Closing theme for "As the World Turns"

- This is my rendition of the closing theme for "As the World Turns". The late Charles Paul, who composed this theme was a prolific organist and musical director on many old time radio show and television soap operas.
I can remember hearing that theme when I was a little kid. My mom watched As The World Turns everyday.
Something was losed when the serials went to orchestrated music and discontinued the organ because of disagreements with the music unions.There was mothing like the organ to set the mood and keep you on the edge of your seats.
Lance thankyou for bringing back so many memories that we will never have again.

Just perfect! This reminds me so much of my grandmother who watched ATWT in the early 60's. Before I started school, I'd watch with her. She'd often get annoyed with what the characters were up to (esp. Lisa) and yell at the TV. I think this was one of the best soap themes ever and you played it perfectly.

WOW that is a fantastic reproduction of the real thing!! All that's missing is the announcer saying "Stay tuned for Guiding Light, coming up next, over most of these CBS stations"... gave me CHILLS thinking about how very very close to the original this is - great job Lance!!

My mom had nine children to raise but never missed her favorite show as the world turns. The song is very soothing and brings back a flood of memories of my mom. Thanks for posting this.

Wow, Lance, this just stirs my heart. This has to be my favorite soap theme of all time. As I listen, I can see Nancy and Chris Hughes, Granpa Hughes, Lisa & Bob, Ellen & David Stewart, Judge Lowell, Alma Miller, Claire Lowell Cassen, and all the other familiar faces of ATWT from the 60s and early 70s. What a beautiful theme, and how talented you are! Bless you for sharing this. And thank you.

Great version of the original As the word tuns theme I am 43 and can sort of remember hearing this theme when I was little boy this the theme that was used on as the world turns most of the years my grandma watched As the world and she watched it for nearly 38 years from 1956 til her death in 1994.@@LanceJacksonOrgnplyr

Possibly the best version I've ever heard of this wonderful TV theme, right down to the final note, which is often left out. Great job!

As a fan of many, many years of AS WORLD TURNS, I cannot thank you enough for trip down memory lane with this performance of the show's original theme. The organ music is far better than the orchestra-type of music which was pre-recorded and used after 1972. You are amazing.!!!! :))

NEVER in my life have I heard an exact remake of this theme..absolutely dead on..it was like I was hearing Charles Paul and "and now As The World Turns..As The World Turns is brought to you by.." can't remember the product, but it was Procter & Gamble (Tide) maybe, but that was always for the The Edge of Night..wow..how beautiful was that..thanks Lance from me who miss the old school soaps and their great theme songs!

Just recently found out what FADA stood for; the company's founder's initials, Francis Anthony D'Angelo. He and his firm had manufactured radios and parts since the earliest days. I think his factory was in Brooklyn.

I remember this theme as a little kid while watching it on CBS until they switched to orchestral music in 1973 and Dan McCullough announcing "As The Whirrrld Turns" This is your best work of the organ/piano tune used in the show from 1956-1973

I've gone back to listen to this clip over and over. You've created a real tribute to the musicians who played the daytime soaps and game shows day after day, year after year, in the era of "live" TV and radio. Your work deserves all the compliments you've received and more.

As the world turns should have kept this theme till 2010 referring to the 1973 orchestral theme.
I agree the themes which came in 1981 and lasted I believe until 1993 was there last good theme, but this theme and the orchestra version is tops.

I found a couple other soap opera themes you did as well, and again, a brilliant performance. Do you play by ear or use sheet music, or a little of both?. Have you tried other themes or have you concentrated on vintage soaps?...

1956-1973 on piano and organ then with an orchestra 1973-1981.
