Jeremy, the more I hear about these countries, the Less likely I am to be interested in visiting them. I have no intention to traveling in fear of "police interpretation" of anything

If you can’t step on fear’s throat, you will never travel. These videos are designed to help you understand what to expect and how to minimize the impact of problems. I don’t sugar coat what life is like here. If reality is discouraging, I encourage you to stay in your comfort zone. Thanks for the comment.

      Hi Kurt,
I'm sorry to hear about your stroke & I know what it's like having suffered two of them (TIA's) but once fully recovered grab life by it's horns & run with it. Life is for living & Thailand is one hell of an amazing place not to witness.
In my experience the police in Thailand have been fantastic in helping me out when needed...they're there to stop the criminals.
All the very best in your recovery.

It is not that bad or scary. You will probably never need to interact with the police for a short stay. 99% of the time, Westerners are treated very well in Thailand.

Number 9 is a rule for life, Today I was out and came across a street musician with an adorable voice so I stood and listened for three songs. So I gave her 6 bucks made me feel great to see the shocked surprise on her face because 99% of the time she will get a dollar but I wanted her to know she is appreciated. So number 9 is a must for me in all things. Great vlog Bruv. Keep them coming...

I cannot emphasize the importance of #3; Stay out of all trouble. Keep in mind, part of your trip is to enjoy the show no matter the cost. Look at it as a movie. Story time. I watched an Aussie guy who skipped out on a lady of the night and ended up throwing her through some bushes in pots on the corner of Soi 12 in Patty as she was flinging beer at him from a large Chang bottle. She hit her head hard on the building. I was sitting drinking a Thai ice tea from 7 on the steps literally 6 feet away. Out on nowhere, 3 motor taxi guys came out of nowhere, beat the snot out of him then took that bottle and cracked it over his skull!! I was covered in glass. After they beat him down and he laid on the ground with a cracked skull, they stopped, ran to me and said, "you ok, you have glass....you OK?" I was like yeah, run guys run! They went from raging mad to nice guys in literally a split second. I wanted to help the guy but thought, "Hell NO, this guy broke the code and he's on his own." Had I have offered help out of instinct, I could have been dragged into it. Cops came, I told them what happened but not sure exactly what all happened or who did what. The putz had no passport, no ID. Yeah, I'm sure he is hosed. If shit goes down, you are on your own!!! Enjoy the show!! #4 Also most important. Follow you gut and always have an escape plan. Learn to think of your feet fast. I ended up picking up a gal at Thermae Cafe in BKK. When we walked out the door, my gut feeling said, "get the hell away NOW" as there was something off about her energy. I found the plan of escape at the Robinsons store underground just two blocks away. The plan was to get food. I said I was going to get water, found a door to the BACK of the store and took the freight elevator to the ground level and got the hell out of dodge. Do anything to get the hell away. Both of these stories were quite the adventure on my last trip a month ago that makes for good memories. Shit always seems to happen. Enjoy the show. Be a damn gentleman to everyone, including the ladies. Rewards will happen!!

Your points are gold Jeremy! Everything you said is common sense but it seriously matters in SEA. I was fined for overstaying 2 days on my last visit. They were pretty casual about it but I was fined 500 B per day and had a police report slip made up. It felt a bit embarrassing but I asked the officer if I would be able to come back and they said yes. I will not make that mistake again.

BEST ADVICE IS>>>>>>>>>>>> FOLLOW YOUR GUT! Got me out of trouble 2x. Follow the 3 basic rules of being a good human and all will be fine. Keep emergency money on you at all times......1500 bt. Stash it some where on your person and for the most part, forget about it. If you go out daily as I do with a daily budget, surprises do happen.

Thanks for your advice. I agree with the comments made here about alcohol. I have seen some excessive public drunkenness on my short visits to Pattaya. I don’t think that’s a good idea. Also, I have read that street drugs can get tourists into a lot legal trouble in many Asian countries. I have heard that laws in Asia are much more strict than in Western countries. Is that true? Maybe my comments come under the category of “common sense”.

Good stuff Jeremy! And I ask myself once again..' why dont folks have a little fear? And plans made around knowledge received from experienced travelers can truly save your butt. If a person has a stash of cash in a foreign country they would be smart to keep a good chunk of it as a safety net. It's got to hurt being banned with no safety cash, cards or other means to get out.. because they will want ya to leave almost immediately.
