Good GOD, the memories this brings back are all GOOD ONES! My mother and her mother watching these soaps together while doing their ironing and household chores... takes me back to much lovelier and more wholesome times!
Taubman’s actual theme had a few variations in either note or phrase between 1956 and 1967, when it settled down into that final definitive theme you demonstrated. That version, and the orchestral version which began in ‘73-‘74, were both hauntingly beautiful. You played Paul’s piece almost to perfection. Thank you…
Loved this soap... Hated when they went to 4:00 p.m., I got out of school at 2:15 p.m., catch the bus home with my sisters..... arrived just in time to watch my favorite soap opera
IS THIS RAVEN!?!?? the REAL Raven from EON!?!?? if so, WOW! I LOVED EON all the years you were on there, you and Lois Kibbee MADE that show the irresistible masterpiece of soaps it became!
Stay tuned for Match Game 75, which follows on most of these CBS stations.... This is Hal Simms...inviting you to join us each weekday afternoon foooor Theeee Edddgggggge of Night!!!! Excellent job on this theme!
Thanks Lance - BEAUTIFULLY DONE AND REMEMBERED. My Mom is 100 today and watched this soap faithfully. We all had to shut up when this theme came on every afternoon!!
Sir, you are absolutely awesome with your perfection of soap theme music. Sounds just like the good old days of soap operas. You are very, very talented and your performance is outstanding. Thanks for putting these up!

"This portion of 'THE EDGE OF NIGHT' was brought to you by CREST- accepted by the AMERICAN DENTAL ASSOCIATION! 'Fighting cavities is the whole idea behind Crest'." "This is Barry Grauman, inviting you to join us on MONDAY for-- 'THE EDGE OF NIGHT'."
This is pure TV magic!!!Reminds me of my days of growing up in "The Cincy Soap Hood" when I had neighbors who worked in the Cincinnati office at PGP (short for Proctor and Gamble Productions).
Thank-you from the bottom of my heart for bringing back the memory of watching THE EDGE OF NIGHT with my Grandmother - listening to this choked me up. I loved this Theme Music. You are amazing!
Yes! You are exactly correct. CBS was feeding affiliates who needed it Gomer Pyle at 4:00, 3:00 Central for several years when Edge ran just prior at 2:30/1:30.
Excellent Work.. I'm 5 again & am remembering Ms. Ruby My Sitter with a Rheingold beer&chesterfield cigarette ironing & cooking..Us watching those soaps. Tku Si Much..
I truly enjoy all your renditions of these soap opera themes. Amazing! I have flashbacks of watching the storyline of the Lori Karr kidnapping, being held hostage and the character Eric Barrington who was responsible.
Fantastic!!!!! I join all the others in applauding you and the magnificent music that you are recreating and bringing back to us. And to think, we can watch you playing it- fabulous. It must mean a lot to the surviving cast members to see your videos.
If Edwind Schazez said we invite you to stay tuned for Where The Heart Is next over most of these CBS stations over the piano/organ closing theme of the 60's early 70's of The Edge of Night
well done. i was too young to remember the show when this intro was prevalent. i can recollect THE EDGE OF NIGHT during the disco era when Raven Swift was acting up. lol i used to love the show and i think you did an excellent job on your rendition of the 1950's-1960's theme for the show. it was awesome, just like the original. all we needed was you to say, "Tune in again tomorrow....for The Edge....of night." lol
Your renditions are simply amazing. They take me back to the original Paul Taubman and Eddie Layton greats. And having grown up watching these great old soaps, I have a deep soft spot for them. I’ve gone so far as to recreate the visuals for some-Love Is A Many Splendored Thing, Th Edge Of Night and The Secret Storm here on UA-cam. (‘Under the user name “Rabbit Ears Redux”). You absolutely ROCK with these recreations.
Absolutely brilliant.....the memories it brings back of my childhood summers and school vacations when everything stopped for that half hour! When they changed the theme after Edge moved to ABC I didn't like it. This is great!
You've performed it to perfection! As a fan of The Edge of Night, I enjoyed hearing it once again. The residents of Monticello would be extremely happy. Great memories of wonderfully written mysteries. THAMK YOU!!!

When "The Edge Of Night" is made into a movie or rebooted, Lance Jackson should oversee all the music arrangements for whole project
