Man, these omnibusses are so usefull. I have wanted to get into comics for years. It was always just a little intimidating figuring out what to get, but with the recent Spider-Man game I finally decided to go for it. Venom has always been the most interesting Marvel character to me ever since I was a kid. Love his design, love the concept behind symbiotes. So I have decided to follow his stuff. Just picked up the Spider-Man vs Venom omnibus, and this one. Really glad I can just pick these up. Makes things a lot easier.
They are a great addition to everyone's library. There is a Venomibus volume 2 coming out early next year too.

I ended up collecting most of this omni in tpb only missing a select few issues. but was able to collect all of the 2nd omni in tpb. got to love the collected editions and epics.

I have all of the issues in this as single issues or in paperbacks, but decided to get this omni. A Venom Omni? I'm all over it.
Ugh, I want this, but I have all the issues already. I have everything from when Venom first appeared to somewhere around when he was in dark avengers, but collected volumes are so much easier to read!

Great overview. I remember a lot of the early Spider stuff with McFarlane and Larson pencilled before they moved to Image. Venom was a great character but for me after his first defeat he kind of lost his lustre. A badass costume, but letting a church bell take out a space organism felt a little weak to me. It's weird you mentioned Bruce Jones because I was always wanted to re read his hulk run and wasn't sure if there was anything out there I could buy?
Yeah his Hulk run was a different take on the character, almost like the tv series with Bill Bixby.

Near Mint Condition i recommend Doom 2099 & punisher 2099 but i believe the volumes are only collected in trade paperbacks

I just ordered David Mich and Mcfarlane Omnibus, Im trying to get the most out of black suit spider, Venom and Carnage, so I got some questions that I think you can answer in order to help me:
- Can I consider David Mich and Mcfarlane Omnibus the starting point?
- what do I have to buy next? Venomnibus?
- What´s the order? David Mich and Mcfarlane Omnibus, Venomnibus vol.1 and 2 and then Carnage omnibus?
- Can I skip Spiderman vs Venom omnibus, or there are any considerasse amount of issues not printed in the other omnibus?

1) Yes you totally can start there.
2) The second is the Michelinie/Larsen omnibus. The third would be the Spider-man Vs. Venom Omnibus
3) Venomnibus and Carnage are just collections of those two characters and their mini series. I did an overview of the Venomnibus in a previous episode if you want to check that out. Carnage has only his mini series and ongoing too that centers around mid 2000s to 2015.
4) The only reason to get that is to get the Carnage beginning stories and it also collects the Maximium Carnage crossover event.

The Michelinie/Larsen omnibus has a continuity to the Michelinie/Mcfarlane? Sorry for the question, but something that really bothers me and I really dont want to have is the same issues on 1 or 2 or 3 omnibus...
The Michelinie/Mcfarlane omni collects: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (1963) 296-329 and material from SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL 10 and the Michelinie/Larsen omni collects: MAZING SPIDER-MAN (1963) 287, 324, 327, 329-350; SPIDER-MAN (1990) 15, 18, 21-23; AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (1999) 19-21; MATERIAL FROM MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS (1988) 48-50, SPIDER-MAN (1990) 19-20 So it collects three issues previously collected in the Mcfarlane one.

I had that same type of printing error in my Superman: The Exile Omnibus. Luckily it only affected the table of contents and didn't affect any story pages.
Its usually in the back or front.
Hey Omar! Great review! I was curious about something: Do you think any of these releases will include the one shot story in which Batman and Spider-Man team up to take down the Joker and Carnage?
Omar! Do you recommend geting the ASM omnibus (David Micheline, Mcfarline)? Worth it? It's $90 right now on Amazon. Or should I just wait for the Spider-Man vs Venom?
I absolutely recommend the ASM Michelline and Mcfarlane omnibus. Completely worth it and glad that Marvel decided to reprint it. The book on the left side is that omnibus (That's the Direct Market version first printing) on the right is the Micheline Larsen omnibus.
Just in case you missed Omar mentioning it in the video, the ASM by Michelline/McFarlane omnibus will be reprinted, just hold off on buying it for $90.
I wouldn't pay the $90. That's a reduced pre-order price. I'd wait until the actual release day. You should be able to get it for around $50.

Omar do you reckon Spiderman vs Venom omnibus republished soon? Do you know any omnibus where in first appearance of venom in Omnibus or cameo?
It came out in 2018 and out of print in early 2020. I'm not sure if they will reprint it. The omnibus in the left hand side of the omnibus has the Venom first and early appearances.

Wow, random but i have that same knife, what is it called? I thought i just got lucky because my wife had it laying around and i thought it was perfect for opening up my Omnis lol, but i guess it’s a good tool to have with this hobby
I like how the omni called Spidey VS Venom is the one that has Maximum Carnage which is a story where they team up.
Such a dumb move on Marvel's part, but I'll be picking up that damn omni, because of that story!

It really depends on what you want to see more. If you want more Solo Venom stories just get the Venom one. However if you wanna see both Spidey and Venom in stories then the Spidey vs Venom omnibus is the way to go.
I will say pick up the Michelini Mcfarlane omnibus that introduces you to Venom and then Spidey vs. Venom.

Hi, this was a great video, But I have a question and looking for some help, alright so Im about to buy "spider man the complete alien costume book 1 and and 2" after that I have no idea what to get next. Should I get the "spider man vs venom trade paperback? Or get the Venom vs spider man Omnibus ? Also whats the ASM omnibus (David Micheline, Mcfarline all about ? is that a better way to go? I mostly just want The first time spider man had the alien costume, to the first venom encounter, to everything leading up maximum carnage since i already have that story on trade, , If im not mistaking the Venom Omnibus is post maximum carnage, so its not really an interest of me at the time, Thank you forthe help!
If you want to go in sequential order to follow the story of Venom here is my suggested reading order after the two Alien Costume saga books: ASM omnibus by Micheline and Mcfarlane (introduces you to Eddie Brock as Venom), ASM omnibus by Micheline and Erik Larsen (continuing the story of Spider-man were the last omni left us and more Venom appearances) and then the Venom Vs. Spider-man omni coming out where it contains the Maximum Carnage crossover as well as other issues of Spider-man...however that one double dips a bit with the previous omnis I mentioned. You could get the epic collections that are coming out as well. The latest is this book right here:

I've had the same printing error with another omnibus but it was just a few pages.
This is my first omnibus in the 14 years I've been collecting them that I've seen this kind of error on it. I've had TPBs and even one hard cover that this showed up on. Thanks for letting me know about yours though.
Was that Iron Man / Venom chapter that included New Warriors ever collected anywhere???? I vaguely remember something involving them as part of the Marvel trading cards.

Was the scan quality of the Lethal Protector art improved on? since there are several blurry/poorly-scanned pages on the TPB

I think it adds so much more to the story as it's a continuation of that story that started in Amazing 300.

I believe it's a flashback scene. All of LP was done by Bagley.
if i wanted a complete comic set for venom, which omnibuses do i buy? venomnibus 1 and 2? seems like marvel just keeps releasing different versions of the same product.... i would love to just be able to buy them all but I'm not rich and it seems extremely redundant if the same issues appear in 4 different omnis. please help!
I would start with the David Michelinie/Mcfarlane omnibus then the Erik Larsen Omnibus then the Venomonibus. That's my suggestion.

This has different material as the Venom miniseries. But I would get the McFarlane one if I were you.
Is Venom Omnibus Volume 2 the final volume or is there still more?
Venomibus volume 2 has been the only one solicited. But they have enough miniseries and ongoing series: (IE) Cullen Bunn's, Daniel Way's and Remender's Flash Thompson Venom to fill up two more omnis.

I would read the Spider-man vs. Venom omnibus as it contains the first appearance of Carnage and Maximum Carnage.
