Hey Buckin' - it sure is surreal to see you at my parents house and watch it all here on youtube. Thanks for all that you do, and the shout out definitely put a smile on my face! Shawn and I have been watching your videos for a few years now, we both like fixing up and running our saws, and your videos are chalk full of great advice! - Brian
Thanks for the shout out Buckin’. Love the channel, learned so much and the content is great. Keeping all the chainsaws in my collection and using them whenever I can really gives me something to look forward to while also providing wood for our camping trips and family. Keep up the good work. Thanks again. Shawn
Hello Sir. Thumb up - all the good hard work! Thanks for the tips, advice. I would like to work like you, but I had some health problems. And I am retired now. Have a beautiful, good, nice, super, funny day. Bye. Rudi from Slovenija - Europe.
Thanks Hey Buckin, I did it, I’m with a good company and now training to be a tree worker and arborist. And now mentally I’m so much better than when I was a bricklayer. And now I love going to work and working hard. Thanks @BuckinBillyRaySmith I’ve learned a few skills from chainsaw operation to chain sharpening, and even chainsaw tuning, so thanks brother
@@BuckinBillyRaySmith appreciate you bro, I would love to just spend a day with you and just leaning from you. I love the power saws. I’m even thinking getting a brand new 572xp. Well if you are ever in Australia 😂
I was a choker setter during the summers while going to college starting my first season logging in 1969. Worked on several sides from cat, high lead, and slack line with a raised spar all in old grow. This was all in Mount Hood National forest here in Oregon. Love your videos, brings back great memories of hard honest work. And, after all these years I still have my hard hat and boots just in case I get the call to go back ! 😊
Love the ad-hoc shout out to Mama's boys Brian and Shawn, you know those two lads are TOTALLY chuffed watching this vid and telling all their buddies about it, haha! That shows the character of a man, very cool...

Kind regards from Poland. Gotta do my bucking this Monday. A friend of mine just delivered some nice 8ft European beech logs for firewood. I still have to do some sharpening, but thanks to your videos I hope it goes all well.
Very informative , I just wanted to thank you for showing us how to sharpen a chain I was paying $7 to have one sharpened now I don’t have to. I live in the Midwest and I have a lot of hardwood to cut and my saw goes through them like butter. Thanks again!
Great time watching this video. I’m always learning stuff here and have three or so more logs to buck out of the bush myself. Your spirit is contagious. Heated my cabin and my neighbors with just a Stihl 271 and two mauls. And enough for next winter too already. Started a specialty smoker wood side hustle too. Thanks Buckin for all the tips.
Was setting chokers & ratting for cedar bolts after work on the Olympic Peninsula in the 80's. Goto saw back in those days was a 56 Mag Stihl. Began running a hammer exclusively thereafter as a carpenter.. I'm in Pennsylvania nowadays, retired. Hadn't picked up a chainsaw in a couple decades until a few years ago. I was kinda bored & figured firewood might be a lucrative hobby. Friends & family figured I had gone nutz when I bought my 572XP. Lol. It may be a bit much saw for what I do with it but damn, it is fun to run! Makes me feel like a kid again. Had the Husky into some 30' White Pine last weekend. That was the 572's first taste of respectively sized wood. It was 80° & sapfilled. The new saw's probably weighs half as much as my ol' 80's era 56. As much as I hate to admit it this old man today with the Husky could likely whip that lean mean version of his younger self running a big Stihl cord for cord. Just as fun today as it was then. I enjoy these videos.
Welcome to the new subscribers and a salute for the true blues…Nice work mate , neat little trick . The 572 is a rippin’ bit of kit . …love to all be kind …K Duff 🤛……😎👍🇦🇺
Another great video Buckin. I don't know anything about logging but i do enjoy watching you explain and showing the subscribers the kind of rigging you use in certain situations.
Man that saw chooches! Thanks for the great video and reinforcing the keys to happiness in life and work...slow down, think the job through, prepare...don't be afraid of a little hard work...and most importantly...BE KIND!
Another great video Buckin! Sharing all your forest wisdom to all of us aspiring woodsman! I also saw something extremely rare. Kinda like an albino fox, Buckin was briefly pinched - I now know he is human 😂
Great video, I really like all the rigging and seeing that truck showing people how it’s done. Show us how your tow loop is attached to the truck. It makes the truck look even cooler. Thanks Buckin,
Hello, bucking army, and hello Billy, I hope you all, including you, to Billy, are having a great day/ weekend so far. My day / weekend has been okay so far. i got a learners test on the 13th and my birthday on the 16th, the big 33, as well, so busy days coming up for me
@Buckin' Billy Ray Smith yeah hopefully it all works out this time so i can actually get a job. Because right now nobody will take me on because i don't drive, which is frustrating, but i get it fully, though. because skills, experience, tools, saws, axes, etc. got all that, just not my drivers otherwise id should be working already so fingers crossed.

@Buckin' Billy Ray Smith yes sir Buckin. You have helped me and a lot of people out from falling trees to sharpen power saws and to keep your equipment from being destroyed. Hey, you're a wise man for sharing your God-given skills.

I have a 1985 one owner Husqvarna 50 rancher that was my grandpa's saw and probably not a dozen hours. Straight bar and has a bow bar with the upper and lower aluminum safety bars. It is like new. Runs like new. Some say bow is dangerous and i can understand without the bar guards but with them doesn't seem any more unsafe than a straight bar. I like the bow actually. I have a stihl ms 291 farm boss with a 20" bar also. But whats your thoughts on the 50 rancher with bow bar?
I'm a farmer from the prairies. So I have a high value for a tree from a different perspective. We have disease and pests we need to deal with out here , but . Oh yes indeed
I have the original manual and reciept on the saw. Was just over $400 back then which was a lot of money back then.
