Say what you want, but the guy worked his ass off for every thing he got. People appreciate talent. People RESPECT hard work and hustle. He will always be one of my favorite athletes. Not just basketball player, but athletes.
Here's the problem with Rodman. He was one of the best defensive players to ever play the game. His job wasn't to put up stats, it was to make sure the other players didn't get to up THEIR stats.
More like 28 minutes per game. But still nearly 12 boards coming off the bench half the time. The next season on the mavs he averaged 14.3 at 38 yrs old. Pretty damn good! 😀
Basketball's Best I think the most amazing thing about it all is that he was 6'7". I never got to see him play but seeing him put up those numbers at that height with all the bigs of the era tells you everything you need to know about his hustle.
No one ever said that Dennis didn't deserve all the fame as a player .His abilities are worldwide recognized .Actually he was a great player .An NBA champion already with Pistons before Bulls .Best rebounder and defender in NBA .He deseeves all the respect .All the coaches said that he was the most important player in team .
He blew up the 4 factor stat of offensive rebounds and should've been finals mvp vs sonics when he set the oreb record at 11. For a guy whose usage rate was around 11 he was a major contributor in 5 championship runs for 2 teams with a positive per of 14. Dpoy 2x to add to 7-8 rebound titles. The Dr. Of rebounds was the JANITOR CLEANING UP OTHERS MISSES. SPECIAL PLAYER , ANOMALY , OUTLIER . WINNER.
Awesome video and series, keep it going man! I also think The Worm is quite highly underrated because he wasn't actually flashy in offense and was somewhat 'a dirty player' through his career. But the amount of rebounds he was able to catch even though there were many dominant and big centers around who were like a head taller than him is something nearly unbelievable. Rodman was around 6'7" or 6'8" and managed to grab 15+ rebounds per game for almost a decade is something else! I also completely agree with your choice for the best season to be 91-92 because he avareged his highest rebound average along with a very high, atleast for Rodman himself, point average. As you said Rodman never was anything else than 'a role player', probably one of the best role players of all time at that, and thus it's easy to pick his individually best season to be the best of his career over the championship or DPOY seasons.
Zappa86 thanks for the support for the series. It's crazy how basically by chance an aggressive player like Rodman ended up on that "Bad Boys" Pistons team. They helped him grow overall and as a rebounder until hitting his peak that season. The truly impressive part is how he was able to maintain that high level. It's funny how the Pistons rivaled Jordan and the bulls in the late 80's when Rodman joined the team but it was the Pistons who shaped Rodman in to a player that helped the Bulls win the 2nd Three-peat.
Zappa86 thanks for your saying. You're right he is underrated, because the Worm overated The Great White Hope, because he is white, then he averaged 18 rebounds per game, 1 season, but in 1993, Rodman is sad because they not bad boys anymore.
I loved when Rodman went with number 91. Nobody ever takes numbers that high I absolutely love Rodman. People think he was a nut and a distraction but he was actually a guy who wanted to win so bad that he payed with extreme fire and passion and every once in a while that passion got away from him. They say nobody wanted to win more then Jordan. I’d say definitely one player did. Rodman.
Hey great video once again, some feedback, i would work on the entrance of your videos maybe a better theme song or first image that pops up. But great info throughout the video
It's a crime he's been selected All-Star twice For a rebounding champion(s) NBA champion(s) best defensive specialist i ever watch as a youngster. A complete.......whatever you want to describe him as. (Hustler)
He said in his book "Bad as I wanna be" that he chose the number 91 since 9 and 1 added to 10 and what are the first two numbers you dial in case there is an emergency?
The worm is one of a kind, no question, for me he's the best NBA player. The way he play the attitude the mind, focus only for winning and willing to sacrifice his self. Rodman is one of the Greatest in NBA.
There's many including George Karl that say in the 96 Finals Rodman should've been the MVP. There's a video on UA-cam that shows him dominating a stretch of one of the game's without scoring. It's pretty fascinating. I guess statistically I can't argue with the year you choose, but I feel like 96 was his true peak with expanded basketball IQ, passing, rebounds and mind games.
his prime was on Pistons 91/92 in his stats but in 96, he should be finals Mvp and was a really role player defending often against the centers such as Shaq vs Orlando in playoffs with an impact in the games not in the stat lines.
You clearly have no idea what you are talking about, his best year was with the bulls when he hit his career high in assists. That is when he was the best version of himself. He was the same old pesky defender, and the same old rebounder and now a master of mind games and his hustling and passion at an all time high, he was highly motivated after being rejected by the Spurs and finding out that no one in the league wanted him, he had a big chip on his shoulder and a lot to prove. Phil was a genius to exploit that where no one else dared... But now, he was also a great passer on an already great passing team in a great triangle offense system. This was his best year and the best version of Rodman that we ever saw in the NBA. He was really well seasoned at this point and was super intelligent, his IQ in this season and the bulls years was off the charts. It is sad that you also neglect to even address this part of his game. And athletically he hadn't really lost anything, he was an absolute beast of an athlete. One the best of all time. His middle season with the Bulls was his best with the Bulls and in his career. And his second and third best were also with the Bulls. He was just a superior animal at that point. All that experience mixed with his freakish hustle, toughness and heart and IQ, was something special. He is easily the NBAs best ever defensive/rebounding role player. Nobody has ever embraced that role to the same extent as Rodman.
Is a say numbers don't lie , the guy hold best rebounder title of the league for 7 consecutive years , man that is something when you have centers like Robinson Malone the Dream shaq mutombo Patrick mourning etc etc
2 teams play...5 on 5....10 greatest players ever...either team would rather have this guy as the fifth member because he would be the difference in winning or losing...REAL VALUE
THE GREATEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF ALL TIME, PERIOD !!!!. Defended all positions, physical and mental aspect of the game. And should've won the FINALS MVP of the 1996 NBA Finals, no disrespect to His Airness M.Jordan.. No one comes closer..
Actually his 34 Reb game. only helped .. a a tenth of a point..... All u are doing is reciting numbers off nba reference.. zero insight. His field goal pct ppg are irrelevant. He never tried to do either... As for assists more meaningless. He is one of the smartest great passer at his position
Greatest hustle player of all time
Say what you want, but the guy worked his ass off for every thing he got. People appreciate talent. People RESPECT hard work and hustle. He will always be one of my favorite athletes. Not just basketball player, but athletes.

5 teams and 5 rings = 10 rodman style 😅
On the Lakers, he averaged 11 rpg on like 15 mpg.
That's crazy.
Yeah
More like 28 minutes per game. But still nearly 12 boards coming off the bench half the time. The next season on the mavs he averaged 14.3 at 38 yrs old. Pretty damn good! 😀
He had 70 on the mavs because 69 wasn't allowed. No joke
Yep
LiAngelo Ball can wear 69
Is this really true? If so, Hilarious.
6 + 9 = 15
I thought he wore 70 because the number 7 tilted slightly to the left would look like the number 1, so it would still be 10. 😂
The essence of intangibles except rebounding he was freaking awesome At rebounding probably the best rebounding power forward of all time of all time
Probably one of the best rebounders of all time period.
Basketball's Best I think the most amazing thing about it all is that he was 6'7". I never got to see him play but seeing him put up those numbers at that height with all the bigs of the era tells you everything you need to know about his hustle.
1991-92 is really the best in rebounds, with 18.0
You are absolutely right. Denis IS a big star in the game we love and is the one I miss the most. Hail to th king!
Rodman is a genius of
this game.....
I use him in every game I play I was there for the 90s and up . I loved his style and the hard work he put in. The only man I know that shut down shaq
KOFFIN nails Yao
At 6’6 or 6’7 he can do all that amazing things, anddd it is the era of the big men and physicality, what a great player ❤️

Man , he was dominant. For his size in the years when bigs dominated, and half the teams had great centers and PF's. Impressive.
While every NBA stars are touring around the world to teach Basketball. Dennis is in North Korea watching a game with Kim Jong Un, now that is legend.
91 because of defensive player of the year
No because 9 + 1 is 10
I loved when Rodman went with number 91. Nobody ever takes numbers that high

Rodman.
You're on point! I'm from the D watch every game back then!
Greatest player of the bad boy style. He adapts himself extremely well in any teams and any other super stars.
Hey great video once again, some feedback, i would work on the entrance of your videos maybe a better theme song or first image that pops up. But great info throughout the video
Frickin Tarantino right here!
Rodman & Thomas should have been in the dream team.
It's a crime he's been selected All-Star twice For a rebounding champion(s) NBA champion(s) best defensive specialist i ever watch as a youngster. A complete.......whatever you want to describe him as. (Hustler)
Also 8x 1st team all defense and 2x all nba
He said in his book "Bad as I wanna be" that he chose the number 91 since 9 and 1 added to 10 and what are the first two numbers you dial in case there is an emergency?
he got a technical for sitting down😂😂
Like some lefty on CNN said the way that kid from Covington High School in KY, stood in front of the whacko beating his drum, was "threatening."
Please do one for Dirk Nowitzki.
Not retired yet Niczer0, we have to wait.
No way, he's not retire
Probably gonna be 2007
Jason Kidd deserves a video!!!. His 2nd season plus the Nets season when he came in 2nd for MVP
The worm is one of a kind, no question, for me he's the best NBA player. The way he play the attitude the mind, focus only for winning and willing to sacrifice his self. Rodman is one of the Greatest in NBA.

NBA greats, for sure.
Is a say numbers don't lie , the guy hold best rebounder title of the league for 7 consecutive years , man that is something when you have centers like Robinson Malone the Dream shaq mutombo Patrick mourning etc etc
Dennis is a hero.
that song tho. what is it? i must know!
In the 1994-95 season I thought he would say Rodman only played 49 games because of his different colored hair (Yellow)
Awesome video!!!! #ActuallyBasketball'sBest
Sorry I mean #ActuallyBasketballsBest
Sorry I mean #ActuallyBasketballsBest
You're too kind Desiree.
Basketball's Best thanks 👍
Desiree Langel u
When he was at Lakers he got 15 to 23 rebounds a game if he was there
Does anybody know the song?
Is this the company man?
Honestly I'd put 96 up there, mostly cos he arguably deserved finals MVP that year. Idk that puts it over the edge for me.
2 teams play...5 on 5....10 greatest players ever...either team would rather have this guy as the fifth member because he would be the difference in winning or losing...REAL VALUE
rodman is the best rebounder of all time
In the way that I agree that Barkley deserved the 92-93 mvp, I think Rodman deserved the 95-96 mvp.
I.T. said that Bird statement not Rodman!!!
Rodman changed opposing teams entire approach of how they had to play. That can't really be shown in stats.
Dennis was suppose to play to for the nuggets in 2003 but he had a horrible crash
The great One Eight{his best season}. Rings belong to the team but those 18 rebounds belong to Rodman{give me that!!!}
1996 was BY FAR is best season, and it can be argued he son the title for the Bulls; over MJ
You should do Wilt Chamberlain best season
Andrew Cardenas yes...
90 and 92, but all years according to me
Haven't watch the video yet but I predicted his best season will be 90-91
11.2 rebounds wasn’t impressive?!
GOTO 🔥🔥
My best player "the worm"
Dennis Rodman
Rodman won them the 96 champ
big facts
Should have got the finals MVP the way he guarded Kemp
91-92
Don care wat people said about rodman..... He is the only person in nba who shoot 3 point and the audience will scream whoo hoo WTH🤣🤣🤣
Rodman was trying to wear 69
I would love to see Rodman and Draymond Green matchup. I know Rodman would get the better of him but it would be amazing
👍👍🏀
1996 was his best year (AND he should have won the Finals MVP)
'96 Finals:
Rodman = 7.5 ppg (.486 fg%, .579 ft%), 14.7 rpg, 2.5 apg, 0.8 spg, 0.2 bpg
Jordan = 27.3 ppg (.415 fg%, .836 ft%), 5.3 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.7 spg, 0.2 bpg
@@ArrakisOCE Not on Shawn Kemp. MJ played great defense as well.
I think Drummond could get around 17 rpg
