Dr Eggman was drawn the same way from the beginning, in his classic form. I believe this was done on purpose, because, in Metal Sonic's perspective, his creator hasn't progressed a single bit since day one. For Metal, he's the same person after all this time: a Flawed self-irritated failure of a man. I really really liked this video, the format is amazing.
I actually like how Sonic looks like menacing with an aggressive smile and how Eggman and Metal Sonic described him as a monster in their perspective. That’s equivalent to how every villains viewed Batman as a monstrous beast, even if he's just a man in a costume. After all, every villains are the heroes of their own story.
After 5 long years, you made something serious again, and just like Eggman's history, I love it! After watching those 2 videos I once again realise that fans can do much better than SEGA was ever able to.
I love how this vid ultimately becomes a jab at the franchise itself for no longer using Metal to his full potential, but DAAAMN, he went straight-up nihilistic at the end
I genuinely feel bad for Metal at the end, knowing that you can't do a thing about your fate or future no matter what you are given is a painful revelation for something like Metal Sonic.
This reminds me of the image from one of the comics, where robotnik is repairing Metal, asks ‘Did ya atleast hit him’ or something along those lines. Metal gives a thumbs up, and Eggman says ‘Thata boy!’ I really hope that Robotnik and Metal will care for eachother in this..
It was something like this: "He wouldn't recognize a true work of art if it punched him in the face! ...You did punch him in the face, right?" *thumbs up* "Attaboy!" Also, I love how he is fixing Metal personally. Not using any other capsules, no other machines. Just him, his greatest creature and a good old screwdriver. Kinda shows their connection
I really liked this bio and i liked how it shows that metal sonic is so overused to the point he will never be as cool as he used to be and is basically a jobber now. I also liked how when metal sonic betrays eggman he sees sonic and friends for who they truly are rather than how eggman wanted him to see them as. He even began to recognize that he and eggman were villains and weren't the heroes he once thought they were. Honestly i kinda wished you touched upon metal sonic's insecurity of not being the real sonic. Metal's identity is so tied to sonic that nobody recognizes him as his own person they just see him as a "metal" sonic. So in heroes he wanted to roboticize the entire world so that he won't be "metal" sonic anymore, just sonic. But still i like how this bio basically just shows how metal lost his edge and isn't that cool anymore.
It's honestly really depressing that endless loop Metal Sonic's in thanks to Eggman's mentality. It reminds some lines from Starline in the IDW comics: "Neo Metal Sonic nearly succeded in reviving the Eggman Empire. But he acted too brashly. He thought overwhelming power would win the day without a proper plan. I thought because he'd been designed as a counter to Sonic, a ballistic missile with a built-in grudge. But the first bio-data he downloaded was Eggman's. And here we are, seeing the *exact same* brute-force strategy. I got lost in the pageantry, in his showmanship. I was Inspired by Eggman's legend. The man simply doesn't measure up."
and now Starline made the exact same mistakes as Eggman, he even made his own version of Metal Sonic in the form of Surge, complete with a built in grudge and massive identity issues. heck recently in the comics Surge even started eating Whisps for a power boost just like how Metal ate a bunch of Chao in this video.
Honnestly as a fan of metal sonic, this video was so sick, I loved how it gave a new prospective on every game metal sonic has been featured in. Plus I loved how it added truly new and great layers to metal sonic's character, and how it adds a proper build up to his betrayal in sonic heroes. Plus I love how the ending was both a fitting ending to his arch, and a meta commentary on how metal sonic is basically treated by sega. Basically this was just great all around.
Fudging claps all around! The story flowed excellently and featured the actual plot lines of the sonic games form metals perspective, music, as always, on POINT! And same with the voice acting. I love love LOVE this!!!!!
As with the Eggman version, I like to see how they see the facts of the games, in their own way, and how they see the characters. It also caught my attention, that after adventure 2, sonic, tails, knuckles, amy, rouge ect... now they are not exaggerations, but rather they are more similar to their official designs. I guess maybe it's because metal already sees those characters as heroes, or something.
i think the idea is it's symbolic of metal breaking free from eggman's influence (and possibly suggesting that eggman was an unreliable narrator in the first one). metal starts out seeing the world through a filter of eggman's programming, as such he sees sonic and his friends in the same way as eggman, but as he becomes more independent and defiant he begins to see them as they are, without eggman's perception.
THIS is the kind of characterization Metal needed. There's so much potential for story telling with such an iconic robot doppelganger, and Heroes barely scratches the surface. This was a much more interesting take on it. Awesome job to everyone involved!
God, i love when people make sonic characters get so many more layers to characters that the company that they actually belong to dont even feel like giving them. Makes the games/movies fanbase even better in my opinion.
Man this makes me feel so sad for metal. Just how much he's gone through and so much pain that you can feel in his voice when he talked about his failure and neglect
This is genuinely the best representation of Metal I've ever seen. I don't know how, but you managed to capture just how damn deep of a character Metal is and told his life in just such a moving way. The way he descends into desperation after failing constantly ... like just WOW. and the NARRATION IS SOO GOOD WTF. THE ANIMATION FITS SO WELL AND THE WRITING LIKE HOW??? Gosh I can't get over how much I LOVE this. I'm so glad this is my introduction to your channel you've earned a sub outa me ❤
I love how he implied that he murdered the chao. But like in canon. They just cant be stabbed to death. They can only die natuarly and they are more dense than metal. (Sources: adventure 1,2 advance 2,3 and probably somewhere else)
Tbh. Its likely his copy ability is derived from the chao drives. Any creature, living or not, that uses the power of the chaos emeralds is always left with a residue of power on them and Chao can use this energy to evolve at will. With just Sonic and Shadow's data he would still look like Neo Metal Sonic, albeit slightly stronger. He needed the Chao data to facilite his dragonic transformation and to be able to draw upon ambient chaos energy to power it.
Something I noticed at the end with the "I give up" at the end, it sounded like there was a sudden jolt of emotion before it cut off into the static, I don't know if it was intentional but it works so well
This was amazing! That part with the Chao? I was expecting something wholesome, was not expecting "that". Maybe a story about Shadow next? Delve into Gerald's past and his relationship with Maria, perhaps explore parts of their relationship we didn't get to see.
@@tooning779 we know a bunch about Knuckles he’s the guardian of the master emerald and angel island. It doesn’t really intersect well with this eggman storyline. I feel like Orbot and Cubot could well utilize the characters Metal and Eggman.
@@tooning779 it’s mostly a mystery to him as well. He chose to spend his life guarding the master emerald while knowing nothing of his origin. And we already know about the Knuckles Clan like Tikal and the Mystic Ruins. We know nothing about Orbot and Cubot the two perfect characters for a trilogy of Eggman, Metal Sonic and Orbot & Cubot.
25:12-27:22 SWEET MOTHER OF GOD! Metal Sonic sure was hungry, hopefully he had a good meal and filled up that poor starving stomach of his, also I felt so sad to where I wanted to just give him a huge hug and never let him go, he will always have a special place in my heart (/ Edited Note: This was also very well done /)
The movies are definitely teasing him with the fact that Robotnik has a quill to make his machines go as fast as Sonic himself. He has to be the final antagonist of the series.
This may be a bit on the nose, but I’d love to see what his interpretation of the past on Sonic The Hedgehog himself. It’d be interesting to see how he became the speedy, confident hedgehog he is now.
i really like how sonic and his friend look less "evil(?)" the more we get closer to the modern era of the game and how the good guy and bad guys slowly swap
I may be 2 years late, but I haven't seen a comment talking about this, so here we go. I love how Metal comes to the same realization that forms Sonic's philosophy of living life to the fullest, but instead of taking it that way, he looks at it in a pessimistic light and finds no point in anything.
Bravo! Amazing! Honestly, Metal is such an interesting character and I love the way you wrote him. Eggman's biography was so interesting to me and this does not disappoint. And that final Act, it hits so hard. You are a brilliant story teller!
I'm glad this came out! The storytelling, the art, the way you represented each game, the details and the voice acting. It's all great, good work! Edit: also the dialogue and writing is also awsome as well, like really well written.
Something i noticed after a bit over a year after this was originally uploaded is that while metal sonic can now perceive sonic and his friends normally instead of the furry gremlins eggman sees them as, metal still sees him as his classic version showing that despite everything, eggman has never changed or grew as a person.
This reminds me of Omega, he also despised eggman for wasting his potential. The difference is Omega joined team dark while metal sonic stood with eggman. Wonder how metal would react to Omega in this scenario, maybe seeing him as lucky for escaping this "loop."
the fact over time the image of sonic becomes less Monstrous (Aka Doctor eggmans view of sonic) to more what he really looks like. as if metal is getting a personality and point of view on life, while he still sees eggman as what he used to be.
Damn i didn’t expect to see this in my feed, but i have to blatantly admit i was waiting quite awhile to see a sequel to the Eggman, video, and you definitely didn’t disappoint me Mugi, i expected it to be really good, but man you blew my expectations out of the park, though i like how you made Metal, so similar to Shadow, which i quite enjoy i mean you just gave him a better personality, plus just making him more ambitious which helps explain why he did what he did in Heroes, he just wanted to be free to conquest on his own without Eggman, or anyone supporting him yes that’s a reference to the Biolizard’s, boss theme title, and also i just love how you incorporate the lore of the games even spin-offs, by detailing it, and giving more context to things. Now I’d really love to see a video like this on Rogue, Tails, and Sonic, himself to see his side of the story since in the Eggman, video he’s demonized, but i have to see Sonic’s, opinion, and point of view of Eggman, since to us Sonic, is the hero aside from the times Eggman, helped the good guys, anyway that being said you would have to make liberty’s for a lot of their stories that we don’t see in the games mainly Rogue, to be honest i can see her as a hooker, though do to her brains she’s brought in to work as a agent since she’s seen as better than just a hooker bimbo, you could probably spin some interesting crap like that, but heck maybe you can even do this with other series’s in this style. even though i know you’re the sonic guy, but i just love this concept honestly.
I dig it! This really does summarize Metal Sonic's arc, all while presenting what his thoughts & contemplating may have been at those respective times.
Oh my gosh, he's in the Chao Garden! Finally, a work that shows his softer si- _Oh..._ ----- In all seriousness, as a massive Metal Sonic fan, I appreciate this fan work. Like Metal himself, sometimes I wish that he would achieve victory of some sort... but as long as what Sega continues to write his fate, the future doesn't look bright. Perhaps in another time, and another place... _cough cough_ fan creations not restrained to canon _cough_ ...he could find happiness, and maybe that's what I'll have to settle for. Again, exceptional work here. While it's unlikely that you'll tackle anything Metal-centric in the future, I wish you the best of luck with whatever you have planned next regardless
Metal Sonic thinking of the philosophy of videogames that Eggman just made up to keep himself sane and blow off steam from failures is kinda hilarious.
man how eggman fell from grace became good to evil. I REALLY LIKED THIS BIOGRAPHY I LOVE THIS INTERPATATION OF METAL SONIC ITS HHGHGHGH AMAZING I WISH TO SEE MORE AMAZING JOB MUGIMIKEY
Now I kinda want a Sonic Biography because seeing how he was depicted by both Eggman and Metal in their own unique way I think it's would be interesting to see what Sonic have to say for himself and how he see the others.
So this is where Robotnik went after his tragic backstory. Right into the more traditional depiction. Which calls into question whether any of what he said earlier is true, that the animals were in any way safe during the process that uses them as power sources.
You know I kind of feel like this is a story that he's telling the Sage after she finds him in the back of a broom closet or something. I do really hope that Metal Sonic comes back in the video games in a really cool way
I love everything about this. Metal Sonic has been growing on me lately, and this was just the cherry on top. I'm eating all this up. Thank you for all your amazing work.
His is well made and I like how it covered metal sonics origins from CD all the way up to bland forces. Did metal sonic really conically consumed the blue chaws to become metal emperor? It is sad to see something as amazing as metal sonic to be reduced to nothing more then a slight upgraded side bad guy. I would actually like if robotic won and succeeded in killing off sonic and see how the franchise would go in a alternative time line.
@@peeka_ Its implied he needs to at least see or touch the being he intends to copy the lifeform data. Its also not instantaneous and it can be interupted (and even corrupted if he is damaged sufficently). Also not every Metal Sonic has copying bio-data enabled. Which the widely believed reason why Metal no longer talks or grows into his Neo form. Eggman is weary of letting Metal run rampant, even if it could lead to Sonics demise. Should be pointed out the Eggman built Metal Sonic from life-form data of Sonic himself (albeit its quite out-dated information) so eating creatures is not required... also metal has no mouth to "eat" tho nothing stopping from coating himself in blood with his claws. Also "life-form" data isnt that hard a concept. There are people building robots and drones IRL that mimic animals for movement.
I dont know why, but when metal sonic said "I give up" at the end, it hit me with a strange vibe. it's sad that metal sonic will always be used for the same purpose, and no free will
I love how demonized the characters looked, sonic was especially cool looking. I always amagined sonic being this overly, cocky, rude, selfish, and especially mean; And only did good deeds when he felt needed or thought he’d be rewarded.
Metal sonic here reminds me of the IDW comics of him, but less like a killing machine. I wish they brought this aspect of his character over to IDW of him potentially having a personally other then being a killing machine for Eggman. Maybe we could have an IDW story where sonic and Tails goes into an alternate timeline, and sees that Metal Sonic took over the world without Eggman being there, and Metal hating him as a failure, compared to how he see himself. Or maybe Cream the Rabbit can try to reform Metal to fight for good instead of evil. And maybe Cream and Metal could potentially be good friends. With Metal seeing a side of life that he never had before under Eggman. I know Sega's going to say that Metal Sonic has to be a rival to Sonic, but I argue that Metal Sonic is way more then just a simple rival or killing machine. He can think; and is self aware about what's going on.
Between this and the Robotnik video (Wow can't believe that one's 5 years old), I ADORE your alternate interpretation of these characters. While I struggle to slot them in as "headcanon," I absolutely love thinking about them as alternate universe versions of the characters we've come to know over the last 30 years. If you ever do another one of these, I'd be ecstatic to see what you have in mind. And even if these stay as a duology, they're a damn fine piece of Sonic fan-media.
Holy shit, the Chao Garden part took me off guard. The somber remix of the "Goodbye" theme was just.....if there was an anti-chef's kiss, that'd be it.
Man i feel bad for robotnik. He really is starting become his father, obsession from his enemy turned to making his most "valuable" creation which is why i also feel bad for Metal sonic, due to sonic and constant failure and now metal is in a constant repeat of racing sonic, to the point where he is now called racing footer

Bro Metal really roasted Eggman. “Imagine conquering the world just to lose. couldn’t be me. Literally”
Metal gives a thumbs up, and Eggman says ‘Thata boy!’
I really hope that Robotnik and Metal will care for eachother in this..
It was something like this:
"He wouldn't recognize a true work of art if it punched him in the face!
...You did punch him in the face, right?"
*thumbs up*
"Attaboy!"
Also, I love how he is fixing Metal personally. Not using any other capsules, no other machines. Just him, his greatest creature and a good old screwdriver. Kinda shows their connection
Narrator: *They did not.*
@@avragidootisdumb thats right
I really liked this bio and i liked how it shows that metal sonic is so overused to the point he will never be as cool as he used to be and is basically a jobber now.
It reminds some lines from Starline in the IDW comics:
"Neo Metal Sonic nearly succeded in reviving the Eggman Empire.
@@anthonyrodriguez8788 well said
@@Jann75 he also got bodied by Eggman

@@spoonybard2380 Exactly, in fact, when I thought about it more... I came to the same conclusion
This was a very well written deep dive into Metal's history. Really wish Metal could be revitalized, althought we all know that isn't happening.
Imagine him coming back in the newest game.
It’s even cooler when you get to see the whole projects process from behind the scenes. Good job as always! 🔵🤖
I like how Robotnik still keeps his classic clothes, sells the whole metal sonic‘s perspective point of view.
I'm so glad this is my introduction to your channel you've earned a sub outa me ❤
Metal Sonic saying "Fairness is a social construct" like he's giving a lecture genuinely cracked me up.
The biography nobody wanted but the one we deserve.
🤓
I wanted it
@@originalname4701 same
Well i kind of did since i remember the cliffhanger, from last time, but i want to see a sonic one just to see Sonic’s point of view.
Everyone wants it
I love how he implied that he murdered the chao.
I like that the chao were being litral animals eating other animals themselves
Then in Frontiers It said that they were apparently Koco.
Maybe we could get a story on Orbot and Cubot?
We need a Daddy Dearest or Amy Rose one.
@@moniqueperkinsmp do you mean Gerald Robotnik?
The sequel we never knew we needed
I don't know about you, but I definitely did need this.

SWEET MOTHER OF GOD! Metal Sonic sure was hungry, hopefully he had a good meal and filled up that poor starving stomach of his, also I felt so sad to where I wanted to just give him a huge hug and never let him go, he will always have a special place in my heart
(/ Edited Note: This was also very well done /)
Metal would tear you to bloody pieces, hugging him is just an invitation for him to make you eat your own heart.
Now I want him as the final and main antagonistic of the Sonic movies.
Ah yes, the adorable mechanical murder child, the best Sonic, Metal Sonic. With a tragic story. He deserves a break.
I like how metal doesn't view robotnik as his master but more as doctor looking after a sick patient
i really like how sonic and his friend look less "evil(?)" the more we get closer to the modern era of the game
and how the good guy and bad guys slowly swap
Metal being my favorite character in the series, this was real treat. Really an outstanding job you've done for this video my guy.
That part where metal starts eating the Chao's genuinely shocked me, it took a dark turn real quick. Well done
Metal Sonic is definitely an underrated character in the franchise. I'd love to see Metal Sonic come back in Frontiers.
He did not
Truly a fate worse than death. This Ozymandias has no mouth, and they must scream.
"a resting bich face as he crossed into the unknown"
"how to be a cheap bastard."
That caugth me so off guard that i laugthed
The scene where Metal did “things” to the chao really made me stay up all night
I love how you had time to make backstories for the two Sonic bad guys, I can't wait for the future of this series and what it has to offer
I liked how you managed to side-step a lot of metal sonic's confusing history
24:58:"That Betty Boop Rouge is short circuited my brain".😂
Man. Love these Bios.
Need to see more Sonic characters in here such as Tails, Amy and Knuckles.
I love how that according to Mikey, Sonic the Fighters and Sonic R are just video games within the Sonic universe.
I dig it! This really does summarize Metal Sonic's arc, all while presenting what his thoughts & contemplating may have been at those respective times.
Oh my gosh, he's in the Chao Garden! Finally, a work that shows his softer si- _Oh..._
-----
In all seriousness, as a massive Metal Sonic fan, I appreciate this fan work.
See, your mistake was thinking that a character that literally has "Metal" in the name would have a soft side
i love how over time metal sonic stops seeing sonic as the demon he is portrayed as and more like his normal self
Metal Sonic thinking of the philosophy of videogames that Eggman just made up to keep himself sane and blow off steam from failures is kinda hilarious.
Can't believe its been 5 years since the first one! So worth the wait!!
I never thought we’d have a sequel. But I am so glad we do have one
man how eggman fell from grace became good to evil.
I remember your amazing dubs, thank you for still making content. This is an amazing video on Metal!
It’s very interesting to see biography of metal sonic. You can also see Eggman’s descent into madness.
So this is where Robotnik went after his tragic backstory. Right into the more traditional depiction. Which calls into question whether any of what he said earlier is true, that the animals were in any way safe during the process that uses them as power sources.
Eggman's conflict with sonic drove him mad
@@boogaloobender3462perhaps, but given what we see of his behavior during the Vietnam War section, he’s done some nasty stuff even when he was “sane.”
You know I kind of feel like this is a story that he's telling the Sage after she finds him in the back of a broom closet or something. I do really hope that Metal Sonic comes back in the video games in a really cool way
We finally know the real reason the Chao Garden vanished after SA2. 26:20
Thank you for giving my favorite Sonic charecter some justice! The story was so well made, i hope to see more of this in the future!
let's go it's here!
I love everything about this. Metal Sonic has been growing on me lately, and this was just the cherry on top. I'm eating all this up. Thank you for all your amazing work.
Hope he sees this reply!
I searched up “Metal sonic” on a whim and I’ve never been happier to find a video
There's no canonical explanation as to how Metal could copy bio data
“That is who I am.”
Nice little homage to Shadow there.
I dont know why, but when metal sonic said "I give up" at the end, it hit me with a strange vibe. it's sad that metal sonic will always be used for the same purpose, and no free will
I'm so glad you finally followed up on the Eggman biography video, it's probably my favorite video from you
I love how demonized the characters looked, sonic was especially cool looking. I always amagined sonic being this overly, cocky, rude, selfish, and especially mean; And only did good deeds when he felt needed or thought he’d be rewarded.
Metal Sonic: How did you beat me?!
Sonic: We're Sonic Heroes!
*Starts beating up Metal Sonic*
metal gives up
Metal sonic here reminds me of the IDW comics of him, but less like a killing machine.
YESS I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!
That last part was amazing! Makes you really see the character in a different light. Good job!!
24:58 That Rouge in the corner caught me so off-guard. XD.
"A resting b*tch face as he crossed into the unknown"
Classic.
8:54 WAS NOT PREPARED TO HEAR METAL SAY THAT JFUDYCY
DAMN! METAL IS SAVAGE!
You’ve out done yourself this is incredible!
