I used to wear Ariat boots. Aside from the boots being made in China, I wasn't impressed with the fit. I discovered Cody James and Dan Post boots with a much better, more comfortable fit. I slipped them on right out of the box with very little or no break in required. I never need a bootjack to remove the boots. They slip off with ease. With all the problems we are currently having with China, it is great to wear boots made by multi-generational skilled bookmakers in Mexico. After wearing cowboy boots for many years in Texas, I consider any cowboy boots not made in the USA or Mexico to be "knock offs."
Boots made in Mexico is literally where these types of boots came from 🤣. In America they adopted the boots by Texas and the southwest. If anything cowboy boots are actually called "Botas Vaqueras". Real cowboy boots are made by shoemakers in Mexico.
Just bought the grey roughout Patriots for $95!!! They were on sale for 159 down from 200 and I had a 40% off corporate discount my friend gave me! I couldn't believe it, what a steal!!!
Jeremiah Craig I was looking into buying these but I heard that about two months after wearing them everyday the outsole got holes in them, I am a rubber sole wearer and don’t know much about leather but that sounds like a very bad sole to have
Good review. But dont agree that the toe medallion placement is being “picky”. The wrinkling of a broken in boot is a huge part to the look of them in my opinion. So you are spot on with that assessment. Wrinkles in the wrong places give the boot the sloppy look and makes it look like its the wrong fit even if it isnt.
I have the Ariat Sport Patriots in black and I love them. The upper is like a canvas instead of leather, and they’re tough as hell. They’re my everyday boots.
Jeremiah Craig Ive always struggled to find the right size. I haven’t been able to get to a store to try various ones on, so I just have to guess and order them online. My Ariat’s are a 10.5D, but they’re a little tight in the mid foot. I might have to go up to EE
Happy with my ariat circuit wildhorse boots. Got them on clearance. The mexican versions are significantly higher quality with all the comfort and support technology we all know and love ariat for. Would love to see more toe shapes and even a rubber sole from the mexican line. A leather sole just doesnt cut it when you use the boot for working.
I would like to see more toe shapes. Check out their Relentless line for Mexican made with rubber soles. Nice but I think the exotics are a little overpriced
These look nice on you. My brother loves Ariat boots, swears by them. I’m not a fan of the white stitching on these, though. I think I’d like them better with black stitching. Ariat is one of the brands I don’t have, but likely will eventually. Every time I look at their selection, my head spins, they have so many. Seems like a line I would want to be able to try on in person. I would love a patriotic pair of boots, I’m always looking at the Durango Stars and Stripes boot. Even though Durango is a more cheaply made boot, I love the Durango style of snip toe. Not too pointy, just a perfect little snip. The shaft has the red white and blue flag design, which would be covered by my jeans...but I still think they would be fun to wear.
Gotta love the patriotic boots!! I agree. The white stitching does stand out quite a bit but I think that's the point sometimes. Still I like the stitching to be a bit more reserved so I don't feel like I have to clean them as much haha
I agree with the white stitching comment, so what I usually do is get an old toothbrush, use some polish that pretty much matches the boot, and make the stitching match the boot closer.
Great review again Jeremiah. The toe medallion placement is Not being picky. I think it can really upgrade the look of the boots after they are worn in but not if they are in the wrong place. Totally think that it is a valid point for you to mention. Appreciate the details that you put into your reviews. Some reviews I have seen just tell you how great the boot looks and that doesn’t help someone else picking out boots. It is the details that matter. We all have our likes and dislikes. Thanks again for being detailed with your reviews. Have a great Independence Weekend and stay safe and healthy.
@@JeremiahCraig That's true. For most of my boots I don't mind them being darker from the mink oil, but for the ones I don't want that to happen I do a few rounds of conditioner anyway. BTW, great channel.
I have this boot and brown and I love them. They look very good and classy. I use them specifically for dancing with the leather insoles so it’s easier to move around. I’ve had two of them and the leather does break down after about a year. The 4LR is very comfortable but the shoe does NOT breath very well because of the leather interior. The other thing is I wear a 12 D. I normally wear 13, sometimes 14 and I’ve noticed that with a wide square toe boot like these, I need a 12 so that my foot doesn’t slide around and the heel doesn’t lift up. I also needed to get the stretched because they were very tight and stiff before that but once I get it a bit stretched and broke them in they were amazing.
Bought the brown ones in 10.5 D. Just a bit tight on my right foot, but after 3 days they are very comfortable. Also after using obenauf's leather oil they are a nice darker brown
A very nice boot! If you want a awesome place to go buy boots, I suggest going to Vegas and trying this cowboy boot outlet called cowtown you can get boots for amazing prices!
Quick question, how much would a pair of tony lama boots be if they were made of 100% bull hide. I mean the whole boot top and bottom are bull hide. Today I bought a pair from a guy for 55 dollars. They are brand new. Can you tell me if it was a good deal? Thanks, love your videos. The style # inside reads H6657
They'd probably go from around $250-$325 new depending on where you got them. So yes, you got a good deal if they were new. A really good deal. Congrats!
@@JeremiahCraig i got them here in Los Angeles California. They still had the stickers on the bottom of the soles that says quality leather soles. Thanks for replying back, not a lot of channels do that. Love your songs 😎

Great video Jeremiah. What’s your opinion on Ariat ropers? They’re a cheap but comfortable boot with no fuss and I have no problem using them as my beater pair
