@@CourtCloud For a 7 Footer I would even say he was lightning fast in his early days compared to all the other tall guys. And when he was young he could jump through the roof. Just ask Rick Pitino who worked him out before the Draft. Dirk just decided to not play above the rim, which clearly prolonged his career. And he never was a good blocker (not because he couldnt jump) but because he never had the right feel and timing on the defensive end. But believe me, when he was young, he was way more athletic than people give him credit for. But there was one weakness he always had: he never had good lateral speed.. even in his younger days.

I feel that Dirk was quite athletic and a great dunker in his younger playing days, and as he got older he adapted his playing style accordingly. Which ... speaks volumes of his longevity.

Also reminds me of Arvydas Sabonis, whom NBA fans saw play well past his physical prime, but was nevertheless an outstanding center with surreal passing & shooting skills.

Thanks for sharing bruv. Never knew they were 2 games up in 06 against the heat. Men! That was mad fuel for 2011. Looking at the line up, they had no hope against the 2011 heat who cud have beat Dirk n done a 3 peat. But dirk cut it short to 2 peat, cos 2011 was revenge for 06. So no matter what, he was going to beat them this time, & I'm indeed happy for him. That he accomplished his mission eventually. Whilst White Chocolate of the heat got his one n only ring in 06. Dirk had to come back n get his 1st n only ring in 2011. Proud of him men!!!!

Dirk‘s fadeway was an incredibly athletic skill. Not to mention all the fast pace offense you show while introducing the „NBA‘s Most Unathletic Player“.
And today a lot of the greatest players use the one-legged fadeaway in some games. look at durant for example. using it a lot. so proud of my fellow german. nowitzki is with michael schumacher the greatest german athlete of all time. as a die hard celtics fan i would never ever wear some others teams merch besides nowitzki jerseys.
