I need this... I've been moving so much dirt over a great distance with my tractor! thanks for sharing, I didn't even know such a thing existed and I've been looking... I just need one with a hydraulic dump cylinder and that I can hook up to the front of my tractor!
I have never seen one of these attachments. It essentially a hopper “wheel barrel”. As you mentioned there are certain applications where it perfect size and function.
Disabilities are just an inconvenience and it is a learning curve to be able to deal with the disability. You do an excellent job of using what you have to deal with what you want to do. No one else is going to train you, it is muscle memory. Thank You for sharing the way that you are able to deal with everything.
another option is the dump trailer with a trailer hitch attachment on the skid steer to move it around. a lot less wieldy but a lot of people already have one
Really liked the explanation of your depth perception issues especially while doing something where depth perception is critically important. Like not swinging the excavator bucket into your skid steer haha
@Hometown Acres swinging that bucket into the glass door on the track loader is always a concern of mine. You can’t get away with a light tap on that glass. Ask me how I know.
What a wonderful tool Doug! You have all of the answers and do you things with such ease and grace. You are a great example to all the rest of us who are sometimes a little timid about getting out doing things. Never gave the depth of perception of thought. I’ll tell you what, you do an unbelievable job of spotting and following the shadows and probably just a lot of experience. See you on the next installment.
Great video, I was not aware that attachment was available. The fall leaves are close here in Nova Scotia so I’m anxiously awaiting your video on the blower for the tractor you talked about previously. Great content, appreciate your efforts
Thanks for showing us the attachment that definitely has a place in time for it. Would really like to know price on it because just maybe be as much as a dump trailer but then again a dump trailer can't get in places that can. Also I like the camera angles!
Also the “Good decent” soil is way better than the “Bad decent” stuff! Haha, great video Doug. You are obviously a successful person with a great attention to detail
Thanks, Doug! Great cam work and an interesting and 'new to me' piece of equipment! I can see some good use coming out of that for several applications. Thanks for another great and interesting video!
Doug, Any particular reason you don't travel with the dump unit lifted up? Seems like you could travel quickly while it's uploaded up off the ground, then move it around on the wheels once it's loaded. Maybe you're just trying to show how it works with the wheels. I gotta say those wheels look like they'd be destroyed in a few months carry a lot of dirt around. You hit one low stump sticking up, or rock and I could see the whole wheel assembly getting ripped right off of it. It's not that complex so would be relatively easy to fix if they got all bent up. But yeah that's a great SS attachment.
I don’t travel long distances with it up because bumps and stuff bounce it around and put a “shock load” on the hydraulics. As far as stumps and stuff, yes, it would destroy the front axles, but I pay pretty particular attention to make sure I try not to do that. Thanks for watching and great comment.
Doug, I just wanted to say I enjoy and appreciate your videos. Your very creative in what you do. What I like is you briefly explain what you do and your reason for it then you go into action. So many videos on UA-cam I will start to watch but then they go into a 10 to 15 minuet gab session on something that has nothing to do with the related topic of the video, it drives me absolutely insane and I end up moving onto something more interesting. Keep up with your videos. Would love to see your whole property..... 37 acres you said?? Again thanks.
The one size fits all lens that almost everyone uses on UA-cam videos makes it problematic for us watchers to discern sizes and lengths and distances . Is that a one yard capacity dumpster or 1.5 yard capacity . Nice video ,good job.
Yep, loss of depth perception sucks. I lost the center vision in my left eye 3 years ago this coming Thanksgiving from a double occlusion (blockage) in both the arteries and veins in the retina. Imagine waking up with an ink blot in the center of your left eye’s vision. Kind of a triple whammy, center vision, arterial blockage and venous blockage. Now I get an injection of medicine into that eye every 6 weeks. Fun, fun, fun.
I own/operate a landscaping company since 1998 which does almost half a mil in business a year and you have more and better equipment and attachments than me 10 fold lol
This is great! do you think you can fit your full construction bucket into the dump hauler for when you bring both out to the site and back with one trip and not two? It doesn't look like it, but it would be great if it did. And if not, wondering if the landscaping bucket would fit or if you have concerns about contact points. or how the weight would be carried. Thanks for the content Doug!
@Isaac W I think with some creativity and a welder you could make a way to set the bucket on the hopper. I’m sure even if it was to weld on ratchet strap hook points, the bucket could be strapped down safely to get both attachments to the work area. Great question!!! I might just have to go look at that possibility..
I thought the exact thing. The hiccup would be removing the digging bucket while attached to the CTL. But if you were to strap it dump it into the hopper crooked or whatever it would work. It would be pretty cool if you were to build some metal skeleton that would collapse on the side of the hopper so when you pin it all up it makes kind of a flat section so you can just put your digging bucket right on top of Hopper, disconnect from your CTL hook up to the hopper and drive out without ever getting out of the CTL. Then you would be the coolest. Lol
I noticed when you first started your skid steer up in this video that your skid steer bucket was a four-way bucket like a 4-way on a dozer blade. I've never seen that before and was curious is that an attachment you can buy or do you have to buy the whole bucket assembly
@Mclaughlin Farms there is a better explanation of it in this video ua-cam.com/video/IXN_O-lrKLU/v-deo.html check it out here. It is a separate attachment.
Doug, I have one of these hoppers, I find the handles for the skid steer attach get in the way when hooking and unhooking to it, is this why your handles are cut off? (I too have a t770 with the power tach, so I don't really see why the handles are long like they are)
@Up and Adam that is exactly why they are cut off!! I did make a tool should one of them ever get stuck, I can still toggle it over with the tool. Kind of a pipe welded on an angle that fits over the cut lever. I cut just enough off to be out of the way but still have the ability to manually lock it with the pipe. Good luck and thanks for the comment and view!
@phillip poulakis it is the bigger one. The smaller one is about half the width. The smaller one only has one wheel out front I believe. Thanks for the question!
I also have no depth perception. Still have both eyes just no depth perception. Was told when I was younger I had it then when I got my license at 16 they said I didnt. I've been an excavator operator for 18 years now and I never noticed not having depth perception until I started running machines. Loading trucks was quite difficult for a while and still have difficulties when working around utilities when having to dig under and behind them. But other than that I've used lots of tricks like you've mentioned to get by
@Kevin Kelly I do not have any merchandise for sale. The channel is pretty small still and I guess I didn’t think anyone would want any merchandise. I might have to start looking into it. Thank you!
Ahh yes, another very expensive fancy wheelbarrow HAHA!! I've never seen one of those before, would be very useful in tight spaces where you can't get a dump trailer or a dump truck into, probably need a narrower version of it though for many subdivision yards where the gates are really narrow, although I guess you probably could just dump it over the fence LOL.
No sir, just a guy that has had equipment all my life to maintain my property help others with theirs. As far as Bobcat, it just makes sense to stay with one brand for maintenance items and fluids. I don’t have to stock or keep different fluids for different machines.
You have a terrific tool!
I've never seen one of those. I can see that being better than a dump trailer, in a lot of cases. Great video.
Great video! Like the music and all the camera angles. Never new that hopper attachment even existed. Nice to have around.
@Spicer Designs It really makes it nice to be able to bring materials down from the woods and so on!
I need this... I've been moving so much dirt over a great distance with my tractor! thanks for sharing, I didn't even know such a thing existed and I've been looking... I just need one with a hydraulic dump cylinder and that I can hook up to the front of my tractor!
Man I love that attachment line up. Nice and cleanly laid out. You should give us a walk through of each attachment. I am beyond jealous

a very handy attachment doug
Thanks for showing us the attachment that definitely has a place in time for it.

Also I like the camera angles!
$7k or more, new in 2023
Cool attachment. I could use something like that myself from time to time.
That Bobcat hopper looks very handy to have without a lot of rationalization!
It looks like the state gave you some good stuff!
I enjoyed the video.
Interesting attachement. Would also be good for pouring concrete where a truck can't access, particularly muddy conditions.
Neat demo of cool “toys”. Great mixture of camera angles, too. 👍
Also the “Good decent” soil is way better than the “Bad decent” stuff! Haha, great video Doug. You are obviously a successful person with a great attention to detail

A monster powered wheel barrel. Love it.
Great to start a garden, dump Hopper is a great tool.😀🇦🇺
Great driving shots side by side with the skid steer

Nice video ,good job.
@Jean Valjohn this dump hopper is 87.9ft3 or 3.25 cubic yards. Hope this gives a better size understanding. Thanks for watching!
@@OneEyeCustoms WOW!
That's huge .
I'd have never guessed it.
Thanks
That is a really cool attachment. Seems like if you move dirt, you need one of these.

An eye injection would be horrible, let alone every 6 weeks!! No thank you!!
It’s all YOUR FAULT for feeding my desire for more man toys…to cleanup & maintain 89 wooded acres here in northern TN!!! 😎😜😇 Tim
great channel...keep em coming
Doug your neighbor has a dump trailer I know he’ll be happy to lend it to you!!
That would be super handy on the farm moving small piles of stuff
I own/operate a landscaping company since 1998 which does almost half a mil in business a year and you have more and better equipment and attachments than me 10 fold lol
I like the hopper. Is there any attachment you DONT have? You have nice equipment and you maintain them very well. Thanks for your good videos.
Like having a wheel barrow for your skid steer lol
Exactly!! 😁

Ha! Great answer, sir. I look forward to the next time you have to use this setup deep in the forest and only want to take one machine.
I thought the exact thing.

@Paul Mighty I might just have to look into doing something like that. It would be handy and might make a great video!
Where's Adam @hometownacres when you need him. Great demonstration though, definitely a useful option to have available for land management.

Is this the bigger or the smaller of the two hoppers bobcat sells? I couldn’t catch the label
@phillip poulakis it is the bigger one. The smaller one is about half the width. The smaller one only has one wheel out front I believe. Thanks for the question!
That's pretty slick. At 5:05, what are the pins that are on either side of the center pivot pin for?
It is the secondary pivot point.
❓ Is the right front bogey Bent on the hopper or is that an optical illusion?
It is all where it should be. Must be optically illusion

That would be a great attachment for the firewood crowd. I wonder how much one of those costs these days?
Cool
what do you do for depth perception?
I Watch my shadows. That’s the only thing I have kinda adapted to. Night time sucks!!!
How much does this attachment cost.
No idea these days. Everything has about doubled after covid.
Do you sell merchandise? If so where can I find it?

Hey Doug just curious, what profession were you in?
Who is handling the camera? Great job.
my wife Autumn
@@OneEyeCustoms Awesome. Really great handling. Really diversified, different perspectives. Steady Hand. Great to watch.
Where did you get the tool to clean out your tracks?
@Bill Fenner I make the track cleaning tools. Check out the video I did on the Earth Squeegee, it explains it in that video.
@@OneEyeCustoms okay I will do that.

That's the biggest wheelbarrow I've ever seen!
Hahahahaha, it sure is!!
Don't show Mike Morgan! If it'll help him in the wood yard or hauling a little rock around the neighborhood he'd get it.
You can’t read 3d maps or 3d movies you miss out on a lot of things
