This song was not included on the original album entitled "David Bowie" released under that name on Philips in the UK, or on "Man Of Words, Man Of Music" which was what the Mercury Records US release of the album was called, both released in 1969. Then Bowie signed with RCA and as of 1972 all subsequent issues were titled "Space Oddity", after his most well-known song up to that time. "Conversation Piece" was the B-Side to a 45 rpm Single released March 6, 1970 which was added to the 1990 CD.
"I live about the grocers store, owned by an Austrian" It's one of my fave Bowie songs, crazilly obscure- was on Space Oddessy, but not the LP that was released state side. B side of Gene Jeanie single, too.
