Halved the recipe for lunch today. You can also swap out sour cream for the mayo and it was still amazing. Also added a tiny bit of garlic powder to the potatoes.

Hi, I wanted to say that it tasted fantastic. We had this for lunch with some leftover curry. I swapped out the potato mash/mozerella with the curry and added some grated cheese on top. It was delicious! Thank you for the idea.

Finally did this today after watching this for a week and it came out great. Wonderful use of a small amount of ingredients to make something very filling. Also worth saying that there's not a ton of cleanup! Besides the cutting board I had a pot I boiled the potato in, the bowl I mashed the potato in, the bowl the dough was made in and the pan it was all cooked in. Took 10 minutes.

if anyone is worried about having salted or unsalted butter for this recipe, it doesn't matter since there's not very much butter in it. if you use salted butter you'll probably have about 100mg more salt than is called for. the recipe calls for 10x that much so it shouldn't make a big difference and you can follow the recipe as is
@@KweeGerald this recipe uses melted butter so using oil should be fine and not turn out super different. you might end up needing a different amount of it than you would butter so I would start with less than it calls for and keep going until the dough comes together. the role of the butter in this dough, and in most other things like this, is moisture, texture and flavor. both oil and butter add moisture so the biggest thing is taken care of for it to work but yours will probably have a different texture and flavor than it would with butter

Тесто почти не вымешиваю, быстро замесила, лишь бы комок сформировался, оно очень мягкое и в целофан. Всегда выдерживаю в холодильнике не менее 30 минут, иногда вечером делаю, а на утром готовлю. Может у Вас с мукой проблема или долго вымешиваете.

Looks delicious. It reminds me of aloo ka pararntha. It's made of whole grain wheat flour instead. It doesn't have bacon and cheese but I add cheese to make it better. It has a lot of chillies and coriander. They are cooked in a similar way

i know there's i think there's an afghanistani or pakistani dish similar to this, except you heavily spice the mashed potatoes with cumin, garam masala, coriander, and mix in fried onions or chives and cilantro, maybe even fried diced green peppers and then you form it into the pastry and fry absolutely delicious and nice vegetarian/vegan alternative!

I am from Scotland and we have a thing called a Potato Scone (or tattie as we say) Basically mashed potatoes sprinkling in flour then lightly fried as u do BUT! we leave the potatoes in the fridge until they go old just like using aged doe for pizza bread. Some tattie scone guru’s leave it in the fridge for as much as 5 days 😳 Just a thought 👍

Do you have a website? This was great! I used very soft butter, I added garlic to the dough. We fried the onion and added sour cream instead of Mayo. I had issues with closing the dough very hard to do, I gave up and flipped it over and then rolled it out again. Seems like it closed up very nice. Everyone thought this was a very fun dish to eat!
I made this twice. I replaced the bacon with salami the first time, and with tuna the second (bacon is freaking expensive here!!) and both times replaced mayo with mustard, and it ended up SO good.
So I'm new to baking. I still haven't figured out how to work the dough so it's not all sticky, instead of formed like I see in all the videos. Other than that, I recommend frying it in butter. lol And I topped mine off with garlic powder and a bit more salt before frying. It was delicious. TY for the upload.

I didn't have a potato, so I used scrambled eggs and stripples (a vegetarian bacon analog). Wife and kids loved it. Potato next time, along with a double recipe.

That looks absolutely beautiful. I am from Scotland and we have a thing called a Potato Scone (or tattie as we say) Basically mashed potatoes sprinkling in flour then lightly fried as u do BUT! we leave the potatoes in the fridge until they go old just like using aged doe for pizza bread. Some tattie scone guru’s leave it in the fridge for as much as 5 days 😳 Just a thought 👍

Do you have a website? This was great! I used very soft butter, I added garlic to the dough. We fried the onion and added sour cream instead of Mayo. I had issues with closing the dough very hard to do, I gave up and flipped it over and then rolled it out again. Seems like it closed up very nice. Everyone thought this was a very fun dish to eat!
I made this twice. I replaced the bacon with salami the first time, and with tuna the second (bacon is freaking expensive here!!) and both times replaced mayo with mustard, and it ended up SO good.
I used this recipe it turned out amazing. I'm obsessed

So I'm new to baking. I still haven't figured out how to work the dough so it's not all sticky, instead of formed like I see in all the videos. Other than that, I recommend frying it in butter. lol And I topped mine off with garlic powder and a bit more salt before frying. It was delicious. TY for the upload.

Well just this for lunch but also add fresh wild asparagus, fresh garlic and instead of bacon I used portuguese chouriço and mixed all with the onion an potatoes and a little of chese "queijo da ilha" cubes to.. it's awesome recipe to customise.. I love it dude

I didn't have a potato, so I used scrambled eggs and stripples (a vegetarian bacon analog). Wife and kids loved it. Potato next time, along with a double recipe.
