Most people are biased towards one brand or another, but I think they’re both great saws and you really can’t go wrong with either. It’s all about what you’re used to operating and where you can get it serviced at.
I run both and you can not go wrong with either saw. In my professional opinion a 32 inch bar or smaller is best for this size chainsaw.. if you want to run a 36 then buy a ms500i, ms661, 390xp or 395xp. Opening up the exhaust really wakes both up but they are 2 of the best chainsaws made by the top 2 companies. I put dual ports on the 572 and it runs and sounds mean! With that said both of these saws are for professionals and too much saw for the average home owner.
@@lucas2424mc it frees up a ton of power and sounds mean. Any chainsaw I buy I open up the exhaust because their airflow is overly restricted from the factory and run better more exhaust flow.
The Husky was cutting into the log behind it on the first cut which slowed it down. These saws are so close in comparison, the average person probably could tell them apart when it comes to power only ergonomics. Stihl has went more in the direction of Husqvarna than Husqvarna to Stihl in the last 10 years. With the 500i hitting the market, Stihl is braving the path forward at the moment with its technology. I had to file the rakers on my archer chain give a good hand filing before it would cut the way I like it. With any new chain I file the rakers out of the box. I like a chain to cut and the weight of the saw will pull it through the wood. Both nice saws but I run a 462 and it’s a beast

My 462 does get quite a bit more in the air box than you would expect with a sharp chain and the air injection. I don't know if something is off or not. I run my 2071 with a winter filter because there is basically nothing in the air box after 4-5 tanks versus the 462 that has fines all over the carb and built up in the pleats of the filter.
I really enjoy your videos and comparisons of chain saws. I’m not familiar with the bar your using. What would the weight savings/balance be on a Stihl MS440 with a standard 30” bar vs the bar like you are using? Thanks in advance!
Not a fair review at all. Muffler mods make a huge difference, weather you notice it or not. That husky would run circles around the stihl if not had a muffler mod. Also, you were cutting the log behind with the tip completely robbing the husky’s time making it look worse. Lucky you didn’t get a kick back.
I don’t think it would make a difference. Stock for stock the Stihl is just a bit faster. Coming from a Husky guy. I’d Still take the 572. There’s a lot of things it does better to make up for it.

In 5 years when the stihls on the bench torn apart because she popped all while the huskys out in the mountains still running strong let me know how happy you are then lol.
