Love being able see Elizabeth and Martin, 2 of my dearest tv stars on one of my favourite game shows. Gee where has all the time gone, it seem like yesterday i was watching this with mom
After Lizzie's death, someone did a family tree on her family and discovered that Lizzie Borden was a distant cousin of Liz's. Talk about an historic connection.
She did some great work on an episode of Mannix. I remember watching it at my uncle's house. He died in 1987. Which is the same year my sister got her first gerbal.
Martin is one of the best actors of his time. His 3 seasons with his wife Barbara Bain on Mission Impossible are the best 3 seasons of the show. He is compelling to watch. As for Miss Montgomery, here work in The Legend of Lizzie Bordon is all the verification one needs to see that she was brilliant as an actress.
During Allen Ludden's reign, it was always Elizabeth Montgomery and Carol Burnett who were the two celebrities in the Tournaments. No one else. Ever. Year after year. They were, hands-down, the two best Password players of all time.
Contestant Gene Boland's play apparently never opened on Broadway (according to IBDB), but he wrote episodes of Peyton Place, Julia and That Girl (according to IMDB). He also has acting credits.
1967, I was born in February. I imagine the all new Ford Thunderbird, Burt Bucharach songs, my mumy young, fashion, Elizabeth Montgomery young, fresh, beautiful. Christ. Stgo CL
I've never heard of a 'scow' before (16:40) - I thought Elizabeth Montgomery was sayinng 'scowl' too! There are so many interesting US words we never hear in the UK.
U can't always judge an actor by the roles they play. Martin Landau, a good actor of course surprised me of how courteous he was & so down to earth. I would have imagined him to be somewhat snobbish but it didn't seem so. They were both good players especially Elizabeth but the queen of Password would go to Betty White naturally.
It's a little weird watching Elizabeth Montgomery. Many of the little mannerisms I associate with Samantha Stevens are actually things that Elisibeth Mongomery does!
I noticed that, too, but hoped it was because she was a returning player so maybe they found out on the last show what she did. But I'm sure it was just the sexism of the times.
@@stormystars1087 He was Commander of Moon Base Alpha , not a ship. They used shuttles to travel short distances off the moon , the shuttles were called Eagles. The show was Space 1999 , where the moon is knocked out of its orbit by a massive explosion.
Well, it wasn't so little then. It was about twelve times more now than it was then. For example, gasoline was about twenty eight cents a gallon then and is over four dollars now!
@@randysills4418 Yes, I know, I'm 64 years old and I remember those low gas prices, etc... But 12 times those amounts is still really low compared to what game show contestants can win now.
Martin is a gentleman, credits his partner with a handshake. Eliz is hot & cold, cat-like, perhaps shy with strangers, seems to forget her partner also took part in the win. Betty White is a perfect example of how to engage, instantly warm, puts partner at ease, gives credit to her partner, is competitive & fun..plus she's an excellent player! It's a great game for many reasons, particularly with this scenario. Luden was the absolute best! You never know what really goes on but from that outsider stance, I think Luden & White were a very compatible, happy couple.
I guess there's more of an art to it then I 1st imagined, but let's save for the word "calm," "flustered" was not a bad clue… But there really is an art in doing that as I call it, Passwordian upturn of musicality with a bit of the stretch of the word…… That seals the deal to communicate that you're trying to get an opposite. It has to be acted out and it has to be done with an obvious "Passwordian" flare to expressly denote that you are trying to communicate that you want the person across from you to guess and opposite. Hard to explain but I think you Password fans know what I mean :-) It usually is best done by actors who know how to do it well.
How do you not get it.. If your paying attention...which is the whole point. It's not necessarily individual clues. It's clues as a whole… Bird. Brings. Babies....STORK.
Landau looks animated. Stars of the future are made on these shows. Thanks to advertisers of useless products It's now a global condition. Wait for the bell, Pavlov.
These shows are great ! I come here to watch the simplicity and grace of another time to escape the crass ridiculousness of today...thank you .
Elizabeth was. So. Pretty
Two of my favorites!! ❤
I just love the expressions on Elizabeth Montgomery's face! She must be one the most entertaining celebs we've seen so far.
Elizabeth has such sophistication and grace. She's like royalty.
Love being able see Elizabeth and Martin, 2 of my dearest tv stars on one of my favourite game shows. Gee where has all the time gone, it seem like yesterday i was watching this with mom
Just love Elizabeth Montgomery. So beautiful and smart. RIP to all.
Addicted to this show from the past ..lol
I love these old shows.
How cool is it that the great Reta Shaw and daughter Kathy showed up to watch friend Liz play Password.
I'll give it a 7.
Would have been nice if they showed them in the audience.
@@dianecelento4974 This.
Elizabeth was a great Password player and a wonderful lady!
Elizabeth Montgomery is a natural talent with a sharp mind.
This is really helping my depression.. thank God..
Love that she had her purse with her during the game.
Martin Landau was such a gentleman!
I love Elizabeth Montgomery's Twilight Zone episode with Charles Bronson with no dialogue- just acting with eyes, gestures and facial expressions.
One of my favorites on password was Elizabeth Montgomery. She was very smart and played well.
Thank you very muchy!!!!! Elizabeth is very beautiful......
Her dad Robert was a handsome fellow, and a very talented actor as well.
...and her green dress looked lovely on her !
After Elizabeth left Bewitched she did some excellent tv work.
She was great in the TV movie, the legend of Lizzie Borden. From Ms. Harper Stacey.

Elizabeth Montgomery was a very smart lady as well as being charming, gracious and beautiful!
A natural beauty and very smart
Elizabeth Montgomery was a great player...beautiful, too!
I loved this show.....I miss those days...terribly
@Veronika Lake I know exactly what you mean!
Beautiful Elizabeth Montgomery RIP sweetheart
I loved this show when I was a kid. In elementary school cafeteria my friends and I played Password at lunchtime 50 years ago
57 years later, and I'm all involved in this and shouting answers and rooting them on!
I heart Elizabeth Montgomery
I was screaming at the screen when it came to "stork" lol

It's nice to see the actors so happy. just being people playing a game.

David Fritz When they weren’t cheating, though many times it wasn’t necessary due to their vocabularies. But both ladies were enjoyable to watch.
I remember Betty White being a very good Password player!
Janei was Duncan - that’s what I was going to say. She was AMAZZZING!!
I'd say Elizabeth Montgomery & Peter Lawford were the best.
@@janeiwasduncan8463 She was fantastic in many of the word game shows I saw her in.
Liz is so cute here. Love her! :)
Rest In Peace, Allen Ludden, Elizabeth Montgomery, and Martin Landau. Overdue condolences to the families for your loss.

Liz got SO red so quickly, oh my god, that was adorableeee lmaaaaao ♥️
I LOVE Elizabeth Montgery...she was my first crush❤❤
thats "Montgomery"
Alan was funny making that joke since the contestant didn't get the stork clues and has 4 kids.

Elizabeth Montgomery was just as brilliant as she was gorgeous.
Thanks for sharing! I love her
The male guest was awesome!!
I love that partition backdrop
Allen made Lizzie blush

The 60's had amazing TV SERIES. Well next to the 70's of course 😁👍🏻👍🏻

Duh
Liz is so beautiful, she also played a very creepy Lizzie Borden. Very versatile.
And her pretty (nay, gorgeous) presence on _Password_ was long-running too!
I remember watching Space 1999 starring Martin Landau
By name only I heard Rita Shaw and had no idea who it was. When I looked her up I've seen her many times on many TV programs.
'You said that to the right man' as if the guest would respond 'Yes'😂
Conscription-DRAFT...great clue!
Elizabeth Montgomery's clue - sex - appeal... Well played by them!
Notice the host asks the woman guest what her husband does- nothing about her
Back then, most married women were introduced, for example, as Mrs. John Smith (instead of Sally Smith).
lol i noticed that too!
I noticed that, too, but hoped it was because she was a returning player so maybe they found out on the last show what she did. But I'm sure it was just the sexism of the times.
The one thing I didn't like about the show. Like being a housewife or mother wasn't valuable work. 😖
Always!!! Just watching now!
9/20/24
Omg! All the women would dress in green, back in 1967! Elizabeth Montgomery was so dazzling! Johnny, Montréal, Canada 🇨🇦
It must have been an in color back in 67
Was Martin Landau not the Commander on the Spaceship in the TV series 1999?
Yes indeed he was

I thought this was cancelled in 1966 after ABC aired The Newlywed Game and Robert MacNamara did his update on the Vietnam war.

Like the guy in the song "Girl from Ipanema"
Do you have the episode from 1967-05-17 ?

Having seen the Mission Impossible series several times, yes, yes he could.

Allen Ludden Betty White husband, great show
The off-camera announcer was Lee Vines, I think.
I wonder what the celebrity guests got paid for these shows

Twlight Zone,,my question 2..,,were there an episode that aired on {05-18-1964}

No offense but Elizabeth is cheating with her hands on every word
That's ok...I love her anyway❤
A few of the stars would do that.
Yep. And it wasn’t even necessary. She was excellent enough to not have to.

Allen asked contestant what her husband did for a living but not her
