Jeremy as usual u don’t disappoint my goodness brother u should be our ambassador there ,nobody is as frank and thorough as you r ! U r awesome really truly stay healthy stay safe stay blessed!
I met a expat on facebook he never said positive things about my Filipina . He said he had bad vibes about her. He dealt with Filipina 11 yrs he would not trust her yet he did not know her. He said a good Philipina would never ask for money well she did not but i chose to sponsor her after i saw the need. This expat lives with his Filipina he pays all the bills. It ok for him to pay her way but it not all right for me to pay my Filipina bills because i don't live there .. He cuss me out told me i had a bad Filipina you will have to learn the hard way then deleted me. I did not let many people know about are relationship because of assholes like that expat.
Another key to success, is being able to handle, barking dogs, roosters, goats.....and wait for it.....KARAOKE...all hours of the night. Finding the right place to live is paramount to having quality of life overseas.
I agree. Yes, you might need to repeat yourself several times. I like that "you can never go wrong being humble". It works for me. Some guys get into a heap of trouble when they don't take heed to that advice. Bring money. Yep, another pitfall. Sometimes the ATM doesn't work. I always plan accordingly. Some guys use Charles Schwab cards. Apparently, Schwab reimburses all and any fees. Eventually I will get one. Like you said the fees can get pricey. It is different in a foreign country.
Good info to know and I love the walking tours around the local neighborhoods. It's a perspective not often seen on other travel vlogger's channels. I guess that's the difference between being an expat and travel vlogger.
Hello Jeremy. Having been to the Philippines a few times now, I agree that a person needs to have some patience, and sometimes lots of it, because what may take a few minutes in a bank or government office here can literally take hours there and you still come away with little satisfaction in how everything went. Still if a person can handle that sort of thing and the crazy traffic in major cities, the Philippines is a very interesting place with lots of nice places to see and things to do.
I don’t hang with ex-pats I’m with Del and usually when I meet “Foreigners” I’ll sit and chat and be pleasant but they’re company tbh I can get back here on a daily basis.Correct about Duterte it’s not our place to criticise how it’s run and definitely not our place to comment.
Yeah I would say the same goes in Thailand. I regret not having CASH because whoever owns these banks will totally rip you off with fees. I got back home and had hundreds of dollars in fees!
Yup...And do not go there relying on being able to use your Visa card...I made that mistake...I was thinking as soon as my cash got low, I'll just use my Visa...lol It's a cash based society as you said...Even in major cities it's very hard to find places that accept visa.
Build a network consisting of locals like Aheezy and Kyle Jennerman did. They seem to get on with their lives very well. As far as back up plan, the Philippines is a back up plan. If you need another back up plan, you're in trouble.

Almost all industry in the Philippines are being monopolize in disguise of patriosm that's why don't expect to experience good service...from enternet, health, transportation, energy, retail and even education which majority run by a religious group a nonprofit organization that who most of the time charge overboard...welcome to the Philippines
spot on with everything you said.. I try to let on (say hi to ex-pats) and they just ignore you but the Filipinos they say hello sir and are very kind... and i been in that situation where talking to people and my accent is very manchester uk based there expecting london speak lol - keep my self to my self ... perfect mate :D i see my self as a guest yes i agree!!
Your narration is excellent.

I used no international fee credit cards plus sent myself cash using Xoom..it only cost about 8 dollars to send as much as 1800 dollars to yourself.

Same happened to me.

You nailed it when you used the phrase, “cash based society.”
