’s just funny.

This is why this anime is one of my most favorite. All the characters got a chance to shine. And no dull moments in all episodes
Invisible girl barely gets anything this series. This is the closest she got to a stand out moment.
Class 1A doesnt give up on each other I was at the edge of my seat just seeing the last two 1A students trying to pass I liked this episode too my gosh this show gets me a lot with emotions

Db super had to have a certain amount of episodes with certain time limit, while also establishing a backstory for literally every single character in the battle royale. This was only like 3 episodes where they really didnt have to do much
That's not really a counter point though...the point Suraj made was DBS had a better battle royal where the basic plot where everyone is after the Mc's team, and I agree with that view...the fact that MHA had only 3 episodes to cover the battle royal has nothing to do with the quality of the battle royal

We see once more...Bakugo, Midoriya with Momo have the most versatile quirk of the whole class 1A...they all have potentiel and Ururaka is close to their level of versatility, being only limited by what she have around her, but they need to add more to their arsenal...The other 3 can do close and long range moves, and use their quirks in other way...

I just realised Dekugo's VA is Chat Noir!! I was sitting here repeating his part trying to figure out why his voice was so familiar! ..-I know he's in other animes but MLB is just the one I recognise him from.

In DBS, you had way more episodes to learn names. But do you remember their faces over the my hero faces
and why is having less episodes a valid argument? did some one tell horikoshi, that he needs to make the battle royal 4 chapters long? and btw I do remember more about the faces of universal tournament than in the provisional license arc....we literally know like 5students outside of 1A in this arc...inasa, camie and seji from shiketsu and that guy who looks like deku and that blond girl from ketsubutsu out of like 1500 students participating...in DBS I can recall atleast 1 or 2 fighters from each participating universe even dumb filler characters like that dude who looks like a power ranger...to put things into perspective, I literally just watched this episode with normies, and I cannot recall the face of the guy izuku eliminated, while I watched DBS a year ago and can literally recall how krillin tried to eliminate that blind fox girl by making her smellhis shoes...not saying DBS is a good sbhow...MHa outclasses it in every way, but you are blind af if you thing this arc holds a candle to universal tournament arc
Souvik Bose i didnt say it holds a candle to it, nor am i blind. Personally, I enjoyed this more than the dbs one. It was better thought through in my opinion. Especially when you consider Akira makes up dbs as he goes along. Thats his style.
Also, a whole arc for a battle royal with that many episodes and combatants is pretty impractical.
@@kingdomking224 there was nothing to think about in this arc....ignoring filler, the battle royal is 1.5 to 2 episodes long with characters other than izuku getting at best 15 minutes of shine put together at best and i'd rather have abattle royal where I can see characters shine and the unique powers available in the world than have it minutely thought through and still end with no stakes...thelicense exam arc was arguably the worst arc in mha till date, where you prettymuch ignore all the strengths of a tournament arc
and I disagree...the whole point of any tournament arc is to introduce new character, give characters that barely get any screen time some shine and some unique fights, none of them were accomplished...5 new characters were introduced, but they barely did anything except inasa , and the characters got the bare minimum of what you would call a shine...kaminari's moment was literally pointing his support item once...aoyama's was being a beacon of light...compare that to dbs, were even krillin got almost an episode dedicated to him...the way I see it, if you are gonna half ass the setting, you might as well had made the first half of the exam a written test and got it over with within half an episode....you certainly don't want to dedicate as much time as universal tournament arc in dbs, but you certainly should have dedicated a atleast the same amount of time as the sports festival if you wanted us to take the battle royal seriously

If it actually not a staff member but one of the students and one who we'd never expect for how cowardly he always is like our sparkle boy. Mickey has seen this anime before, he knows its not the end if they all passed. Must be another round to go. I see this as like a written test and a practical test. We have seen in the first round their time at MHE they have learned to become proficient in their ability. However as foreshadowed what does a hero do when it's the real thing? Do they run towards or away from the fight. Do they rescue the people? Is their open gas pipes.

They're under the delusion that Peace Sign is somehow the best MHA OP.
All MHA openings are bland but shows still good.
I think my main complaint with them all passing is like, the odds are meant to be SUPER stacked against them. Every other student there is at least a year older than them, and UA is specifically at a disadvantage from people seeking them out and knowing the basics of their quirks.
Plus, could've allowed for some good development in side characters. Like, say Ojiro didn't pass. With his personality I could easily see that being a big push for him to grow, feeling like he's falling behind.
Second half of the exam does some good stuff, but still, feels a bit odd that certain characters passed.
Not only that but, they are coming from the top rated hero school in japan. And they have much more experience against actual villains compared to all other schools. So I think all of them passing this part of the exam is definitely believable.

About Aoyama, yeah he seems like the most lame because he hides most of the time and he seems to only be interested in his own shining self. However, there have been times where he shows great insight and inspiration.
1) When he and Uruaka teamed up against 13, I think he knew how she would react to him pointing out her obvious infatuation with Midorya. He also knew 13 would turn of their quirk to avoid killing the students. Brilliant plan.
2) He showed empathy with Midorya because they both had quirks that weren't compatible with their bodies. His execution was a bit creepy, but still, it was really sweet how he reached out.
3) He hides because in spite of him talking about being the shining hero and all that, he isn't very confident. But the hiding away put him in the perfect position to make a surprise attack that saved Tokayami and almost saved Bakugo.
For this, he has earned his place as a hero in training. He isn't as good as most of the others, but still has worth, and I'm sure he will improve.
At the end what was they were talking about dispointe ??
