Ok, so I've been wanting to make this for a long time now, and finally made it! I used vanilla bean paste instead of an actual vanilla bean. Very tasty! I did have a bit of trouble caramelizing the sugar, though. I don't have torch, so I used the broiler instead. The sugar caramelized unevenly because I didn't spread it out evenly. It still turned out yummy.

And no hurrie! No throw it all in a bowl in one minute put cheese on it and put it in the oven style. It's really refreshing to watch this relaxing way of cooking

Love this stuff! Can't get enough of it.. but interesting thought, watching you add the sugar to the egg yolks.. I had memories of my dear Grandmother making something very like this for cough syrup when I was a little child. ;) This dish definitely deserves the freshly scraped Vanilla bean and real Cream.
