Bought an adapter on Amazon that I just tried and it works! Just $2.19 Comes from China so long as you're not in a hurry. Took about twelve days. Just ordered another. TDZTMNDNB DC7909 Female to DC8020 Male Adapter DC7.9x0.9mm to DC8.0x2.0mm Solar Panel Adapter Converters for Power Stations
Here is the breakdown of the older plugs and the newer plugs. Because of the higher current, the center pin on the newer is larger that the older smaller doesn't contact. The engineering nomenclature of the plugs: DC7909 is the old, Direct Current 7.9mm out side (-) 0.9mm pin diameter. New is DC8020 or DC 8.0mm outer (-) diameter & 2.0mm diameter of the center (+) pin. So, adapter from old to new is FEMALE DC7909 to MALE DC8020. (To avoid an adapter, get the one piece cable with the respect adapter designations) Hope that helps. Waiting for my delivery to verify, but confident this information is correct. Naval AMD AVIONICS & Helicopter crewman veteran, in mid 70s. (1000 v2 looking good to wire into my gas apartment heater in an emergency).
Excellent. Side note for non Jackery units. The adapter may fit loosely but works ok. I do not like loose connections... or adaptors. Thank you for the great breakdown and nomenclature. Thank you for your service above and beyond sir!
I tried charging the 2.0 with a Jackery panel I’ve had for a couple years. No go. Contacted Jackery, they say I need a $20 adapter, which I did order, but sheesh. So now I need a $20 adapter for 2 panels and the 12 volt cord. It’s a racket.
Agreed... but they are currently the pound for pound leader in portable solar units... if you're a musician.I started with Bluetti but it just couldn't handle the full time use like the Jackery. I too am waiting for the perfect combo. Good luck!
I just bought the package deal for $1200. Came with the Explorer 1000, 1000 power pack, and 2 100W solar panels. Also mine is the newest version of yours.
I'm excited about buying a Jackery 1000 v2! However, I intend to use it with my current Renogy solar panels. If I find out that the Jackery won't work with non Jackery solar panels, I'll ship it back faster than if it was shot out of a cannon.
I purchased a Jackery 1000 v2 this Black Friday. Tried to use my off brand 100-watt panel, and it didn't work. They told me I would need to get a dc7909 to dc8020 adapter, and it would work, and once again, it didn't. Just called them back today and they said I would need a Mc4 to dc8020 cable. I guess I will order that and see if it works 😠 😡
I've been using the heck out of my old Jackery Explorer 240 for a few years now. It's become my go to unit and hasn't lost it's charge yet. The new Jackery's have the updated batteries but I'm pretty sure the old Explorer 240 will outlive me...lol. PS- the new Explorer 300 is really nice. My E1000v2 sits in the warehouse waiting to power my Iceco in the summer. Good luck!
Wow, Yeah, it’s kinda hard to figure out all this Jackery …. Stuff. I just ordered but do not have yet a.Jackery 3000 Pro. comes with 2-100Watt panels. I didn’t watch enough videos or learning enough to find out what to order exactly…. I find out now mines is not expandable. Each size of Jackery Units. Have their own little quirks. I mean, which unit can do what and what cords…Tell Jackery they need to come out with a playbook….. keep on top of Jackery let me know what you find out…. Let me know when your new video comes out. This is really hard to explain, but I know you know what I’m talking about…. Good luck with your Portable Power stations in solar panels. Keep me posted….
The "conclusion video" goes in depth on this question. The short answer is yes - but it's gonna require a pesky adaptor. Jackery sells them. Buy both. I like both the Jackery and the Renogy panels (200 watts each). The Jackery panels are half the weight but fly easily in the wind. I nomad full time with the Jackery 240 and over panel it with my Renogy 200 watt. Hope this helps, Good luck!
Hi thankyou for the video. im having the same problem with my brand new 1000v2. The adapters that came with my knockoff jackery panels (luvknit) do not work on this unit. I was wondering if you found a resolution. Thanks again
Well the 1000 is roughly 1000Wh, and the panels output ~200w, so I would guess 5 hours to fully charge. (1 hour @ 200w = 200Wh, so to get 1000Wh you'd need 5 hours of full sun.) Really probably 6 hours though as those panels never really output exactly 200w. Plus there's losses and stuff.
Agreed. However, the Jackery Panels are nice and light and have additional charging ports built into the cable that allows you to bypass your battery while it charges at the same time. However I prefer my heavier Ronogy panels which do not require an adaptor with my older Jackery Explorer 240... my main 24/7 nomad set up. Good luck!
Im having the same problem. Just purchased Jackery 1000 V2 two months ago with two Ecoflow 100-watt solar panels, and my Jackery will not charge. The only way to charge it is with 120v ac. I'm still looking for a solution.
@@4StonesHandcraft I bought the DC8020. It worked great. Amazon primer it.. nobody really knows or is smart enough to research the actual jackery’s solar input wire size. Once I figured that out, adapters became small game.
I think what you guys are looking for is an Anderson Cable adapter. I heard that is the cable you need to connect off brand solar panels to Jackery products without a fuss
That right angle adapter is for the older model jackery.

200 watts per dc input so 400 watt total input available. Using adapter on your renogy panels for input into jackery 2nd DC input would work fine.
The problem is the pin in the 8mm plug. Check it out, one is a large pin and the other is a larger pin. Just match the pins and you will be fine.
That center pin diameter, and the length/depth of the pin are key. Thank you!

@ The adapters work. I bought one Jackery brand and another brand for 1/2 the price both work.
I made. My own connector( dc8020) for my Jackery 1000 v2 so dc8020(jackery input) to Anderson conector (to solar panel)
Are you willing to share your specific DIY connector? I'm looking to follow your path for a solution. Thanks.

I use mine with similar non Jackery panels and they work great
@BigBoreGuns Yes, I'm running my Jackery on 3rd party panels and am having no problems. The key is to get an 8mm 8020 cable, which costs about $17.
It works with the adapter… pt 2 coming soon! 🤙🏽

Sounds frustrating. Let me know what happens when you get the cable. They sent me both adaptors which was a good move on their part.
@zeekerscaravan The connectors ended up working the next day. Thanks for replying 👍
I really need one, we have a lot of power outs, but they're so expensive.
Don't be afraid of picking up an older unit or a lower powered unit. The portability of the smaller older units are very useful. Good luck!
@@zeekerscaravanI did get a ecoflow delta 2 a week ago and yes very pleased that I did.
Is Jackery still using outdated batteries or are they catching up to other devices? With the older ones they had a lot less charging cycles
