Nice watches but after all the things Rolex has done over the years, wait lists have to buy other watches to get what you want, etc, I'm never buying a Rolex
You are confusing Rolex the brand and watch with their independent authorized dealer network. My AD has been absolutely fantastic over the last 5 years, and does not play any of these games. If your AD is jerking you around, then find one who does not, but that is your local jewelry store that sells Rolex, not Rolex itself.

@@Portland_Living_Life To me they are one in the same. No slight against AD's, they have to do what is best for them but much like a car dealership of a Specific brand does something to harm the brand, the brand will suffer. Rolex needs to do something about that, and they probably won't.
You could not give me a Rolex. I rather Buy an Oris if I wanted a new Diver. I rather go Cartier for a Luxury Watch. I rather Panerai or Grand Seiko or Hamilton for a Dress watch.

He just likes being on camera to be comical, instead of informative and the price drops of the rolexs haven't been more than $300 -500 u s dollars.

Wear it mate. The other part of having a watch is to wear and bond with it. I understand the feeling of making an expensive purchase and the concern of getting it scratched and etc. Liberate yourself. You born it and deserve nothing less to wear it. If it gets scratch, so be it. Most watch on resale will be better being unpolished anyway. Just my thoughts. Enjoy you watch 😊

@@racebannon2332 I bought a Black Bay 36 two years ago to see how I would handle knocking around that watch with its polished bezel and I handled it ok. Then I got a rail master with the grey/brown dial as the next step and I absolutely love it since it’s all brushed and seemingly impervious to scratches. But the Explorer is something I’ve wanted for 20 years and now I have it and I want to wear it and I have, but it’s so perfect. I’m sure I will get over babying it soon enough.
@@entlifesutanto I’m sure I’ll get there, I’ve never had this thou with any of my Tudor’s or Omega’s. This watch has been a long time coming and I hope to enjoy it for a long time to come. But for now baby steps.

Love your channel, maybe it's different in Europe or Europe or Europe. But in America, the air king 2023 is selling for around $9500 and retail a 7400. I'm looking at them and just bought one now
Good to know the prices are stabilising. But more context into the watch conditions will be nicer. Are the prices referring to new, used or unworn pieces? AD or grey market? Online only or store? Those are some details that usually get missed in most of the price updates.
It will be interesting to see what happens when their new factory comes on stream.

Call me a posh yobbo, but I love the Explorer II as I am a tall chap and it fits me well. It’s my guilty pleasure, as it does not scream mafia don, nor does it insinuate dullness of ditch water. A valid diss it may be, but when a tech bro rattles a batgirl we all still tend to laugh.
Explorer 2 is the last proper tool watch made by Rolex. Deep sea is also a hell of a watch. The rest...more jewellery than a watch.

Andrew, I’d like to know your feelings about Jacob&Co. watches. Some of them are looking good but are they really functional?
Are they horological masterpieces or they just got looks and expensive materials?
I knew this would be fun when I saw the words Rolex and bargain in the same sentence....I mean now you can't say 'I paid way over list to get a watch that millions of people have but you can't'. Takes the fun right out of it.

Think I will wait until 2024 there is an obvious trend of the downward type on ROLEX watch prices and it’s about time. No more waiting for the AD phone call but I feel that may also change, if you can pick them up grey market at list or just below. Nice! 😁

Attended Bonham's watch auction on 22/11/23. Rolex watches were NOT selling. The bidding was super slow. How times change! Cartier were very popular.
And my money goes to Breitling Navitimer 36mm or Zenith Defy Classic. My Explorer is just business-grill time watch 😁

The only one I wanted was the only rolex that made me feel anything besides "this watch will keep it's value better than your brand X watch" was the OP celebration.
But since flippers decided this was going to be the next one it's unavailable and now thiefs have seen the grey market price I wouldn't even wear it in public if I could get one retail. So that's a bummer.
My next Rolex is probably going to be a Tudor pelagos.
I like the Yachtmaster and strangely the Air King…and yet there are so many other interesting options for these discounted prices…

I was going to get a panda daytona but after really thinking about it id be getting it for all the wrong reasons. Sure i've always like it but now it feels like it would be a "flex" so im going to grab a Vacheron Constantine Patrimony or 1921 instead. The more I pay attention to Rolex these days the more I become bored AF.

Has Tudor shaken the reputation of being the lesser Rolex one gets cuz you can't afford the "real thing"?
It seems Rolex did this to themselves marketing Tudors as Rolexes on the outside and non-Rolexes on the insides in the old days,
People don’t get Tudors because they can’t afford a Rolex. They get them because Rolex watches are unavailable. Collectors and aficionados have grown weary of the games Rolex plays with customers.
