I have build two ebikes for over a year with plans to use ebrake instead of disc brake. I search everywhere but could not find Solution to Ebrake. Here i am, Celebrating this great find. To add to your finding. I noticed that most Chinese Controller have alarm connector. One of the wire is connect to the Pin. No need opening the controller and soldering any wire. Thanks again @EV-Customs.
@@Vea800 one of the wires in the alarm connector is where the ebrake can be connected to. You should first test each of the wires while throttling to identify the right wire.. Hope this helps.
Does it mean that i can connect wire from alarm to that pin and I should have wheal lock when alarm goes off ? My controler oryginalny dont have alarm plug but it have electric brake , but the pin A3 is not connected to anything
The alarm wire is just like a ebs 100% It would make you fly over the Handel bars, but not gonna recharge anything Instead you need to find the correct pad that when the brake levers are engaged they regen for you
I soldered DS together with F2 on the bldc and when I activate SL (Brake Low) I have a regenerative brake that slows me down very gently. F2 doesn't block the wheel as much as F3 and the EABS stops working completely at around 2kmh. I think this works best if your bldc controller doesn't have EBS available!
Have you seen the controllers that are 'fly by wire' ? I've just repaired an e-scooter, but thought I'd get a similar new controller to do the repair (didn't want to wait a month for ali express). After swapping the wiring to match the old controller, and changing the braking from low brake to high brake, everything seemed to work - Apart from the accelerator! The old display (a tf-500) was able to get the data from the different controller (a tf-100) to display on the screen (manually spinning the motor would show the speed), but the accelerator command wasn't recognised. A right pain. Neither controller had an analogue accelerator input, but it looks like there is space on the board to add one (4.3v, ds and gnd), and I guess it would work. For these two controllers, everything is done through the tx and rx leads, the hall sensor for the accelerator is built into the display, and has no analogue output. It was interesting to note there were no error codes on the display, even though the accelerator didn't work. I also found that the newer controller had a brown and blue wire, brown to one of the phases and blue to a pad labelled A3, linking the wires made the motor electrically brake if you tried to roll it (I guess the wires were for an anti-theft device). In the end I used a mosfet from the new controller to repair the old one (a bit of a waste tbh), and I had to transfer the wiring over again! At least I learned that a controller for a kugoo m4 pro is _not_ a suitable replacement for a damaged one from a bogist m5 pro - even if you re-wire it to match, and even though the scooters both look similar, and even if the circuit boards are identical (must be different firmware).
I have e-06 error on zq-100 but my engine has no hall sensors and I have a problem because I don't know where to connect rx and tx from the display, where to solder in the controller

hello, thanks for this video, I wanted to ask you something, if I wanted to dose the braking can I connect a potentiometer? I don't want to skid on asphalt.
What happens if you vary the voltage going to that pin? I was under the impression that the degree of EBS could be carried linearly just like a throttle. So essentially you could have your normal throttle on one side, and a second throttle on the other side. The second throttle enables ebs and you can gradually increase the amount of EBS to slowly bring your bike to a stop. Could you test this by hooking that pin to a second throttle?
I imagine it should work. You might use regular 3-pin brake levers with a signal wire. I'll be testing this out with a xiaomi brake lever and will revert 🙂
So to use ebs does that mean you disregard the high and low brake connections? Or is ebs a combination of high brakes and the additional contact you showed us to diagnose for?
I bought one of these and A3 is connected on blue/white line it is labeled as security signal. Based on reverse engineering it will short out all the three phase wires thats why it somehow acts like a brake.

I've turned a hoverboard into a go cart and need to activate the EBS on both controllers - easy done thanks to you - but can I ground out both controllers on the same ground wire? FYI: Im using one batery to run both controllers so they share the same ground wire.
@@EVCustoms thankyou for confirming that, the controllers Im using have the antitheft wired to what you have called the EBS, can I use that as the "brakes" for my set up? by grounding the EBS wire to apply magnetic braking?
Really useful and very nice video. It's going to be silly but I had a question :) If we press the brake and turn the engine manually without giving any gas to the engine, will the engine brake thanks to ebs? so if the scooter stops on a slope with the brake pressed, will the scooter slide?
Yes, the motor will breaking (it will have some resistance) it will produce three phase power to the controller and the controller will convert it from AC to DC power to charge the battery pack of the vehicle.
Worth mentioning is that ebrake most commonly will be weak at low motor rpms, and stronger at higher motor rpms. So it will only give some resistance once the motor turns, making it a bad stand still brake. Of course there are other ways of actively keep a motor stopped, but thats not in the standard chinese ebike controllers.
For hoverboards, they have a special controaller that controls directly your motor torque, when standstill it applies a constant current the motor to keep you still It also use a more advanced control technique cold FOC (field oriented control) - Maximizes motor torque at any angle - Better efficiency - Sillent motor operation - Precise motor movements

Hello, I am following you with interest for your electric vehicle skills. Would your knowledge be useful to me for something I have to solve on an electric vehicle how can I contact you?
How would I activate EBS with the high brake line?
If your brake lever has a switch to light brake light you can run 2 wire into controller and solder one wire to each pad. Pulling lever will complete circuit and ground the ebs
Sorry I just read high brake line design. High requires 5v input
@@joeKisonue I decided to use a brake relay.

Can you please make wideo explaining how to wire the alarm with antitheft (wheel
are locking when someone tries to push the bike/scooter when alarm is actiwated )
My controler does not have that option originaly 😞
I have already order the alarm system for a learning table 😁
@@EVCustoms you are a star my friend😉 , from prewious wideo of you finding secret functions on controller, when you cut your plug for alarm i noticed to wchich pins 2 of the wires goes , i know where pink and blue wires goes and i have the same markings on my circuit board in my electric scooter , but the yelow wire didnt have any markings on the circuit board or i couldnt see it on the wideo, i have unused solder pad without the markings on my circuit board roughly in the same spot right next to the mosfets and i have theory that it goes directly to the thick solder trace for mosfets on the other side of the circuit board(i couldnt check it because i left my multimeter in work) , but im scared that its a wrong solder pad and i might burn something 😬
do you know the name of that plug that you cut ?
i want to buy one so i can solder it to circuit board and connect it nicely to original alarm plug , is it some kind of molex plug 🤔
I measured that pad with my multimeter and it does in fact go to the other side of the circuitboard , so I went for it and soldered green wire from alarm in there and 2 other wires to 2 other pads (im not gona spoil your wideo and say which wich 2 other pads ) and it worked 😀 wheel locks now when alarm is triggered and I try to push the scooter 😆 but its just one wheel that is locking , so ned to do the same wires in the other controler
Cann i ask?. can EBS be possible to charge while in the road hill down? Or not?
Yes
How to test voltage drop to motor? How to test voltage drop when not connect to motor?
I've been thinking about this. You need to make a harness with a female xt60 on in the middle of the positive lead.

Hello dear friends the throttle wire looks good but I can't attach them to the control sensor because the wire's them are black and yellow and red 😊.
I need to identify this controller.
Hello dear sir I can see we as breaking. Thank 😊😅
No matter what i do, my speed won't change. How do I adjust my speed?

Hello have?
Didn't catch that, again? Nah nothing, is he making curry?
Is low brake and high brake the same as EBS?. Thank you
Yes my friend..
That it is not making sense, why would a controller have 3 plugs for EBS?
So, I am thinking that;
Low brake = soft motor shutdown
High Brake = hard motor shutdown
EBS = a gradual braking of the motor by slowly reversing the motor.
So, it is not the same, am I wrong?
@@diyek1781 They are same thing... the difference is tha on high brake you can connect load like rear stop light in series with brake leaver to activate stoplight when breaking
Ok, I shall try. Anyway, you always test on hub motors. Can you please provide tests of real motors like the skateboard motors 6374 at 190kv with the same type of controllers? Do this controllers work with the 6374 or are this just for hubs? Thank you.

I found A3 pin and EBS working for me but it is to strong !.Wheel just stop in 2s,you can do a flip,is it normal ?.
Perhaps Lov brake will be better/smoother ?.
BTW.thanks for your help, I successfully replaced the controller in the scooter of a girl from work.😁🛴
Try using low-brake instead. Low brake wire needs to be connected to ground to activate the brake
