I'm not sure what's up with SRB2 mods and wanting to make the most overpowered, unbalanced, edit of a character(usually Sonic) ever. I mean, yeah, there's the handwaving, "who cares" response of "I'm having fun" and "meme mod", but I still don't really get it tho and it's not a very good joke. Ah yes, I totally wanna smack my face against walls in every level while playing as a gray robot or a bad scribble version of Sonic with uncontrollable speed. Fun! Maybe it's a beginner mod, but ehhh idk I feel like something better could've been done than just making an overpowered edit of the same character.
Even beginner mods can be good. Take a look at the Playable Snick mod. It was bro’s first mod, just an edited Sonic in terms of moveset but he kept it balanced. I guess once mods like SMS pulled up, everyone was like “WRITE THAT DOWN, WRITE THAT DOWN.”
Clone Metal had actually received an update with the Chatracters Recarbonated bundle, he was nerfed in movement, given a power bar that instakills him if he reaches 0, and the super form reverts his movement to the old stats
3:26 i'd say that in order to readd the initial fun yet keep the new abilities is to make him a mech like character slowing his speed and acel for more chaining together shots
I forgot this video was there, I can agree with your points. But the thing is that it's just an overpowered clone of metal sonic because it's obvious. It's from Sonic The Fighters, but what I can agree on, is that the abilities are interesting. And that's really it, honestly nothing else but it's cool. Also, I was asking you to review my addon. You don't have to review it, it was called GamingChars.
i wish i knew how to mod srb2 properly because, especially since i knew this character was based on the monochrome metal sonic you face if you yourself ARE playing as metal sonic, i thought, while a palette swap, this character would at least have a LITTLE promise i really want to make a rehash of this mod to balance him out just because 1, it'd be relatively simple, and 2, the concept of playing as the boss version of metal sonic is just kinda cool in my opinion
I think you should probably do a review once again because clone metal Sonic has been given a nerfed mostly an energy where if you use any of your abilities like the flying or charge up this will waste your energy and once your energy goes to zero you basically die so I don't know I think they kind of just balance him out a little bit
I like to think metal needs oxygen for 1 of 2 reasons 1. Metal has an animal in them for power and that animal is the one needing oxygen. 2. Metal is just copying sonic and his "drowning" thing.
The canon reason is apparently something to do with his engine malfunctioning when wet, which is kind of a cop out, and all the elite robots in Eggman's army outside of the initial line of E-Series are powered by alternate means other than Critters - I prefer that, because it would otherwise dampen how intimidating/cool they appear to be. I do think the idea that Metal only drowns because Sonic does is hilarious though - Grade A Hater, will unnecessarily die just to show how much better at it he is in comparison to his "loathsome copy".
Regarding to the Carbon Isles: Sketchzelle really improved him/herself since Seaside Coast back in OLDC 2022. I think Sketchzelle will become a famous modder, because his levels are just getting better.
