However, the Blink sounded clearer to my ears, which should not be much of an issue during a nighttime robbery, unless a pair of robbers need to communicate with each other during the robbery. The Night view benefits of the V3 is why I’m upgrading the V2 I have. I may need another for the lounge, replacing the PanCam, which can be moved elsewhere. I never use the Pan functions anyway.
Wyze hands down.. there's no comparison.. however, the sound quality on the blink might be a tiny bit better... that's the only advantage it has over the Wyze.
Another advantage is that is ships worldwide not just to US. Not to mention Wyze should be shipped since November, then changed it to December and now they changed it to January. So.....maybe you can preorder and patiently wait forever.

Hard to see any other cam under $25 that matches the Wyze V3. I remember getting some cheap 1080p cams for the house only a few years ago just to tinker with. Now the quality for the same amount of money has improved tremendously.
Your reviews are always so helpful. Will you please review the apps of security cameras? Why are there so many bad reviews in the app store? What permissions are required and where is the information being sent. Why do apps need our contact lists?...it's an invasion of privacy! People listed in my contact list didn't give their permission to give their info away...and vice versa. Since most seem to be based out of China, it's a serious privacy issue for me. It makes me hesitant to buy a camera. Thank you!

In short: Blink - Better sound capture, more fluid video movement (at the cost of video quality), and 2-3 secs faster notification. Wyze - Everything else is superior (far better night/day quality and range, cloud, local storage, more sensors&options, way better and faster app, etc)

Which indoor cam would you recommend for placing in my aging mother’s house to keep an eye on her remotely. Would like for a cam to plug in so I don’t have to have her worry about changing batteries.
I am doing the exact same thing. I like to be alerted at night so I can remind her to use her walker on way to bathroom. So I bought the Blink mini….few cons so far after week of use. Motion sensor is a bit delayed. Notification sound is VERY quiet so it doesn’t wake me up every time(defeating the purpose). Also sometimes it doesn’t connect and just says failed so I have to close out app and reopen. Otherwise great visual and audio, intuitive & easy to install. Can you share which camera you selected?

Have it detect motion at a certain time, either with a Wyze/Blink camera or Wyze sense maybe, and then play a trigger/routine to say from an Alexa/Google device "Hey Mom, use your walker on the way to the bathroom". But if she moves in bed, it might trigger a lot of false alarms.

Will you be reviewing the Wyze security system when it becomes available? I got an email yesterday the pre orders start on December 8. The V3 is looking solid and making me wonder if a Wyze security system is viable after all.
There is a known issue with some blink mini cameras where they lock up overnight and fail to record or notify, apparently they fail to transition from night to day mode and stay locked up until you initiate a live view which causes them to work again. Have 2 and bought 2 for some and all 4 exhibit this fault but many seem happy so I assume it’s a problem with a small batch however that makes it a lottery. Community posts show problem has existed for year so no fix coming and support no help. Otherwise good camera just not for security.
@@LifeHackster I tried to unplug you and plugging back in. That didn't seem to work. I have the outdoor in the mini cam and both of them do the same thing . When I hit the talk button on the app on my cell phone the sound cuts off completely. I talk and nobody can hear me on the other side.

I hook mines to my Google so on my phone or tv, I can say the name of the room and the camera pops up. So friggin cool. Jus takes like 5 seconds sometimes longer for it to come on though. It's not instant but it works 100 percent. So awesome let me tell u
The microphones sound much nicer on the blink but the camera on the v3 totally outclassed the blink mini. I intend on putting the v3 inside so the cam plus really isn't for me
I don't know why you all commenting say the Blink audio quality is better. It is overly compressed and you are getting the high pitched low quality mp3 effect or the "T" and "s" sounds. If you can't hear that you got bad speakers or headphones.... or hearing issue in general. Yes the Wyze sounds muffled but that's because it is an outdoor camera as well. I take Wyze muffled over ear piercing compression noise from the Blink. Night vision is million times better with Wyze.
I just got wyze cam v3. Dunno why but my alerts, video quality and not missing the first five seconds of the alert video. My eufy system, three times the cost cannot compete with it and let me tell you the Wyze cams are shining THROUGH windows into the yard! Eufy is garbage. For me anyways.
5 minute cool down is garbage, wyze looses.n this guy didn't try the Google again. It's way faster than that. Mine takes 5 to 10 seconds. I guess it depends on the speed of the device being used. I tried it from my new Sony x900 n it's super quick. Only wifi sucks on the wyze n notification is trash. But for 20 bucks, u get what u pay for
Wifi distance should be tested. My wyze sucks n it's not even far. All my other devices get full bars. Wyze says low connection. Wtf I guess u get what u pay for huh

we do this for my grandmother, a camera with pan and tilt, like the Wyze Cam PAN V1 or V2 works great.

No. Just click playback in the app and it will get you to the timeline where you can select play and record the footage to your phone.

I think it is better to have at least 2 brands or setups so that 1 can act as a backup if the other one goes down or offline

The video just loops. Not sure what the biggest size micro sd card is on the v3 though.
It loops record.
The sd card will corrupt before it fills up due to wyze's poor coding. You will be reformatting your SD card about twice a month 😀

I can't seem to get the two way audio to work on my Blink system. I press the talk button on my app and all sound is cut off. Is there a fix?
Try unplugging it and plugging it back in..and see if it fixes it..if not you might have a bad speaker on the camera.

Wyze is better. Blink cam is indoor. Wyze can has the option to chose if you want it outdoors or inside. Having that makes a better camera.
