Not to take away anything from the great quality seen in Country Coaches, I am compelled to throw out a bit of a correction. Monocoque and Semi-monocoque construction comes from the aerospace and motor racing worlds, and what we see in CCs is a bit different from how those two worlds exhibit those forms of construction. Monocoque construction would utilize formed sheet metal panels bonded, welded or rivetted together to form the stressed areas of the chassis. Semi-monocoque would use tubes welded together (generally) with sheet metal bonded or rivetted to the tubes to provide strength as stressed members. Take a look at 60's and 70's Formula One or Indy cars as examples of both.
CCs appear to be "spaceframe" constructed with the tubular structure arranged to manage the stress forces placed on the chassis in a similar manner to bridge construction. This is also a very robust form of construction, and an effective way to spread the loads on the chassis. However, it is without the "skin" of attached panels being a truly stressed part of the frame. NASCAR racers still primarily rely on this form of construction, with bodywork hung on the tube frames.
Please know that I think that CCs, Newels and Prevost chassis are clearly superior to the production coaches that use a Freightliner or Spartan frame. However, it is not fully accurate to call them "semi-monocoque" unless they permanently use their aluminum or composite panels as stress bearing.
Blah, blah, and blah. Sorry for the long comment, but Andrew's videos provide a great and needed amount of information to the RV buying public. It should be as accurate as it can be. You engineers out there can provide whatever correction you feel compelled to do.
    TC

The cabinetry and finish work in these coaches are better than my house! It’s insane that these cabinets are better quality than my actual home I bought brand new! It’s what has made me decided on a Country Coach for my next “house.” Damon and Louis have really helped me in my discovery process. I’ve spoken with them over the phone and they’re great guys. They’re for real and I believe they’re trustworthy.

A very interesting and informative video. Louis is definitely proud of Country Coach and with good reason. It’s fascinating to see that we’re back at the very place these motorhomes were built and the facility still looks fantastic. Pride in your work means a lot and you both share this as it comes through your videos to entice people. I’d be proud to own such an vehicle ⭐️💕💫

If I remember right there was a CC down in Mexico that rolled the coach on its side after the driver ran off the high crown two lane road. They picked the coach back up on its wheels got it back up on the road, they then drove it back to factory for repairs. try that with something other than a Country Coach, good Luck with that. They are really safe coaches.

So good! One thing that Ive learned with mine. The paint is so thick. I spent a lot of time buffing it out and the paint looks amazing now but I made the mistake of half hazardly using a blade tool to take off a previous dealer sticker. I never got to the metal and I dug in way too much at spots...thick paint.. Also, I have a 98 Magna, I find it interesting that when my slide is out i dont have leveling jacks which is so cool...most coaches i see at parks you have to put out leveling jacks. And my coach is nearly 25 years old.

Some of these Magna remind me of the later model Foretravels. Beautiful coaches both lines. These ForeTravels have a very safe body build too and total HWH systems in those too. Love these big coaches.

Great video Andrew. I agree that CC were extremely well designed and built but I also think that the Monaco higher end lines and models were very close in design and quality. They had a custom semi monocoque chassis with steel frame, independent front suspension, 10 air bags and shocks, one piece seamless fiberglass roof, similar thick roof/ceiling and walls, and extremely high quality cabinetry and woodwork. All hardwood. Slides were also flat floor. They were built in Oregon, next door to CC. Many of the former Monaco employees work at Premier. I know Premier sells a fair amount of Monaco’s and like CC, there remains a huge loyal following of the Monaco brand. It would be awesome if they maybe talked about the Monaco build sometime, otherwise it appears as though they only want to sell and/or buy CC motor coaches, which might pigeon hole them into a limited inventory and potential sales market. Like I said, I love CC but if you can’t tell, I own a 2007 Monaco Holiday Rambler Navigator 45’ built during the sweet build years. Glad to see you doing some fun videos in Oregon. Take care!

I’m selling my home and I plan to buy a CC to live in for a few years anyway. So many factors have caused me to settle on a CC. Now I just have to decided which 40’ model and color/features! LOL

The pride in his product shows in his enthusiasm. The quality product that they put out is a real credit to their company. Its a shame this company got caught up in the financial mess. Quality endures and you see it in how well these coaches have held up over the years. You won't find much cheap fiberglass junk that other manufacturers produced still on the road like these Country Coaches are! I applaud every employee that worked at that company for the fine product they produced. Thats what America was about. Now everything seems to be junk that does not endure.

Interesting comment…been studying the industry and manufacturers for several years…my conclusion is Country Coach dollar for dollar is high value for the money…my issue is who will service this because I’m in the SE…Brad is 8 hours away with CC experienced people. The other two manufacturers that I think are also built well are foretravels and Newell’s…my top 3
