    I've been making these for awhile and have loved them. I toast them, put cream cheese, smoked salmon, and red onion on them, but lately the coconut taste is putting me off a little bit - tolerable but not ideal. Yesterday I made the recipe again but used 30 grams of coconut flour and 30 grams of almond flour. It really cut down on the coconut taste. It did make the dough a little stickier to work with but not too bad.

    I tried this and it was AMAZING. It tastes almost like real bread but much softer. And it has no eggy flavor, so I really recommend it. Best keto bread I’ve ever tried. Thank you so much!

    Made this recipe tonight, used half to make 4 bagels, the other half made a pizza. The very BEST fat head recipe I have ever tried!! Can’t wait to have a bagel tomorrow!! I have learned, after many fails on a lot of keto recipes, you are my go- to when I’m looking for something to make. Thank you for all your testing, trials, and Winners!!

      I know you commented a year ago but do you remember how the coconut flour fathead dough worked out for your pizza crust?

    So good it’s insanity!!!! Followed recipe exactly except used TJ everything bagel seasoning. I like these better than real bagels. Amazing and much easier than I thought.

    I don’t mind almond flour, but I’ve come to Really appreciate baked goods made with coconut flour.
    I can’t wait to try this, AND I should be having more time in my mornings during Florida’s lockdown 🔒🚪😷

    For those wondering, Amazon has multiple brands of kitchen scales available for $10 or less, including one that looks exactly like the one used in this video (although it appears to be a different brand).

    I love the idea of making these but unfortunately I am not able to do dairy (including eggs and cheese) I wonder how this would work out with veggie cheese & egg replacement? I guess that I will have to do my own experiment 😁🤞🏼Thank you Carolyn 🙏🏼 I just got your Breakfast Keto Cookbook and I will have to adapt to non dairy versions 🥰

    Is it possible to make pasta with the same recipe ? I would be great if you make pasta with coconut flour as I can not find a good one.

    This looks awesome I plan to try it. A question though have you ever tried to boil the fathead dough before baking like you would a regular bagel? And others call for cream cheese and I noticed this one didn’t does it have an effect?

    Hi Carolyn,
    It would be great if you or one of your viewers could give me an idea of what to reduce or replace vital wheat Gluten with. I make the Keto King loaf, which actually came from Derdre. I've reduced the Gluten by 30grams but wonder if I could use some coconut or almond flour to replace part of it. I've already improved the texture by reducing the Gluten and replacing with flax. This is to reduce the chewiness. Or maybe another low Carb flour. Would appreciate some ideas,

      I think you're better off adding some other protein powder, like whey or egg white, to help replace the gluten.

    We so miss our bagels on the keto diet and your bagels look amazing. However, so many amazing looking recipes we have tried have left us so disapppointed. People keep saying that you just cannot expect keto recipes to be as good as the traditional foods we are used to...especially breads. My question is are your bagels truly chewy as bagels are supposed to be?

    Thank you for canal, but could you put a more description of recipe. Everyone has different cups and spoons... I had to watch your video 6 times to collect all the ingredients and understand the process. Of course, it would be better if there was a product sheet with grams in the description.

      Yep, but keep an eye on the bottoms. I might put the oven rack in the second highest position so that they don't over-brown.

    why can't you shred the cheese yourself? I always avoid buying the shredded cheese - very bad thing if you read the labels

    Do you or have made your own cream cheese? I make my own Greek yogurt and strain the heck out it and end up with a cream cheese texture. Who knew it was cream cheese or at least it is according to another creators channel.

    Hi Carolyn, if all I have is block mozzarella to shred, do you think it makes a significant difference? If so, is there something I can add a bit of to help, like tapioca starch? I'd love to make these for breakfast, since eggs are a little hard to find right now and this would let me make 2 eggs spread out into 8 keto breakfasts.

      I think you could try that. Maybe a teaspoon? Hard to be sure it will work but at the very least, you'd have flat keto bread you could toast and eat!

      @@AllDayIDreamAboutFood I just made these without any additive, but did end up kneading in a touch more coconut flour (it was too sticky). These are FANTASTIC! No coconut taste (I used Anthony's), and they toasted nicely. I don't really like almond flour-based fathead dough, but this is great. Hubs asked me to make another batch to wrap around hot dogs. Thanks for this!

      No subs for that. You can try it without but the dough may be more fragile.

    are the eggs room temperature before mixing. I just made them and the flour and cheese did not want to mix in together. Terrible, so I made buns. I must have the wrong cheese.

      They don't have to be room temp for these. It's probably your cheese - what did you use?

    I made these and unfortunately they did not turn out well. I weighed out what I needed to. I was so excited so I’m not sure what happened but they ended up tasting salty and like cheese, not bagels;(
