Hi Mick. Lovely video (as always) of 2 interesting, and not particularly easy, sessions. Some nice bass there. Bet they were tasty! Stay well. Cheers. Ken
Don't apologise for the quality of the picture due to weather, the content you share with us is excellent hence why I've followed and watched your channel for years.
@@rodsangleuk6283 You have learnt enough to read the water and to make your own deductions. Experience can easy trump "local lore". The results speak for themselves. 😊👍🎣
Thanks for sticking with it and posting another fine session (apart from weather!) The stamp of fish was maybe not intended species but quite lovely to see ! and taste great ☺️ . appreciate your effort as always 👍🏼🎣
Thanks for that - I've recently been back and caught turbot - not big and not too many; but target achieved and hopefully a video will follow in a few week time.
Good morning Michael Interesting venue I must admit the seclusion would appeal to me.. nice to see some bass , well done and very entertaining. Thank you and I hope your well. Regards.
Another great video Mick. The rough condition curtail the small eyed fishing, but your perseverance in the rougher conditions paid off for the bass. Like you said local knowledge is handy to have but its not a hard and fast rule. You must be a mare hardy angler than me. Now im in my mid sixties i have to have the comfort of my shelter😂😂
Yes - rays tend to prefer it calmer and I think it was too early in the year for them. I've never really got on with brollies and shelters, so mine tend to stay at home nowadays.
Hi Mick ... The venue screams fishing on the flood for maybe 3 hours and less on the ebb ... But three nice sizeable keeper bass on different sessions seem to show this to be the case ... Well done 😊🎉❤ ...
Thanks for that. I've been back and it seems to be productive for the first part of the flood and either side of high tide - but then again that might just be the time of year I'm fishing. Locals will know much better than me!
I Fish there as often as i can but mostly evening into night, last time i was there Saturday before last ,some real nice bass came out to a couple blokes who were fishing by the wooden groin to the left ,,ill be there sat coming if all goes well , tight line m8
When I used to fish there at high water I have caught nice bass too it fishes well for small eyed rays at low water beast I have found first hour of the flood well done bass for tea yum
The bass fishing can be truly awesome along Borth beaches ......it pays to visit them before your session ie on low tides so you can see the sunken forest ie snags ......and then sort your mark to fish .......early in year its bass .....but late summer small eyes .......and turbot ......but also there's a chance of a stingray......I fish it with flowing Trace and sand eel....Tracy about 4-5ft ...3/0 -4/0 long shank hooks or pennel ......another trick is don't go for the big chuck .....ie 3or4th breaker .......no more
No - its too much of a slog dragging it on the shingle. It's fine on compacted surfaces; but for Chesil, I think you'll need one of those expensive ones with those big air filled wheels.
Yes - probably later in the year though. I tend to find that bass prefer worm baits early in the season, then move on to crab and then fish baits later in the summer and autumn. However; there's always exceptions to this general 'rule of thumb'! Thanks for the suggestion John. Single worm on a size 4 hook seems to get me quite a few - I do lose quite a lot though if I'm filming and get distracted from playing the fish!

Thanks again Ken - yes, I kept the biggest.
YOUR VIDEOS ARE GREAT,MODERN DAY FILMING LIKE BEING TAKEN BACK TO THE LATE 70S
Thanks for that - the 70s were a great time - I had long hair, but wasn't sea fishing much then!

Many thanks for that.
Great couple of sessions with some lovely silvery bass. Paid off defying the local knowledge this time. 👍🎣🐟
Sometimes it helps, if you don't 'go with the flow'! However, its always great to have some local insights.

When I used to fish there at high water I have caught nice bass too it fishes well for small eyed rays at low water beast I have found first hour of the flood well done bass for tea yum
Thanks Peter - still haven't caught a small eyed there, but will be back to try again.

Thanks - great advice there. I've been back and fished at low water with some success - no small eyed, nor stingrays though!
Great video again 👏 I have a question for you do you use your trolley on chesil 👍👍
No - its too much of a slog dragging it on the shingle. It's fine on compacted surfaces; but for Chesil, I think you'll need one of those expensive ones with those big air filled wheels.
Wessex rig , 6/0 3/0 pennel on the running ledger with big mackerel or squid bait , 3/0 top snood with big lug bait , 20 -30 yards out can be deadly .

@@rodsangleuk6283 Yep , one hook flapper .
It looks very bassy ?
Yes - the surf screams bass!
