Amazing how much more civil it is on PS3 as the years go by. People who can't afford/don't want to upgrade to newer consoles and just getting on with life.
Older, more mature people who have decided they don't need the latest and greatest hardware to have fun. Unlike the droves of kids who play games they have no business playing. Videos like this make me want to fire up my ps3 and play online sometimes. Problem is my disk drive is busted so I can't play a good chunk of my games.
@@Afullerton95 same, the PS3 has so many good games locked on it. Planning to start Deus Ex Human Revolution and The Saboteur soon, after that I'm done with my PS3 backlog.
PS3 was the first console I ever bought for myself. I was around 14-16 and I just got $100. My grandpa took me to the local city pawn shop where he knew the jeweler and I got a PS3 with 2 controllers for $110. Didn't have enough for the change so thank you grandpa for covering me r.i.p. also didn't have enough for any games so my first games where all used older cods and stuff from my uncle. That was one of the best purchases I ever made. I made so many memories on that thing until the day it fried.
“I bought the system, I bought the game, I pay for internet, and they still want me to pay to play my game?” Dang that’s so true. Too bad that’s the future
I remember when I finally got internet in my house and got to play a game online on PS2. This had to be like 08-early 09. Everyone else had PS3s and stuff. I was playing Battlefield 2 on there and there was this dedicated online community for that. It was pretty cool. Then when I bought Warhawk years after it came out there was this incredible dedicated community still playing. Idk there's something about playing what you want to play at your own pace and when you financially can. People are way more chill and it almost feels like a subculture lol. Great times.
I remember when I unknowingly picked up my neighbors wifi and I was able to play cod mw2 or 3 online it was 2010 or 2011, ohh the nights I was up to 4 in the morning enjoying online, felt like I was in the future it blew my mind
PS3 online will continue to be quite popular for awhile. One of the reasons is places like Brazil are a am absolutely huge market. Unfortunately the import tariffs on electronics are absolutely absurd. The PS3 has recently only became affordable. A friend of mine recently bought a ps3 for the very first time seeing as ps4 is unattainable let alone ps5.
@@brandon_nope Yes, but some people don't have the money, or don't use it enough, i mean he does have a point, he pays for the ps4, he pays for the game, he has internet at home which also costs money, and then he has to pay again to put all those 3 to use? can't disagree with the man
I can see it definitely dispending around the mid to end of the ps5 generation "which is now' considering allready the ps3 is a "retro console" and the ps4 is last gen which is wacky to think
@@survivalhh2995 I think it is weird to call a retro console, PS2 for me is fairly fresh in my mind despite being 12 years ago. My dad and I were late adopters of gaming. As in, we played on PS2 from 2001-2012. My dad did eventually upgrade to 720p, started PS3 around 2013, hell played on PS3 in 2013-2016 ( via minecraft ), and PC, though we had a ps4... I just never played on it due to 1. Why should we pay for multiplayer when PS3 had it for free and 2. NO VALUE ON PS4'S STORE, BUT VITA WAS 100% BETTER.
@@survivalhh2995 that's a good point. The ps5 will probably push the ps3 into nonexistence soon. Even though countries like Brazil are really giving the systems player base huge population boosts. So many players that wouldn't be playing if online wasn't free. But in the end Sony don't care how many players are happily playing. They are concerned about how many players are happily spending. But maybe I'm wrong and they are content with creating such a prominent gaming community.
I love that you keep doing this. I really hope channels like you continue to create content for the niche. Have you ever done a "Who's Still Playing" for the PlayStation Vita? :D
I legit admire the Vegas 2 guy. As a consumer, I've become way too complacent. I do not approve of A LOT of the things Sony do or have done in the past few years. I never was a fan of having to pay for online, or limiting cross-play, or increasing the price of PS+ so many times, or the PS+ games not only falling in quality significantly since the service was introduced, but also becoming far fewer in number, and now $70/80 euro games. But what else am I gonna do? I still pay for PS+ because I don't want to lose my older Plus games, and I still bought a PS5 because I want to play the exclusives. Even though I thoroughly disagree with Sony's money-grubbing practices. And then there's the Vegas 2 guy, who saw Sony charging for online and was like "Yeah, fuck that", then he just simply did not buy a PS4. That dude's living his best life. I hope to have the guts to be like him one day.
@@bigt4135 Good for you. However I am still paying $60 for the games of practically every other publisher ($10 for Microsoft's), so you paying $90 for N64 games 25 years ago does not affect me in the slightest, nor is it a prospect I am particularly looking forward to.
Same but for me it’s a different reason I can’t get a pc because well duhh look at the prices and I want to play games with friends other than cod mobile and roblox so this is my only option if I wasn’t a broke 15 year old I would so buy a pc (and then I probably would keep my ps4 for gran turismo
I love these videos Mystic, could you do them halfway through the year as well? It's so cool to revisit these older titles and meeting the people who still enjoy and cherish them
I like the little mini interviews he has too. It's always interesting to hear just why people have chosen to stick with their PS3, or how long some of them have been playing.
Yeah I play it allot still. Cant let these games die so I stick to ps3. There arent many games left you can play with people online and newer games suck with in game purchase and bad releases.
PS Home was amazing. I wish they would bring it back or someone create something similar. I have so many memories with it. I hope to see RPCS3 find a way to make it work and the PC community be able to enjoy PS Home again.
Hey mystic thank you for these videos. I have been watching them the last couple years and got inspired to get a Playstation 3 again , found a wild deal with system and 64 games for 100 bucks. So I will be online here and there in 2022/2023. It sure is nostalgic. Thanks for making me miss the ps3. Before it was too late.
Hey Mystic, I’ve been going through some real bad shit in my life. But seeing your video pop up in my feed just made my day a lot better. This being a PS3 centric video which I always enjoy, was the icing on the cake.Just keep what you’re doing my G. Thank you !
You're my favourite gaming youtuber, videos like this are always an insta-click for me. One of the few channels that is still about the joy of playing videogames rather than the weekly drama going on in the industry. Keep it up!
I've been watching this PS3 series you do since you first started it. It's fascinating to realize that multiplayer games have a different lifespan from single player games. In addition, it's fascinating how different gaming is perceived by different players depending on their interests. I know, it probably sounds like "duuuh", but it's still fascinating. Here's what I mean. I've always been a single player gamer. It's always been that way, and it will always be that way. I play mainly JRPG's and Action adventure games. I play other stuff, but always single player. When the PS4 came out, multiplayer no longer being free had zero impact on my experience as a gamer and as a consumer. For example, I played Dark Souls 1 and 2 on the PS3. I played Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne (and now even Elden Ring) on my PS4. And it's all good. It's the same experience. Different games, but same experience. And yes, I remember engaging in PVP and coop on Dark Souls on the PS3 a couple of times. However, not being able to do that once I got a PS4 didn't affect me. I didn't miss the multiplayer component. Now I'm hearing the guy on this video explaining how he boycotted the PS4 because he had to pay for multiplayer, and it dawned on me just how different our experiences as gamers have been. I'm not even criticizing, I think he actually made very good points why he didn't want to pay. If anything, I actually agree. It's the fact that I had never, ever stopped to even think about that what fascinates me. Aside from the time I got a PS4 pro and needed to upload all my save files to the cloud, I've never paid Psplus. It's been a non issue for me. I still don't have a PS5, but I probably won't pay when I get one either. Watching this video also got me thinking about the lifespan of games. I was coincidentally playing with my PS3 today. I played Fallout 3 and Kingdom Hearts 1. It's interesting that, because of my choice of games, their lifespan is kind of infinite. What I mean is, I'm sure it's hard for the people showcased on this video to consistently find other players to play with. If there are not players actively engaging with the game, then you can say that the game's lifespan is over. That's not something I have to worry about. The games I play have a lifespan equal to what I choose to give them. Meaning, as long as I choose to play them, they'll be there. I don't know. Hopefully I made sense with my rambles. It's just that I truly had a realization and felt like I had to talk about it.
Man when he booted up Rainbow Six Vegas 2 a wave of nostalgia hit me, that game was incredible - spent so many hours in that game. They don’t make multiplayer games like they used to
i remember a discussion where someone said what do you think about seige ps4 and they were like it's rubbish and the recent alien trash lol and they were like rainbow 6 vegas 2 all the way. some were saying they liked vegas 1 better.
My favourite yearly video, it’s always so interesting seeing all the PS3 soldiers still out there playing and I love the wholesome interactions you get with these players, now I wanna play Red Dead Redemption on my PlayStation 3
*9:10** haha my dad said the same thing to me back when he bought me a SNES, you should've seen his face when he realized that you had to buy all the games separately and saw how much those cartridges cost, how far we've all come!, really enjoyed the vid, thanks.*
Honestly games havnt changed since ps3. Sure better graphics and processors yadda yadda yadda it's the same damn games and gameplay. There hasn't been anything truely next gen in a LONG time
My fave reasons PS3 is still technologically relevant: •Plenty of great PS2/3 & cross-gen games •PS exclusives FTW •Blu-ray & DVD player •Plenty of apps •Web browser •Free online •No red ring of rage
It’s amazing how active some of these communities are this far into the PS3s life. I’d honestly love to see a comparison video between PS3 and Xbox 360 online communities out of curiosity.
@@Callieforniiaa merkmusic recently made a video about playing Modern Warfare 2 online and even when playing natively on Xbox 360 he couldn't get into any games.
PS3 was my first game console, and I had so many great memories of it between 2009 and 2015. Now me at 16, looking back at it, it is still a great console.
I managed to buy an immaculate PS3 slim 320GB off Ebay last year, after my huge original 80GB stopped working. Compliments my PS5 nicely. PS3 games still hold up well after all these years. PS2 not so much. PS1 is best left to my fond gaming memories.
I never understood this mindset of "games not holding up." I still love my entire PS1 and 2 libraries. They mostly consist of games like Crash, Spyro, Jak, Ratchet and Ape Escape, and some obscure platformers on PS2. The only games I know of that I own that star "realistic" humans are Fighting Force and the Spider-Man movie games.
Yup that was the console I most played on until my mom decided to give it to my relatives in another country lol me and my brother's were so angry lol and my dad but it was great fun, wwe smackdown vs raw 2011, modern warfare black ops so many games TEKKEN ONE OF MY FAVOURITES but we had tekken revolution I didnt know we had It though but I never played it but I became a tekken fan after, still have my ps2
I liked how every game ran flawlessly with the graphics you paid for yet most games on ps4 will either lag like a bitch because they don’t care to optimize it for the olde console or because ps4s turn into cooling deprived garbage very quickly. I had the original glossy brick ps3 and it ran every game you threw at it the way it did when it was new until it got the yellow light and was a goner. It was probably fixable but I remember me and my brother having to pry the console open because it stopped working while gta5 was in it and we wanted that shit back😂
This is exactly the video I was looking for, thanks brahj 🤙yo ull the clutch sfiv segment, thanks for putting in a fighting game- wish we could've seen more of your friend's Dudley! I think there's more people playing sfiii than sfiv on ps3 online, surprisingly.
I agree with the guy boycotting the ps4 for having to pay to play online... Back in that generation the fact that ps3 online play was free was a big plus for players because xbox 360 already had pay to play online. I think if sony makes online play free again it would make a lot of people happy and willing to switch over to a ps5 when it will be available.
I completely agree Sony doesn't understand how good their reputation would look if they were to make multi-player free again it'd be a big step up for them and many many people would rather get a Ps5 over a Xbox for that reason
It's really cool to see that PS3 Online is still alive and with a lot of people playing it, here in Brazil a lot of people still have a PS3, it ended up becoming an extremely cheap option for those who want to play something, I believe that if one day the PS5 gains backwards compatibility to PS3 games in a similar way to Xbox we are likely to see a huge increase in online players for PS3 games.
That guy talking about how it's terrible that you have to pay for online now and how he will not settle for that was so on point. If you think about it, it's totally true what he says I mean you are paying for the console, paying for the game and it's already expensive, paying for the internet, the tv, and ALSO you have to pay to play online? It's absurd and I don't get how people has totally settled for this.
It would be incredible if the server's for some of these games lasts until 2026. It would mean we would have 20 years of online multiplayer for PlayStation 3. I believe the last PlayStation 2 game to go offline was Final Fantasy 11 back in March of 2016, which was nearly 15 years after online multiplayer was first offered on the PS2 and we're already setting records here might as well keep going
Trust that Sony don't give a dam. I can imagine that they wish they could kill it sooner than later so the new systems will sell. Hope it lasts though for those like myself can't afford a new system every other year, boasting a new lighting system or a bit more processing power. ALSO.... check out my RDR 2 vids and c how the cheaters hate me.
Keep the older systems alive. It‘s great to see online play still going good. A few days ago, I noticed some of my Xbox One games no longer have online multiplayer available. Servers have been shut down. Sad to say the least.
Great video, Mystic! It's cool to see just how many people still play PS3 online. Those dudes in Rainbow Six Vegas 2 were so cool to you, great to see. I don't blame people for sticking to PS3. Not everyone wants to spend bucketloads of money on the latest and greatest, and I respect that. We all play games for fun at the end of the day.
Now I feel like deep cleaning my old PS3 and plugging it in again. All these relaxed people he's getting into lobbies with. Hopefully all the games I have still work :D
I'm so happy you showcased Fat Princess. That was EASILY one of my favorite games from the PS3 era. If we got a remaster on the PS5, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Great video as always, Ryan!
To the gamer speaking at 9:09 - 👍🏾👍🏾. This is the reason why I went to pc gaming, which i was lucky enough to get into before 2020. Consoles are a serious money sink. Gamepass makes sense on pc, but even then I'm not too crazy about it. Nice to see people having a good time and speaking respectfully to eachother
Man Split Second really was a good racing game. Used go play it all the time, loved the environment interactions and explosions you could set off to mess with your opponents. Great gameplay, wish they made a second one. Anyways, great video Ryan 🔥 Always love tuning in to watch your content
These videos are so wholesome and always bring back a rush of memories from when I used to play the same games back in their prime. Back to simpler times 🥺
9:04 I totally agree with this guy! That's why I have never bought the PlayStation Plus Subscription even after owning a PS4 for 4 years now. And for the same reason, I am not buying the PS5 or any future console. Consoles are getting too expensive, so I'd rather just stick with my PC.
@Rezonant Warrior A MacBook Pro is a PC as well. It just runs on another Operating System. You can game on a M1 MacBook Pro, but your game library will be cut short. If you are really serious about gaming, you basically have no choice but to get a Computer running Windows. Linux distros are also an option, but I wouldn't bother because it is an hassle to get everything to run properly and also very hard for inexperienced users.
9:10 this guy is the exact reason why I switched to PC. It is expensive if you want to have a smooth experience but once you are setup, you’ve got something that can last for years. And you don’t gotta pay to play online. Also, I can emulate different previous generation systems and stuff like that which is awesome.
Mystic this is so great that you do this each year it’s so interesting to see who’s still playing and that it is possible to still play online etc with whatever game. It’s a shame that no one has come up with a way to run servers for games even tho there not maintained by game publishers to keep the fun going and stop e waste
I love these videos man, It's great to see small communities keep their games alive long after their heyday. Hope to see you do another one of these next year!
Broke my heart when Killzone 3 had its multiplayer cut. People who played it will know that it was one of the best multiplayer experiences out there, rivalled if not bettered Call of Duty.
Series that I always love to see every year . Wanna watch these side by side when we go from when this series started to like 2030 see how it's changed. Love seeing updates on these. Still go back to my PS3 every now and then. Even when having a PS5 and other PlayStations. Still catching up with a lot series so I jump on and swap between depending what I start or replay
it's nice to give a light on sad stories of those that just can't afford it to play the new games, I live in Brazil where that happens a lot, your list of priorities are dominated by food, living, or struggling on your own, without any help as most people have. but... you still like videogames, and still got stuff you want to take your mind off, i mean, specially if facing money problems. and game community just forgets this, shit they're doing articles and articles about how romantic is people who still play Red Dead Online on RDR2, as the forgotten outlaws-- but then you log in RDR1 online mode and jesus man, THOSE are the forgotten ones, thats way more impressive. even if it's not the final goal of the video it's nice to give light on them, and their community, which does exists. thanks for the video Mystic, love those
These videos are great Mystic.... Its always great to see who's still playing the PS3 online. I myself go back to live some fond memories and am amazed at how many people are still connected.
I recently hooked my PS3 up to attempt to earn a couple of old platinums I never attained back in the day. The console hasn't aged well in terms of speed and menu usability but once you're in a game it's completely fine. I love the PS3 and it makes me happy there are still people enjoying it!
what? the menus is the only thing that is better than the newer ones, the resolution and performance of games sucks balls, but the xmb is the best UI to this day.
Omg, I literally just bought a second hand PS3 a week ago. Was going to save up for a PS5, but it doesn’t seem like you’ll be able to easily buy one till 2024-2025, so happy to revisit some of my favourites and check out some games I’ve always wanted to have a go at. Can’t wait to get my hands on Red Dead Redemption
I still play Battlefield: Bad Company 1 on PS3. Will often find myself in 12v12 online games. I always have and always will love the simplicity and quirks of the game. It's just more fun to me than the new stuff.
@@sasquatchcrew I used to play the game consistently in 2020. It was always easy to find games. Too bad that in 2021 there were only like 3 lobbies and the end of the year was dead. :(
Bad Company 1 to this day is the only Battlefield game with its level of destruction. People cream themselves with Bad Company 2 but all building destruction is scripted, and the maps are super linear compared to Bad Company 1's huge sprawling maps.
I never got the chance to play BC1 online for PS3 or at all for that matter. I remember spending a few dozen hours on Bad Company 2 online for PS3 though and I had a blast. I actually tried connecting to the online for BC2 but it told me that it cannot connect to the EA server at all on PS3. Anyone have the same issue?
I used to play Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle Cars (The game created before rocket league) I'm astounded to see PS3's online support is still going on and I plan to eventually set mine up again to see if that game is still alive
Please keep doing these vids Mystic on behalf of myself and the rest of your viewer's. I have Xbox one, but before that I was on ps3 from day 1 and it'll be my all time favorite console no matter what. The memories, games, friendships I made over the years will never, ever be forgotten. And thinking back it Makes me tear up knowing I'll Never get to experience such fun times again for as long as I live.
Watching all your PS3 revisit videos makes me miss the old days of online gaming. I was on Xbox 360 most of that generation, even though I did also have a PS3 back then but didn't play it much. Nowadays I mostly play single player games because online MP games just don't hit the same for me. Some MP games I'll play here and there, but I definitely don't play them as often as I did when I was a teen in the 360/PS3 era.
Online multiplayer games were more fun on the PS3/360 than nowadays. It’s the whole GaaS model. Release bare bones multiplayer and slowly give the same amount of content previous entries had at launch on the PS3. Battle royales don’t do it for me either
@@Cruxis_Angel yeah I totally agree. Live service is even creeping in to some SP games now which is a shame. BR's never did it for me either, I really only tried PUBG and it was okay but I didn't really care to keep playing it, I'm old school I enjoy DM and objective based games more.
Battlefield Bad Company 1 also had a very active small community still playing. This was before Sony put this strange 2-Factor Authentication thing up.

I've been doing the GTA IV Platinum for the past few months. Only 2 online trophies to go. Also saw a few trophy hunters still starting it. It's pretty hard and very time consuming so I'm wondering how many will actually do it. Anyways we did get some randoms popping into lobbies so there are some people still playing. Not many though still rare.
I wanted to platinum GTA IV just because it's my favorite GTA, but it's so much grind for levels and I dont think I'm able to do the one where you beat 3 missions under a certain time
@@viniciusribeiro7279 We just done it. The one difficult is Deal Breaker. It's possible but best done with 4 people. Using helicopter method. We done it twice as once the 2 killing the bikers had to leave lobby because we wouldn't make it in time otherwise. The other time the one destroying the boat left and I picked up the 2 destroying the bikes. Anyways it is a hard one took us about 3hrs of trying to get it done for all of us. The other 2 missions aren't bad as long as you both are good. If your gonna look for people I suggest looking up psnprofiles and looking at recent earners of other trophies that don't have it. That's how I got my team together. Only 2 I've got is left is win every team based activity and participate in everything which will be very time consuming as it means you must do all maps of everything. That's over 200 races and other stuff. The single player grind took me 35hrs but felt much longer. Collectibles, stunt jumps, grinding races, drug missions relationship and other trophies is very annoying. Then I also had the frustration of what I missed for 100%. It was do every activity with every friend and 2 stranger missions. (A lot of people miss those from what I've seen) Anyways I started the whole thing about 3-4 months back because it's a pain to even boot up the PS3 but eventually I'll get it and if you really want to you can too. At least untill the finally decide to shut the servers down but I hope that won't be anytime soon.
My friend is still doing it after finishing gta v before the servers shut down. He told me he has to do a lot of boosting with a group, though I’ve never played the game enough to know the trophies and what they entail.
Keep up the great content, Ryan! These ps3 videos are great. A few months ago, I finally upgraded from a ps3 to a ps5. I had to as soon as they announced GT7. Before that, I was just casually gaming on the PS3, playing some old classics. The GT franchise is what originally led me to get the PS3, and now the PS5.
@@DeadSpacedOut so far, great! It's obviously a huge step up from the PS3 in every way. I've been playing some GTSport and that has been fun, but really looking forward to GT7 soon. However, I will still be playing the PS3 from time to time because it still holds up and is fun. Great library of games.
Man, you missed out on a lot of great PS4 games. Sony pretty much went all in on single player with the PS4. Luckily PS5 is backwards compatible with all PS4 games. I'd definitely check out the PS Plus collection to get you up to speed for some great PS4 games!

Split Second, such a great arcade racer. One of the best and fun arcade racers I've played. Only downside online was that everyone was triggering things in the first lap, so there wasn't much left in the 2nd lap unless you switched routes. But mostly by lap 3, there were hardly any triggers left except for the ones that had unlimited triggering. Trying to make a 'spiritual succesor' to it.
Split Second was Awsome! You’re making a successor or they are? Edit: 12:44 Lordnumb is STILL PLAYING?! 🤣🤣 I played with that man damn near 5 years ago! Always beat me too!
@@thefirsttrillionaire2925 Funny, I thought I replied to you already on this. Seem like the message is gone or removed. But sorry for the confusion, I'm the one trying to make a 'spiritual successor' to Split Second, not the Disney or the studio that created Split Second. Although I'm just 1 person and currently just pretend it's a hobby and a way of learning the whole game-development process. And I want everything in the game created by myself. So no use of assets from others and such. Except for sound bits, as I'm not an audio expert. Split Second itself is owned by Disney and the studio that developed Split Second, was dismantled and put onto others projects, or something like that. I also think it wasn't a financial success (in the eyes of a giant like Disney), so a sequel was scrapped. For me, Split Second was a near perfect and fun arcade racer. It just 'missed' some things because you can find faults in any game you play a lot. And not so much faults but more of "The next time they should do this and that to expand on it".
Awesome video, if you ever do another make sure to include Warhawk. The community reverse-engineered what they needed to in order to get the server browser working again after it was shut down. Last I checked they'd have like 3+ full servers at peak hours.
I miss the old days of the PS3 I remember playing skate 3 which was epic, if Sony can bring back the OG PS1,PS2,PS3,PSP and PS Vita games I’ll be happy 😃
So glad that I have been following this series since last 3 years. I had a ps3 back then and managed to get a ps4 in 2021 but deep down i miss ps3 and your videos take me back. So thanks
Played my first ever multiplayer on the ps3 killzone 2 .. I remember being blown away at the fact i was playing and talking to players from all over the 🌎 …rainbow 6 Vegas 2 too …
PS3 is great console. it doesn't matter if you are gamer playing on a PS3 or a PS5 as long as you are entertained and having fun. That's what's most important.
Damn I remember playing Bad Company 2 on the Xbox 360 online. That shit was so fun man, so many hours poured into it and don't regret it. Wish I could go back or at least experience that feeling once more
Hell, as a bonus it even has the power and capability to play PS1 games! Crazy to have such a difficult console to emulate such as the PS1 available on a modern console, right?
I wouldn't call the PS3 modern? The PS1 relied on the PS3 actually having a PS1 chip in it - it wasn't emulated. Latter versions lost the chip to save money and couldn't do most PS1 titles as a result... I still have two PS3's, though I never use them, and one is the original day one release and the other is a later model without the PS1 chip.
@@titntin5178 the PS3 never did PS1 in hardware, and neither did later PS2s it was in software, similar to newer PS2 models which emulated it in software on a PowerPC based co-processor which replaced the PS1's CPU (which was also used as a co-processor) which reduced compatibility, but still worked well

You're my favourite gaming youtuber, videos like this are always an insta-click for me. One of the few channels that is still about the joy of playing videogames rather than the weekly drama going on in the industry. Keep it up!
I feel exactly the same.
My thoughts exactly

You can get one pretty easy tbh. It really is much easier.
I still play Battlefield: Bad Company 1 on PS3. Will often find myself in 12v12 online games. I always have and always will love the simplicity and quirks of the game. It's just more fun to me than the new stuff.
BFBC2 is legendary.
It only needs 1 thing, and thats the ability to prone
@@GoodlyPenguin you have to keep insisting, it’s a glitch. It will eventually connect
I used to play Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle Cars (The game created before rocket league)
I'm astounded to see PS3's online support is still going on and I plan to eventually set mine up again to see if that game is still alive
Oh my god you just unlocked a deep memory from me. Always played the demo. I can remember the Title Song too hhaha
I've resurrected my ps3 just to play online again, Its Great to see people still playing this console.
I've at least two fat PS3 that need to be fixed but the issue is that I don't how the skills to replace the capacitors it seems that the only repair store is a half an hour drive from my home and charges just as much money as a cost to buy another console.
@@GenerationZ313 sounds like you're getting random shut downs red blinking light like mine 😭 yea.. after research I'm pretty sure the capacitors on my fat are busted too.. sadly.. it's only certain games to that crash it .
@@lunarblackstar1 one of the consoles has the yellow light of death and the other one turns on just fine for like 30 seconds before the fan starts blasting as loudly as a jet engine
You're literally an anthropologist for doing this
Hey, these ps3 online videos have always been great! Would be cool to watch a 2023 edition
For my part, I keep my PS3 to play SSX 2012 time to time with friends that I always seen on this game since almost 10 years. I loved the game and his community even if right now of course we are much less, but it's the reason why I still have my PS3.
Why to love ps3-
- Legendary game line up
-Excellent graphics( for that time)
-free online!!!
-less laggy than ps4
-doesnt copy discs and updates
And many more
Less laggy than PS4???
Less laggy than the PS4? In what world? 😭
@@boomboominroomthe ps4 has had more lag than my ps3
Yeah that is absolutely true, with every software update the connectivity gets worse and worse for the ps4.
I rarely experience lag on ps4 lol.
I'm actually shook that they didn't take offline off Fat Princess PS3 after the PS4 game came out.
(A lot of people miss those from what I've seen)
Anyways I started the whole thing about 3-4 months back because it's a pain to even boot up the PS3 but eventually I'll get it and if you really want to you can too. At least untill the finally decide to shut the servers down but I hope that won't be anytime soon.
My friend is still doing it after finishing gta v before the servers shut down. He told me he has to do a lot of boosting with a group, though I’ve never played the game enough to know the trophies and what they entail.
why tho. dont u wanna do something else?
Keep up the great content, Ryan! These ps3 videos are great.
A few months ago, I finally upgraded from a ps3 to a ps5. I had to as soon as they announced GT7. Before that, I was just casually gaming on the PS3, playing some old classics. The GT franchise is what originally led me to get the PS3, and now the PS5.
how are you enjoying the ps5 so far?
@@DeadSpacedOut so far, great! It's obviously a huge step up from the PS3 in every way. I've been playing some GTSport and that has been fun, but really looking forward to GT7 soon.
I've also played the Spiderman games, and they are amazing.
Overall, its worth upgrading to (especially from a PS3).
@@ekll absolutely, ps3 has the best catalogue imo, altho i only play ps4 n ps5 games these days, outside of other consoles of course.
@@wastelandwanderer2693 yeah I really have! Glad the PS5 is backwards compatible, so i can play the games with great hardware. I'll be sure to dive more into them! Thanks!
This is a great video I can’t believe ppl stil play these games this is just amazing
It hadn’t hit me how quickly 2021 flew by until you uploaded this video… felt like just a few months ago you uploaded the 2021 video 😰
I have it on Xbox, and Split Second is damn fun.
PS3 gonna live till 2025 marks my word mystic, it’s more active than last year tbh
Buy and play DBXenoverse. The online is on, there is a ton of people there
Awesome video, if you ever do another make sure to include Warhawk. The community reverse-engineered what they needed to in order to get the server browser working again after it was shut down. Last I checked they'd have like 3+ full servers at peak hours.
I JUST looked this up to check if you’ve done a 2022 version of this video! Thank you!!
7:42 - 9:55 These guys are absolute legends. He is right about paying extra to play online
You should bring Terrell on more, you guys have great chemistry!
I miss the old days of the PS3 I remember playing skate 3 which was epic, if Sony can bring back the OG PS1,PS2,PS3,PSP and PS Vita games I’ll be happy 😃
Skate 3 is still active, but it mostly Mega Park kids who rage quits every second.
I have so many memories with Skate 2 online
not gonna happen those games are outdated
Cod4,world at war ,mw2 all still active on PS3 I recently got back into playing some PS3
LETS GO DADDY MYSTIC KNEW I WANTED THIS
So glad that I have been following this series since last 3 years.
I hate people that are like "nO PS5???////?/?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣"
I still have two PS3's, though I never use them, and one is the original day one release and the other is a later model without the PS1 chip.
the PS1 is not difficult at all to emulate
@@titntin5178 the PS3 never did PS1 in hardware, and neither did later PS2s
it was in software, similar to newer PS2 models which emulated it in software on a PowerPC based co-processor which replaced the PS1's CPU (which was also used as a co-processor) which reduced compatibility, but still worked well
The psp can Emulate Ps1 too its not difficult at all
@@CJ123 I'm glaring at my PS5, wanting to play Tekken 3 and wondering how many people missed that I was being a little tongue-in-cheek. Still, very happy to have my PS3 for these moments though.
Hearing that guy talk about boycotting PS4 due to having to pay for online play brought me back to my younger self. I held out from PS4 for like 4 or 5 years after launch because as a cod player on PS3 I thought it was insanity that you would now have to pay for online play. Look how far I've fallen since then smh.
