I love Bagels! But since I'm diabetic now, I can't eat them, they are super high glycemic. So, this looks like a great recipe I will try. I miss bagels and cream cheese so much!
My recommendation is to use a stand mixer with a paddle. It's way easier to stir than a food processor, as well as to remove the dough to preheat it. Then I scooped it out directly on a nonstick mat. Also, I added a tablespoon of dehydrated vegetable powder (which I make at home from whatever vegetables). I used a teaspoon each of garlic/onion powder, carrot powder, and cabbage powder. The dough will not be sticky, much easier to work. and you can pretend it's a vegetable you're eating. Adding some vegetable powder works really well with eggy wet doughs. I got the idea of making vegetable powder while watching videos on making cauliflower crust pizza. I mean, what's the most effective way to remove excess moisture from vegetables? Dehydration.
Oh! Wow! I make the almonds ones I just finish to eat it’s so delicious I didn’t put nothing in top because I don’t have , but next time I going to do , thank u! Is again delicious
I made these and like Katherine used a stand mixer since I only have a small food processor. they came out gorgeous. I'm waiting for them to cool for the taste test. I used fine sifted almond flour for mine. My question is have you added fruit, like blueberries to the mix. I would love to do that if possible. Thanks for the easy recipe and your video is perfect! I'm sure I will be buying your book!
I hope you liked them! Yes, you can add blueberries. They are a bit salty though from the cheeses, so you might want to add a few tablespoons of sweetener to the dough if you want to add berries.
I love that you have options for coconut flour - I can only tolerate almond flour in small amounts. And I LOVE that dress! - You look like a mummy :) Great Halloween costume.
Not a different version, but many readers have told me they’ve made these with plant based cheeses. You’d have to check the carb content and ingredients, some of them are sketchy.
Thank you Wholesome Yum! I saw some comments and I am sorry that people are fixated with the carb counts. For one....to go from ketogenic to low carb...it varies for each person. I feel people will learn to get flexible and not so rigid in thinking. Food is creativity including how to include healthy carb nets into their life. Thanks!
I don't have one for bagels, but this keto bread can be made with coconut oil instead of butter to make it dairy-free: ua-cam.com/video/IXjFZRY1mnI/v-deo.html (video)
I’ve seen some other people skip the melting the cheese in the microwave and just mix everything in the food processor for fat head pizza dough, have you ever tried it that way?
Yes, I’ve tried this before and wasn’t happy with the results. The texture is way off, like an almond biscuit dough with pieces of cheese that are separate.
@@WholesomeYum I've seen somebody mentioning getting very good and consistent results with mixing everything but the eggs, then microwave and mix in the eggs last. That sound pretty smart to me and I will try it the next time. Did you try this before?
Using music with voice is annoying and disturbing. It covers over many of her words, which I had to replay and put my phone close to my ear to catch her words better. I don't know why some youtubers don't have confidence about simply their voice to explain their subject.
Both almond and coconut flour do not taste good to me at all. Every time I am looking for a keto recipe, the first thing they want you to grab is almond flour or coconut flour. Both are gross. You cannot mask those flavors. You just cannot.
They are small because you made 8 instead of 6. :) If you want them more chewy, you can add 1/4 tsp xanthan gum at the same step as the flour, though for me they are chewy enough as is. Everyone is different.

@@janarose2664 Jane, do you know that ketogenic can be higher than 20 carb net? There is also people who live low carb lifestyle where it is from 20 to 100 carb nets. One bagel will not throw people off. For some people...a bagel with eggs are great. Then a steak with salads and etc. It is NOT really that high of a carb in the bigger picture.
Well we freeze chaffles and put them in the toaster often and the ingredients are pretty much the same base (almond flour/eggs/moz and cream cheese) so Id say you are good to go.

is 50 / 50 coco/almond flour possible?
*Looks really yummy* 🥯
My food process is really small. How else can I mix it..by hand or mixer?
Go to the link she listed under 'more' for printable recipe and macros. She has tips under the recipe how you can mix it.
Love your videos
Unfortunately, I am allergic to tree nuts so I would have to use coconut flour. I’m going to do a little research if any alternatives would work
Yes, you can make them with coconut flour - I cover the difference in amounts of ingredients in the video :)
If you don’t have parchment paper Oil does not work, I learned that tonight 😢
I’m going to try again tomorrow
Yeah, they do stick if you don’t use parchment paper. :( hope it works better for you next time with the paper!

Any dairy free or lactose free bagel or bread recipes?

Lupin is a good keto flour.
Which version has the lowest amount of carbs?
Coconut flour I think.
I do not have an oven. Can these be baked in an air fryer??
I’ve never tried that but I think you can. I’d try a lower temp, 325 or 350, and check on them after 7-8 minutes.
What are the carbs for one of the almond bagels plz
Hi Jerri, Full macros are on the recipe card here: www.wholesomeyum.com/recipes/low-carb-bagels-with-almond-flour-keto-gluten-free-5-ingredients/
What about lupin flour? Half almond/half lupin.
I haven't tried that but based on my experience with lupin flour, that would probably work!

Never understood the American obsession with bagels. 🤔
Never understood the English obsession with scones.
@batgirlp5561 nope, me neither. Pretty ordinary, really, and not the same as American scones 🤔
Darn! Not dairy free
