hello great video. i have a question about a problem i currently have. i have a 72v 3000w motor and a 48-72v ecu. the problem is that no matter which battery I connect 48v or 72v I suddenly have no more power and have to disconnect the battery. do you know what that could be?
Lights(horn, signal, tail and front) are usally not controlled by the controller. See it as another circuit. Use a converter from your battery voltage to 12 volts(a.i. 48v-12v). The circuit runs like this: battery->(key)switch->converter->handlebar controls(a.i.switches)->lights,signals,horn,brakelight
What motor are you using? Where did you buy/how did you make the hub motor reverse? I thought all hub motors had one-way bearings for freewheeling. With a one-way bearing, the brake does not actually brake or regen, it just stops the motor. Without a one-way bearing, you can't freewheel and would have the drag of the motor.
There are 2 kind of hub motors: geared are freewheeling so you can’t ebrake with these. The other(don’t know it’s name) with freewheelfunction and can e-brake

does the throttle need to be connected for the self learning cables to spin the motor? I am trying to test a new controller and going in steps. I have tested the motor with a tester so I know it works. The tester shows 5 volts leaving controller so I know it's getting power from battery. If I connect the learning cables shouldn't the motor spin with or without the throttle connected?
Is cruise control basically a ground loop, that we need to close? I'm asking because on my controller there is only one pink wire for cruise control, no corresponding wire...
Interesting, did you figure it out? My cruise has two wires, and when they touch together cruise activates, when they touch again it deactivates. So I use a momentary switch, push once for on, push again for off.
Is the cruise control really an "amps control" or does it actually control the speed of rotation no matter what the amps required to maintain that speed? On my Golden Motor kit, I believe it is the former.
this was most likely due to several bad hall sensors in the hub motor, i swapped to the original controller and it wouldnt work at all and found the bad hall sensors and replaced them. 7 months later and i am now putting the 80 amp controller back on and i have 80 amps for sure.
